This is the greatest camp in the history of camps!...

This is the greatest camp in the history of camps! It is an awesomely-run adventure camp, where you can face fears, learn about yourself and grow as a person. It is on some beautiful land very "away" from civilization. At the head of the Nueces river, it has a beautiful waterfront area, terrific activities, very good food, excellent facilities and really great staff. I always hate to leave, can not wait to go back.

The food is pretty good but this camp is a money grab you are walking a ton you have no AC from 8AM till 11PM there is some fun stuff there to but it's just not really fun if your going there and your a 5th or 6th grader I think 7th and 8th grade do more stuff plus we had to wait 4 hours to get everyone to ride the zip line yes 4 hours we waited for and hour then it took another hour for me to actually go then like 4 people backed out so we waited on them it was not a fun wait and a lot of people got hurt 7 kids got hurt someone ran into a tree and 5 other people fell and scratched there knee up really. Ad and another person got a cut

Great family getaway! No cell service, so we enjoyed the peace and quiet. Plenty of free activities to do and some for a minimum fee. Lots of walking and bike trails. We enjoyed the zip line with our little ones ages 6, 8 and 11. There was a long water slide and water zip line also. So much fun looking forward to coming back!

My sister was a counselor at this camp so I had the opportunity to experience almost everything that Camp Eagle had to offer, which is a lot. They have activities for every type of person. Rock climbing, zip line, mountain biking, hiking, swimming. The program is great and teaches great values in life. The sleeping quarters were adequate, but it's a camp so I wouldn't expect any better or worse. The food is cafeteria/camp style, but still tasted great. My personal favorite activity was mountain biking. You have to hike up a steep and long road, but the downhill is fast, windy, and fun. Great camp and can't wait to return.

Great experience at this camp with my group from church. It was my first time and I enjoyed it. The blend of outdoor adventures with biblical discipleship is fantastic. The facilities and grounds are exceptional and the views are magnificent. I highly recommend taking your youth groups here. The staff are friendly and show genuine concern for those who come through. My only complaint would be the food but it was not a deal breaker for me. The meals were either overcooked or undercooked. Not sure if there is a paid team but if there isn't, I would recommend Camp Eagle invest in a chef and hospitality/cook team that handles all food affairs. After having other camp experiences, the dining here is par at best and I think that may be over selling it.

Camp eagle changed my and all of my friend's lives. The counselors are amazing and fun (especially Beca jones she's the bomb) and your church group will leave closer than ever. It's active but it doesn't feel like work. The food is great. The place has a happiness about it that is contagious and I highly recommend this camp, you will leave as a new person closer to God and 10x happier.

I was a camper in 2014 for High School Discipleship 1&2 in the wilderness department (Eagle Quest, aka EQ), and then in 2015-2016 was a Walkabout student for 9 months where I got to live, serve, learn, and grow. The staff are absolutely amazing. The camp itself is in a beautiful spot, nestled right in the hill country at the mouth of the Nueces river. Camp has natural cliff faces for some bomb climbing, and some sweet trails to hike or to bike. Camp Eagle changed my life forever through biblical truth, outdoor adventure, and authentic relationships, and I gained lifelong friends, and a family. Highly highly recommend Camp Eagle for anyone, and especially recommend the Gap Year program as it will change your life. It changed mine!!!!

Came here summer of 2019 with my church. BEST WEEK OF MY LIFE, it is so much fun here. The cabins are more like a house then a cabin, the camp counselors are so amazing (shout out to Rylie and Carlos who were my grades counselors) and the activities are the most fun I have ever had in my life. Would definently reccomend 10/10

And the food is even better like it is so good

Great camp for the kids, so far looks like they learned a lot and had lots of fun. Looking forqard to returning.
One thing i would like for the staff to know is to make sure you warn parents that are coming to drop off or pick kids that its a rough road going in for several miles.
Very hilly, rocky, and muddy. There is a very shallow river crossing involved too.
Not good for vehicles with low ground clearance.
If i would have known i would have brought my suv or borrowed a truck.
I lost two tires now on my van due to the rough terrain.
Thanks

This camp is amazing. You learn wonderful things, create new relationships, face so many fears, and see the most beautiful parts of nature almost undisturbed.
At night, thousands of stars are visible. It's breathtaking, and I didn't have to travel far! (although it was a 7 hour bus ride from plano) When I was searching the sky, I knoticed ther was a long cloud-like mass in the sky. I wasn't cloudy that day, and I realized i was looking at a nebula, which has been my dream for so many years.
I highly reccomend this to people who dream to seen the stars, strive for adventure, and don't mind the heat. This place is perfect for adventurers of any type.

Great getaway from the big city. Mountain bike races plus lots of fun water activities on the river. Swimming, water obstacle cource, kayaking, rock climbing, repelling, zip lining, shooting, hiking. About 8 miles off the beaten path down a county dirt road, you are completely out of all cell phone range. Dormitory style rooms to rent. A cafeteria with good hearty food. Lots to see and do like walking across a pedestrian suspension bridge. If you are coming from the east make sure you stop at the Garven Store in Mountain Home, Texas for the best jerky in the world. Favorites are elk and honey turkey.

I love Camp Eagle. It is unlike any camp, adventure destination, or getaway in Texas. and because of that it can catch the unprepared visitor off-guard - for good or bad, depending upon your expectations and perspective. Camp Eagle pushes the limits in all their offerings (camps, mtn bike events, retreats, family camps) through their challenging activities. They are big in teachable moments and using what you experience to teach life lessons from the Bible (sometimes they are things we don't necessarily want to hear and cause us to confront some bad habits or wrong thinking). To top it all off, the staff are very friendly and very professional.

Keep in mind it is in outdoor adventure camp and not a resort. You won't find those types of amenities. They have a host of different accommodations on different campuses around their property. All the buildings have a/c unless you are doing a wilderness trip, then you should not expect it.

You should also know that they have a bumpy dirt road driveway off the highway that seems forever long. It seems like you crawl along when you come off the 75 mph road but I found it is good preparation for clearing my head and slowing down in preparation for the experience ahead.

Ultimately, if you are wanting an experience to grow in your relationship with Jesus and spend time with others who do too in an outdoor adventure setting, then I can't recommend a better place.
