My boys bounced back after a wonderful summer at Camp Green Acres with friends and their Camp GA family. Beyond thankful and appreciative to all that contributed to a operating a fabulous and safe summer under the circumstances. Camp admin and staff took so many precautions above and beyond PHU and were able to run many activities successfully. Thank you Camp GA. Hope to see you all next year!

P.S. The boys missed you Eddy!

Camp Green Acres has been my home-away-from-home for 8 years. I truly see the genuine care our staff give our children and the dedication the camp puts into making every campers experience unique and amazing. I also know that keeping our staff happy is so important, as happy staff make happy campers! The spirit and enthusiasm exhibited by all is unlike anything I've seen, and I can't wait to be back again for another phenomenal summer!

Camp Green Acres is an amazing camp to send your children too. They have 3 large pools, the activities are amazing and the children are always having a blast! I would definitely recommend sending your children here. They will have the summer of their life and it will become your home away from home. The staff are amazing and so are the directors. Cant wait for summer 2017!!!! :)

Green Acres is the best day camp in Canada!! I know from personal and professional experience. My three children attended Green Acres when they were young. I am a social worker and director of a residential children's camp but came to the city specifically so my children could experience Green Acres Day Camp. They loved it! They loved everything from the bus ride to the programming, which is incredibly diverse. The staff are well trained and well supervised by an amazing head staff and director team that consist of educators and other professionals with an expertise in working with children. I also know Green Acres professionally since they send their campers to my residential camp for an overnight experience. This camp provides a residential camp feeling in a day camp setting. I proudly endorse Green Acres and all their programs.

My daughter had the most fabulous time at Green Acres this summer. Despite there being a pandemic, the camp went above and beyond to make sure that the kids felt "normalized" and upheld every precaution to make sure they were safe. Sandy and Darren go above and beyond to ensure that every family feels important at camp. I am so impressed with the facility, counselors and staff this year. Such a wonderful experience

My daughter went to Camp Green Acres last summer and had the time of her life. She's typically quite picky about what she does but with such a wide range of activities, there really is something for every child. My daughters favourites were: visual arts, gymnastics, mini golf, pottery, archery and ropes & rock climbing to name a few. It's not like a typical camp where they are doing the same type of things everyday. As a parent, I also like the idea of it not being an overnight camp; she has her fun then still gets the spend the evenings at home with her brother.
Definitely sending both the kids here!

Also - everyone is complaining about the chick hatching program however, unless you are vegan then you are eating animals and animal bi-products. Don't let the reviews of one of their programs concern you - this is a wonderful way for kids to spend their summer.

From start to finish, our experience with Green Acres was tremendous. Administration was easy to talk to, made themselves available for all our questions, and went over and above to accommodate us.

The procedures for drop off and pick up, even during this pandemic, was thorough, thoughtful, and stressed safety above everything. There was never any doubt in what was happening and why.

My son loved the staff, who took care of him, supported him and pushed him to improve and gain new skills. They were friendly, they made themselves available for questions, and they overall were happy to be there. That enthusiasm really set the tone for our experience.

We are already making plans to return next summer! Thanks for a great experience, Camp Green Acres!

My daughter (4 years) and nephew (6 years) absolutely loved Green Acres Day Camp. Even through a pandemic! It was both their first year and we will definitely be back and I am sure it will be even better Summer 2021. As a parent I felt completely confident in the camps abilities to stick by their new policies and procedures during COVID. Their communication with parents was incredible and I felt very safe sending my daughter. Thank you Green Acres for bring us some "normalcy" during these tough times.

Our two children - aged 7 and 5 - attended Green Acres Day Camp for two weeks during the summer of 2020 - amidst the pandemic. The camp has done an exemplary job handling this exceedingly complicated situation. From early and transparent communication to a high number of well organized safety protocols and practices, Green Acres Staff did everything possible to ensure a safe, welcoming and positive experience for campers and their families. Our kids had an absolutely blast and wish they could continue for additional weeks. We are grateful to the camp for providing our kids with such a memorable summer. Highly recommended. Thank you Green Acres!

I grew up as a camper and have now worked at Green Acres for eight years. The directors, head staff team and staff have become my family. Coming back to camp every year is something I always look forward to, and where I have made my best friends - it is the best place for children and staff alike to grow.

Would never take my kids there again. They Kept mixing up all requests. Fed my kids wrong food. I would call to tell the one of my kids is sick and request not to take him swimming. They would take a sick one swimming while forget to take a healthy one. Then they said that my son Assaulted a pig ? why would my son even be able to be with pigs? No communication with parents, they didn't even send us a picture of a cabin. We asked them 30 times to do that. Stay away, there are way better camps.

While I can't speak of the camp itself, I am appalled at the Chick hatching program. The children are only told that the chicks are returned to the farmer. The females are used for egg production and the males are ground up to feed and fertilizer. It's a cruel and deceiving program. The schools are unaware that death is a huge part of this program.
Nothing cuter than a fluffy little chick, until it's ground up to spread on your garden.
If schools and parents were truly informed, this program would be abolished.
SHAME ON YOU!

This camp was the WORST place I have ever worked a...

This camp was the WORST place I have ever worked at. I worked at their riding program (Cedar Creek/Saddle Champs) and I have never seen horses in worse shape. Tack was ill fitting and always dirty, which causes severe pain and injuries. The horses were skinny, sick, injured, and overworked. They were fed mouldy hay because the owners are too cheap to provide proper food. Mouldy hay can cause digestive and respiratory problems, which many of the horses had. The head-staff refused to call the vet or farrier. The horses were worked all day, everyday and most did not have access to water despite the heat and requests from staff. Head-staff would often skip feeding the horses and kick the horses and ponies. Many of the other farm animals didn't get fed because farm staff always forgot and were never punished for it. Staff were overworked and underpaid, I received $2.85 an hour. I only stayed because I felt responsible for helping these horses and ended up bringing in my own supplies to help them. SPCA was contacted multiple times but they could not seize the horses because there were too many (30). As a result of being payed so little staff would get frustrated and yell at the children. One of the head-staff would swear and express how much she hated kids right in front of the children. Certain staff members would do drugs before and during camp and talk about it near the children. Horses were falling to the ground while kids were on them on them because their feet were in so much pain but they were forced to keep working. Bathrooms were unsanitary and never cleaned once. Hand washing stations were often left without soap and as a result staff were always getting sick and coming to work sick. Their policy states that if you miss three consecutive days you get fired or if you miss three separate days you lose half your pay, because of this everyone kept coming to work. I will never come back here and the only reason people do work here is because there are no other jobs available. I can't imagine why anyone would want to send their kids here. When children asked what was wrong with the horses I would honestly tell them in hopes that their parents would voice their concerns. This camp is just a terrible place for animals and staff.

This was the 9th year that my son spent his summer at Green Acres Day Camp. Each year has been enriching and fun filled for him. The last two years he has participated in the Leadership Training Program helping foster his natural desire to help others. He declared this past summer to be his best experience yet and that he hopes that next year he can become a counsellor.

From a parent perspective my experience, the CGA staff and leadership are among the best I have ever had the pleasure to interact with. They are very highly organized and their attention to detail on both an administrative and personal level is beyond reproach. In the face of a pandemic this year they efficiently developed, trained and implemented measures and systems that enabled allot of children to safely attend a summer camp where many other camps failed.

I would like to acknowledge the compassion, commitment and dedication of all the staff and specifically Sandy and Eddie. You all make an enormous and important difference in the lives of children who will grow from it and make this a better world for everyone.

A very quaint camp with lots to do.

The ratings seem to express a camper-counsellor dichotomy, which is quite amusing. Having went there several times for workshops, you can tell that some of them are worn out. It says something about the conditions that they have to work in, which is an obvious concern.

This camp perpetuates cruelty towards animals by lying to children about what happens to chicks that they hatch for entertainment. They have admitted that they tell children that the chicks go to a free range farm, while they actually go straight into a factory farm (if female) or are ground up to become feed/fertilizer (if male).

Not only does this place deliberately keep children uneducated about the animal industry, it normalizes animal cruelty.

My kids have been going to Green Acres Summer Camp for the past 4 years and they still love it. Personally, I found them to be super organized and seem to have thought of every little detail. Every year, I'm still impressed by how organized they are.

My kids does 3 different camps each year and Green Acres is always their favourite. My daughter says she wants to be a counselor there when she's older. Our kids recommended 4 of their friends and all 4 of them loved it. Excellent camp!

Our boys (ages 5 and 8) just finished 2 weeks at Green Acres and had a marvellous time - both are asking to go back already. The camp had to make a few adjustments to programming this Summer due to Covid so I can only imagine how much more fun the kids would have when everything is fully operational! The admin staff were great at communicating and the boys loved their counsellors too.

My son went to Green Acres for the first time this year and he made new friends and had the best time. He is already talking about next year! I really appreciate how thorough the team was when it came to preventive measures for COVID-19 while managing to have exciting activities for the kids. They were also very responsive and always answered all my questions and concerns in a very timely manner, even trivial issues like misplacing a jersey or sunglasses. I would definitely recommend Green Acres, they made this summer amazing for my child despite the challenging circumstances. I really hope we can go back next year. My only concern is that its a bit expensive...

My daughter comes home every day with the biggest smile on her face, thanking all us for sending her to Green Acres. They have wonderful Staff, beautiful grounds, and well maintained pools and slides. I would give this a camp 5 stars plus if possible. I will be sending my son there in the next year or so. I recommend this camp to anyone with children. Constant great activities, none stop action and never a child or staff without a smile on their face.

Camp is home. As someone who has been at Green Acres for 9 years, every summer just amazes me to the point that I never want to leave. All the staff are unbelievably welcoming, caring, fun and friendly, they honestly become family. I wouldn t ask for a better place to enjoy my summer. The staff, environment, activities, programs and everything are truly amazing. The staff put so much work in to making sure everyone is happy and having a good time that there is no way you won t have the time of you life. I would 100% recommend Camp Green Acres to give you the best summer of your life.

My daughter started with Camp Green Acres since she was 3 years old. She loved it there and always looking forward to the summer! This is our 7th year going back.

When I first found Camp Green Acres on line, I loved it already. After the tour, I wished I could go there, that's how I knew it was the place for my daughter. I love the great variety of activities, so we don't have to pick and choose. Our kids get all the exposures. The staff there are so friendly and helpful! Because of Camp Green Acres, my child learned how to swim and now a deep end swimmer in just 3 Summers!

Thank you Camp Green Acres and we look forward to many more years of Summer fun! :)

Treat campers and staff both terrible. I would NEVER send my children there and you shouldn't either. A lot of the reviews are biased Camp Unit Heads (Melissa, Courtney, Miryam, Cassie). Check on the Camp Green Acres facebook page.
If you love your child you would NEVER send them to Camp a Green Acres. Look what they've done to the chicks and how they've lied about them to the children... imagine those lies and deceits going for an entire summer!

This camp has been an invaluable, inclusive experience for my son for the past two summers. Terrific activities, a beautiful location, and warm, understanding staff have made it a "real" camp experience that we treasure as a family. My son has tried new things, made friends and most of all, built confidence over the summers. We are so grateful to be able to give him such a special experience, and very excited to have our other kiddos have their own special Green Acres summers in the years to come.

was put with the youngest unit. They were very sweet but extremely needy. Often times they are way too entitled, if a child looses something then it's automatically the counsellor's fault -even if the counsellor is not with the child. In fact, they fired me over that which is a bit absurd.
There are no lunch breaks, you are expected to eat with the children. If you have really young kids, then good luck with that.
The other counsellors there are very cliquey. Feels like a big middle school drama scene.
The directors there are nice, the camp unit head could have handled things better.
If I could redo that summer, I would NOT work for camp green acres. They completely ruined my view of working with children.

The reviews of this camp are suspiciously inconsistent. My daughter is currently in the "leadership in training" program and it is the furthest thing from that description. Our experience is that the camp uses this program as free labour to farm out the unwanted jobs to the LIT's, or worse - they are left to do nothing for hours. We are deeply disappointed with this camp program. Before registering your child, ask many questions and then hold the staff accountable to their claim of what is offered. Better yet, look elsewhere for a true leadership program that has a real interest in guiding your child.

Asking the question all parents pose to their kid(s) at the end of a camp day, the answer was always an enthusiastic It was AWESOME! , said with a big smile and two thumbs up.

As a first year camper at Green Acres (having moved from another popular summer day camp along with several of her friends), my daughter absolutely loved her time, and was quite fond of all her caring and fun staff - from her instructional swim counsellor to her everyday counsellors. Thank you Green Acres and staff for an incredible summer!

Camp has impacted my life in more ways then you all could ever know and for that I am forever grateful for. You all have made each of the years notable and extraordinary, impacting a majority of both my high school and university careers. I find it interesting when one can pin point a specific moment or memory that you know had changed you into the person you are today. And camp has provided 5 years worth of pin points. Whether it was learning about how to deal with being young high school problem or learning how to control those young high school problems as head staff. Each year at camp has taught me how to positively work with others, look outside the box and overall how to be comfortable and confident with who I am and have become. When talking to people outside of camp, they always state "whats the fuss" or it's just camp". They could never understand the friendships and the feeling of absolute bliss that it provides everyone when they walk through the gates, unless they experience it. I just hope the next generation will have the same experience as me and truly understand the world of Camp Green Acres.

Once again GA has done a fantastic job and even with the Covid restrictions you had in place my 3 kids (ages 6, 8 and almost 10) came home extremely happy.
