Cambridge Midwives Review

Going with the Cambridge Midwives was the best decision for the birth of my son. This being my first pregnancy the midwives were so incredibly helpful giving me the information to make informed decisions and made me feel comfortable throughout pregnancy. The level of care from the Cambridge midwives was excellent and I would go with them for any further pregnancies. The best part was the post natal care, being a first time mom and having them there when needed.

They clearly have favoritism. Unfortunately, i felt cast aside by my midwife. I was dealing with heavy depression during my pregnancy, then post partum, and that seemed to be a mojor factor in the care i was & was not provided. Sincerely disappointed and the effects are long term. Absolutely regret this decision, i thought it would help having a woman around for support, but that was a shroud not to be believed.

I have never been a patient here but I really needed to share something. I called this office last week in a panic when my GP was completely disregarding my high-risk pregnancy. The midwife I spoke to (wish I knew her name) talked me through things for 10 minutes and was very kind and empathetic. I wasn't a patient.. there was nothing they could do to help me themselves.. but yet she took the time to help and it meant so much to me. With everything I went through previously and afterward, it was so nice to have one person on my side and genuinely want to help. Thank you for this - it won't be forgotten.

I had an amazing experience with Cambridge midwives. My midwives were Melanie and Millie and I cannot say enough good things about the care they provided for me.

My postnatal care was superb. They respected my choices. They were always on my side. They were knowledgeable and honest and helped me make informed decisions. Because of immigration costs and no OHIP, they were aware of the financial burden and were always trying to lessen it for me, which I appreciated.

Melanie was exceptional when it came to birthing my son in the comfort of my own home. She made me feel prioritized and came out to check on me multiple times at ridiculously early hours when my prodromal labor started to slowly progress to active labor. Baby was posterior but she helped me use the contractions to turn him. She had a lot of different positions and methods up her sleeve to help him into the perfect position and to help him come out quicker. It was not like the typical birth you might see at the hospital. It was empowering. It was instinctive. At no point ever did I labor in the bed on my back. My baby was born with zero complications and we were both well taken care of after.

My postnatal care was also superb. My midwives seriously went above and beyond. Mille even cleaned a pile of dishes by my sink. They checked up on me quite a few times in those first couple weeks, making sure both Baby and me were doing well. None of us were overlooked not even my husband. They also cared about how my husband was coping with the new changes.

I would definitely recommend Cambridge Midwives. My midwives were personable, extremely competent, experienced, and made me feel safe and comfortable.

I love these ladies. I have had 4 babies with Cambridge Midwives. One was a stillborn and they have been so supportive and accommodating. I have used two different teams, and despite our previous midwives not being there for my last pregnancy, I fell in love with the new teams all over again! They feel like family.

Pam and Wendy were my rocks for 3 pregnancies, deliveries, newborns and postpartum care. We had some major joys and sadness welcoming 2 babies into this world and coping with the lose of one. Cathy was the one who answered the call when we didn't feel movement and despite not knowing her, I really feel as if she was the right person to deliver the news our baby was no longer living. It only felt right to finish our baby journey with Cathy after Wendy and Pam were on leave. She and Lise are an amazing team. Extremely educated women and they each have their own touch and personal style to their practice. They make a great team!

I also had the pleasure of meeting Melanie as a provider and she was also a lovely presence during the delivery and postcare. We did also have a student named Grace, and she was also lovely, experienced and very much a teacher at heart.

Sadly our care is over, but I know that you will find a team that you will love and feel absolutely safe and supported.

I highly recommend the Cambridge midwives! I just had my first this summer with the Cambridge midwives and it was an amazing experience. My Midwife and all the midwives that I met were very friendly and caring. They re not enough words to describe the exceptional care you receive during your pregnancy, your delivery and postpartum.

I have had all 3 of my babies with Cambridge Midwives. I just recently had my 3rd baby and had Melanie and Millie as midwives. I cannot say enough good things about Melanie! She delivered my 2nd son almost 10 years ago and requested her for my 3rd. She is very patient and knowledgeable and will advocate for the birth you want. I will be sad to say goodbye in a few weeks at the 6 week appointment.

I was able to deliver my little girl naturally with thr amazing help and coaching from Danielle, even thought the slight complications we had in delivery, Danielle kept very calm and handled everything so perfectly, I'm so grateful to have had the experience of a midwife and the aftercare is like no other! I would highly recommend these ladies to any expecting mom's out there.

I had heard great things about Cambridge Midwives so I knew for my second that I wanted a midwife team. Julia and Melanie were AMAZING! They always answer my questions and I felt like I was in good hands. The ladies at the front Louise and Fernanda are always so kind and very efficient! I can not say enough good things, my labour felt never ending but I had great support from Melanie and the midwife student Sarah- couldn t have done it without these ladies. Cambridge midwives you are all truly amazing!!!

We have used Cambridge midwives for the birth of all three of our children, two were born at home and one at the hospital. The care, compassion and support we received was beyond incredible- we were always educated about our decisions and empowered to review all information and make decisions that were best for our family, without ever feeling pushed or misguided. Even during a pandemic, when things were very strange and different, there was always guidance and very personal care (they knew our family and our concerns and helped guide us through with all those factors in play!). I can t imagine ever going through pregnancy, birth and postpartum without the support of these amazing women!

I have used Cambridge Midwives with my last 2 pregnancies and births. They are an amazing team of people. I still received great care during the pandemic. Neither of my births may have gone according to plan, but my midwives made sure that I felt heard while keeping both myself and my babies safe.

Hands down the worst part of my pregnancy. Delivery of care was borderline negligence on multiple visits. I wouldn't recommend to anyone.

I had my second child in the care of Cambridge Midwifes (I am also I pediatric RN) and I was very happy with the knowledgeable staff and care. I would recommend Cambridge Midwives to my friends and family.

I am so grateful for the opportunity to work with the Cambridge Midwives. I had Alexa and Ana Maria for both of my pregnancies. I felt like they went above and beyond to care for us. I am SO thankful for Cambridge Midwives. I transferred here late at 34 weeks pregnant from another office. First met with the most compassionate conversation from Fernanda when I was inquiring about transferring. Then the BEST care from Emily for the rest of my pregnancy, birth and postpartum care. I felt incredibly supported, heard and cared for. Our wishes were respected and Emily made the experience very personal, remembering my daughters name, all my birth wishes and helping advocate for me during a birth that turned out differently than we hoped for. I cannot thank you all enough. THANK YOU Emily! I will be back for baby 2!

Amazing! The team at Cambridge Midwifes have delivered all 3 of my babies! They are flexible (despite me being very stubborn) ,supportive, friendly, kind, knowledgeable and 100 other amazing things. Don't read any more. Call them and book an appointment!

My husband and I are so happy we went with midwives instead of an OB. The care we received from our main midwives, Alexa and Ana Maria was extremely impressive. They were so supportive, patient, and encouraging. Alexa, Tuesday and a student midwife (Elise) we re present for the birth of our son and we couldn t imagine better care. We felt so informed and that they had our best interests in mind the entire time. When Ana Maria and Elise visited us in our home for postpartum care they felt more like friends than anything, and helped us increase our confidence as new parents. As a first time mom it meant so much to me to feel like my birth experience mattered to them and I will totally be returning to their clinic for my future births. Thank you thank you!

I have a 3 year old son and a 7 month old daughter both delivered through Cambridge Midwives. With my first pregnancy everthing was so new and unknown and my midwives always made me feel supported and reassured with every decision I made. Then with my second they did the same with endless resources to help with any questions/concerns. I was fortunate enough to have two amazing home birth experiences that wouldn't have been possible without the encouragment and knowledge of my midwife team. Not only the support during pregnancy and labour but the after care support was above and beyond what I expected. I am forever greatful for how the midwives cared for my family!

Did not have a good expierence with them. My daughter was born with disabilities that they should have been able to pick up on. Unfortunately they never did and wouldnt ever send us to the hospital for tests. When it came to the birth they didnt know what was going on so they had to send us to the hospital. When we got there the dr said your water didnt break and checked and said the midwife should have known it was ruptured. They didnt pay enough attention. Also to add insult when my daughter was born she asked my fiancee if she was sure i didnt cheat because she looked black. She was darker because of her oxygen levels were low. Go to a dr dont use these people.

I can't say enough good things about Cambridge Midwives! I had my daughter in October 2019(our first child), and we had EXCEPTIONAL care throughout my pregnancy, at the birth, and postnatal care as well. We will be going back to them when we are ready to have more babies

First time mom.

My midwives, Corinne and Tuesday, we re great to work with. I felt like my baby and I were being taken good care of. The post baby care was also important to me and being able to page them in between visits was great. There is definitely a personal touch that goes a long way and would recommend both the clinic and my midwives.

We couldn't have been happier with the care we received at Cambridge Midwives! Birthing during this time was full of uncertainties but our care never wavered and I felt safe and supported all throughout my pregnancy, delivery and postpartum. Corine and Tuesday were so caring and so incredibly knowledgable. I will be recommending them to anyone who asks!

Cambridge Midwives made my pregnancy and birth exceptional. They are professional, polite, loving, caring, and never in a rush to get me in and out. I had a few issues and at one point there was a transfer of care to an OB, but my midwife checked in on my constantly to make sure my husband and I were okay.

When my baby was born, the midwives were with me the entire time, and kept the entire experience as natural as possible. I can say that there is no one else I would trust to deliver my baby.

From sharing my experience with others, the services and care Cambridge Midwives provide are far beyond any other midwifery clinic in the area.

I ve been with Cambridge miscues for 12 years and have had 7 children under their care! I ve had every kind of delivery and Cambridge midwives have been there every step of them way. The amazing pre and postnatal care has been phenomenal! They explain everything very clearly and give you all the options to make the best choice for you and your baby! I wouldn t have it any other way, nor would I want to. The one on one care you get during but more importantly, after baby is here, is outstanding! They not only care about your baby but actually care about you as well! THANK YOU, from the bottom of our hearts, for being there for our 7 children!!!

I had such an amazing experience with Cambridge Midwives. Cathy, Lise and Grace were a total dream team to work with!!

Cathy took care of me for the most part during my pregnancy and delivered our son. She did an incredible job reassuring and educating me throughout my pregnancy, and kept me calm and relaxed during my labour and delivery experience and made sure everything went smooth.

Lise was also so patient and understanding with all of my concerns. Grace was super knowledgeable and incredibly helpful during my postpartum recovery and breastfeeding experience, no doubt she will become an incredible midwife!

Louise and Fernanda were also amazing with speedy communication and keeping things moving.

Long story short the team at CM is amazing and I couldn t recommend them enough!

I had my baby this year and had the assistance with prenatal care and postpartum with Cambridge Midwives! My team was Alexa and Ana Marie and honestly, they were fantastic, supportive and wonderful. I did not have them for my birth as it was complicated with my baby and I had to deliver at Mc Master but I was so relieved to know that although we did not have that experience together, they still provided postpartum care! Alexa came to my house and made me feel safe in this time with COVID. The same is as it was in office; I always felt safe and confident knowing that my baby and I were well cared for. I hope that for my next birth that I will be able to have the midwives again as they always reassured me! In the mean time, thank you again to the whole team and to everyone for the support during this difficult time. Here are some pictures of us and our Theodore :)

I had the privilege of using Cambridge Midwives for both my babies. I loved everything about this practice; the experience of the midwives, the set up of the clinic, the ease of booking appointments. I was able to develop a trusting relationship with my midwives so that when things didn't go as planned and I had to go to the hospital with my first, I had confidence in my care providers. My midwives advocated so that the OB did not take over care and my choices were respected. With my second I was able to use the clinic birth pool and laughing gas so that I could be stay in the comfort of my own home. I definitely plan on using Cambridge Midwives again for my third.

My partner and I will be forever thankful to Cambridge Midwives. Julia and Melanie, my midwives, were there throughout my pregnancy to answer questions and guide my partner and I. Julia also delivered our baby! A day I won't ever forget. She was incredibly kind and helpful during my delivery. She made me feel safe and under control of my baby Joshua's birth.
We were also with Cambridge Midwives during the Winter until the beginning of Fall of this year (2020) as COVID-19 cases rose and fluctuated and despite the limit on number of people allowed, Julia and Melanie always accommodated by calling my partner during appointments so he would feel like he was there every step of the way. I was very thankful for that as it added some normalcy to these weird times.
It's been an unforgettable experience and journey and I'm so glad we were in such great hands. Thank you, Cambridge Midwives! When we're ready for baby #2, we will come back to you!

Last month I gave birth to my son and the experience with Cambridge Midwives was amazing. This was my first pregnancy and labour/delivery. Our team of Ana Maria and Alexa made sure we were well informed of our options, never pressured us in one direction or another and we always felt supported in the decisions we made. Their support and care stayed constant, event through the pandemic which added a whole new level of uncertainty to our experience. Ana Maria and Alexa are a fantastic team and we thank them from the bottom of our hearts for everything they did for us. I would recommend Cambridge Midwives to anyone looking for support from honest, open and genuinely helpful and compassionate midwives.

I recently had my second child, but first midwife experience, with Cambridge Midwives and would highly recommend them to anyone! My team was AnaMaria and Alexa, with Emily assisting during labour, and I felt very well-cared for throughout the whole process. Even with the added complications of Corona virus and needing to be induced, I felt safe every step of the way and they were very quick to let me go home from hospital. I recently had my last appointment with them (6 weeks postpartum) and will miss being in their care. Thank you ladies!

Sarah was our midwife and we are so so so happy with the way things turned out. Her support and knowledge comforted us along the way and we were able to have a water homebirth in our living room with our parrot watching! She even brought candles for us to burn our babies cord and we decided to freeze his placenta! All of the midwives that we met with were so kind, genuine, and made us feel so comfortable. They were very understanding about missed appointments and were never rude when needing to reschedule. We also had a student midwife, Katy, who was so sweet. We would definitely recommend letting a student attend if you are thinking about it. We loved that both Sarah and Katy would come over after the birth to check on us. They really helped with breastfeeding positioning and really answered all of the questions that we had. We are forever grateful for all of their support during our pregnancy, birth, and the time afterwards with our baby! Fingers crossed we'll be back soon to see Sarah :)

I had a fabulous experience with Cambridge Midwives. They are knowledgeable, friendly and I felt completely safe in their care during pregnancy and during the birth of my daughter (which I elected to do at home). The after care was fantastic (my daughter had a tongue tie which they arranged to have remidied quickly). I always felt like I had all the information I needed. 10/10 would use them again!

I learned more about what was happening with my body week by week and babies growth from a pregnancy app then i did with my midwives. Im not impressed at all with the midwives i was assigned with, they really had no care in explaining anything nor did they no much of anything. They say they come for home visits after baby is born for 6 weeks, they came 1 time and my baby is now 4 weeks, never bothered to even call and check on us. When i had a question about my baby they barely knew how to answer it. I was also a risk delivery with high blood pressure, had my baby at 38 weeks and they had to put me in the care of an OB because when god for bid things get a little complicated they can't handle it and thank god for it. FYI anything you want to know and you are stuck in their care, just look it up when i asked questions they said "it still to early to be asking these Q's" because its my first baby and most likely will deliver later then my due date, NOT TRUE. DO NOT BOTHER WASTING YOUR TIME! UGGHHH SO ANNOYED

I did not have a great experience unfortunately. This was my first pregnancy and I had premature rupturing of the membranes (PROM), when I was 26 weeks pregnant. My midwife was unable to diagnose that this is what had occurred when it happened, and after a physical exam, and I was walking around a few days until I was sent for an ultrasound. Ultrasound was able to detect this and I was put into the care of an OB. It was interesting that the OB was able to determine that my water had ruptured from a physical exam without question. I was lucky my daughter was not born during the days I was walking around with my membranes ruptured, as she was 2.2lbs when born and needed immediate medical attention and oxygen. I would not want to be in the care of a midwife after my experience. I do not understand why something that seemed so recognizable in the medical field was difficult for my midwife to identify. And, when she came to visit in the hospital after I was sent to the OB she said 'Oh phoo' about the situation. I was not impressed.
