Excellent must visit for all ages. Can't recommend highly enough. Reasonable priced admission which allows to leave and return throughout that day if you wish to do so. Loads of fun activities to join in with on the way around the building. Loved the historical demonstration and the amazing views at the top. Will definetly visit again
It is absolutely amazing there are lots of attractions in Scotland and the camera obscura is cool. There are lots of amazing optical illusions.
The show regarding the obscure was very informative!
Enjoyed the experience but not very accessible as only stairs hence we had to leave one of our parents outside. No good for disabled.
The mirror maze and vortex tunnel was a fabulous way to end a great experience. Well worth going.
Perfect place for having great fun, especially the older person, was there for 2 hours but you can go back later that day if you don't want to do everything at once , totally inter active
Very cool experience, is expensive but it's well worth it, a must do in Edinburgh, would highly recommend.
Fun for adults and kids! Stay for the show in the end at the 6 the floor.. Even if you have to wait it is worth it. The description may not sounds that great but it is really fun
Simply Amazing place. Must see on Edinburgh visit. Friendly staff and great views
So much to do in this museum! I had a nice time here. Staff is so friendly. You also have a nice view at the rooftop. A must-do!
Wonderful place. Lots of stairs so no good for disabled. But throughly enjoyed it
I went on Sunday afternoon and I had so much fun! Perfect if u wanna take really nice pics for ur instagram :)
Amazing place with lots of activities. Both children and adults will enjoy it. Wonderful views from the top.
Be aware there isn't a lift and you need to use the stairs up to the top.
Our kids really loved it.
Me and the misses had so much fun, so much interesting things going on
Enjoyed it but there was very little in the way of explanations on each exhibit. Leah gave an excellent talk on the Camera Obscura and looked after the crowd really well.
Nice place. 4 floors and a roof top offering beautiful 360 degree view. There are four floors with different themes. Some of the attractions are very good.
Went to Edinburgh castle first and then here, This is better and cheap than the castle, way worth the money. Loved it
Fabulous!! Great fun for all the family plus some beautiful views at the top! Highly recommend.
A great day out. Loads to see especially on a sunny day.
Great time for kids of any age. Some amazing illusions.
This makes an amazing day out for both adults and children. The actual Camera Obscura is good fun and you get a really different view of Edinburgh on a clear day. The world of illusions part is amazing you can spend all day there its all interactive and suitable for everyone! My favourite part is the spinning tunnel, You can get some weird and wonderful photos too.
Outstanding view of city, illusions were creepy but fun.
Brilliant very good place and great value for money
Camera obscura is a nice place to visit. Its next to Edinburgh castle and you can easily spend 2 hours exploring the place. Despite of fact that fact that physical contacts is required for various exhibits, the team performs regular sanitization. The view from the terrace is excellent. My kids enjoyed the mirror maze and vortex tunnel. We did 3 more rounds in both these as it was really exciting.
Spent a very enjoyable 90 minutes viewing all the illusions. The Camera Obscura itself always enjoyable.
Amazing place to visit. 200% interactive which is great for big kids like me...
More to see than I thought there would be. Can get a bit crowded, but really enjoyed it. A little expensive, but then all these type of attractions are in the UK. Would recommend.
Very fun place to go with family I have enjoyed most of the activities!! Lovely place to visit!! Would recommend
Amazing experience! We visited on holiday, my two year old absolutely loved it. Special mention to Snow White who was fantastic with my little man. Thank you very much!
Great day in Edinburgh. We had fun and loved the show on the 6th floor!
Great place spent a fantastic couple of ours there.... we'll worth the money
Amazing museum. Nothing like I had ever seen or will ever see.
It's fun, but not for everyone. This is for the young, not a bad group to be for. If you're older, probably too many stairs.
Both me and my daughter had a blast here with 5 floors of fun things to see and do and although Edinburgh was too dull for the Camera Obscura at the top to work well, the presentation was still good fun and we were offered free entry for the next day is we had wanted to return.
Ist time there yesterday and i really enjoyed it. Hated the stairs as i have asthma but that didnt stop me
It was interesting but think it was maybe more suited to younger children. Also a lot of stairs which was hard with a disability. However it was interesting and the staff were really good.
Great place to take the kids. Had a fantastic time here. You would easily need 2 hours to take it all in, maybe even longer! Amazing views over Edinburgh from the roof!
Great place, absolutely stunning illusions. Only problem is the entire place is a thin tower and an excessive amount of people allowed in, which is obviously a hazard nowadays. I would recommend, but make sure to book early so you can wait for people to finish their experiences before you can experience it too. Anyways, amazing!
A real hidden gem within the heart of the city. I've lived in Edinburgh most of my life and never visited with the kids. Truly worth a visit. Make sure you take the tour from right at the top.
Visited on the 29th Dec 2019, initially thought it was quite a high entry price, however, it is entirely justified! We were in a group of 6 aged between 10 and 70 years old and there was something for everyone. There was a little wait outside as it is very busy at this time of year, but worth the wait. Blane was brilliant as host for the demo and explanation of the actual camera obscura, keeping both adults and kids entertained and interested!
Been here twice and it never gets boring!! So worth a visit especially if you've got kids, its fun and interactive
I found it really fun and it messes up with you mind so much!!
Wow - had a brilliant time! Well worth the visit. Great views from rooftop!
You could spend hours meandering around the rooms. My girls absolutely loved it. View of Edinburgh is amazing. Late opening which is very handy
Loved it we waited 30 min que but so worth it very cool espicaly when yiu use the camera to spy on people its amazing allrightish price i guess about 24 pounds but we had 10 percent off as the obscurere was maked off and it was about 4 so sun go down soon
Great museum for everyone ! Adults and children will love it ! Very interactive, a lot of experiences, many surprising discoveries, I really really suggest you to fo there. The entry price is a bit expensive, but it doesn't really matter in comparison with what you're gonna see.
The staff is also very polite and joyful, smiling and funny, which is great !
Definitly, don't miss the opportunity to go there, rush for it, you'll thank me later. Have a nice visit, and enjoy the illusions !
Great educational place which kids and adults alike love
Very funny activity to do! Must do it! Must do it! Must do it!
Awesome place always visit this place when we go to Edinburgh! Ideal location on the royal mile. Can spend hours looking at the different illusions! Mirror walls were ok could have been longer, but limited space I guess! The spinning light tunnel absolutely trips you out! Was awesome kids loved it!
Most definately a place to visit well worth the time
Good fun but the light show stops when the sun goes down so go while it's light out.
It's really fun walking through the house. Try out everything! There are many things you can do for yourself and you will wonder about some strange things! If you try out everything you will need about 3 hours I think. It's fun for the kids and the adults
Quite pricey but enjoyed the Camera Obscura presentation and the other floors of optical illusions were great fun for all ages
Been here twice and I've loved it both times. There are many floors full of joy and entertainment for all the family. Although one thing to note, the tickets are a bit expensive.
3rd time here. Well worth a visit if in Edinburgh. Great for kids too
Fantastic place great staff so much fun to be had. So much to see and do. A must visit for everyone.
Really good place, lots of fun, so many different things to do, they also have a rooftop to have an overview of Edinburgh. If you come late afternoon you will have a half price ticket or you can pay full and the ticket will work the next morning so you can enjoy everything.
Fun place to visit with or without kids. Lots to do and see. Not recommended if you dont like stairs as no lifts due age of building.
Fantastic attraction. All the kids and adults in our group loved it. There are lots of hands-on exhibits and opportunities for fun photos. Once you have paid for tickets they stamp your hand so you can leave the building and return later. There are 5 floors but no lift so not suitable for wheelchairs unfortunately.
A lot of fun and interesting too. Expensive entrance fee, though, and they packed far too many people in in one go when we visited; numbers of people going in and out needs to be better organised, especially at weekends and during school holidays.
It's a lovely place. They do a show every 30 minutes, which is included in the entrance ticket. Do visit the show, it's a nice experience. It only lasts 15 minutes. The exhibits are also all fun. The mirror maze is scary, we were moving in circles for quite some time, but yeah, that's what it's meant to do!
Must see. The light show is just brilliant. Don't miss it
A bit pricey but is an amazing place and the stuff very helpfull ,a little advice dont go in the vortex if you have been drinking
I visited this educational entertainment center in 1995, I still have some info about it. I love it.
A bit over priced. Seen most of it before at the photograph museum in bradford which is free
Very educational and if you have children its a must see whilst in Edinburgh. Its a little expensive if like me you only wanted to see the observatory at the top. The views of the city are amazing, you can see all across the estuary. It can get a little busy at times, we went when the tattoo and fringe festival where on so it was very busy but still enjoyed it.
Had a fun time, would recommend going as early as possible so you get the best views.
You can get tickets in the ticket office and they tell you the time you need to go for the Lens Show. This is on the 6th floor.
They stamp your hand so even if you don t have time you can always go back later as your entry is valid for the whole day.
Lots of fun stuff to do with allot of interaction for kids so they will never be bored.
Hint if your arachnophobic, tread carefully in the 3D Wall poster room
Great place for the kids and even better that you can go in and out all day once you have paid
Great time had by all my kids loved it and want to go again and again.
Great entertainment! Well worth the fee. The camera obscura itself is a bit boring but everything else is definitely not! Go there during the rare occasions of bad weather in Edinburgh *cough*
Definitely worth a visit! Wonky mirrors, a tunnel that makes you feel like you are going upside down, mirror Maze, holography, optical cables, tones of optical illusions and of course the camera obscura! There's something for all ages. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that it is expensive, you want to stay at least 2 hours to make it worth the money! ...and there is not very good access- no lift at all, because it is a listed building (protected to reserve it's features!)
Fun and very informative place, definitely worth to go, suitable for all ages and interests. The vortex tunnel was awesome!
Good place to spend a couple of hours - lots of different illusions and interactive exhibits - a little on the pricey side though
Lived in Edinburgh all my life but never visited before. A real omission. Took my Grandson; he liked it nearly as much as I did! Well worthwhile.
Just under 100 steps to reach top. No lift so no use for wheelchair persons. Lots to see and great illusions. Fascinating camera at top.
