Our child spent 2 years here and left w/low self esteem and below grade level in reading. We are at a new school, surprisingly with 2 other families who had the same experience we had. K-1 is just WAAAAY too young for children to hate school.

My daughter came to CMP in 6th grade and has now graduated from 8th grade last. Montessori introduced many new experiences to her through awesome (parent sponsered) field trips & excursions that public school never would have done.
Coming from one of the worst schools in SJUSD (Starr King), CMP Carmichael was a breath of fresh air. My son is now here on is final year of TK and we love it.

Both of my children attend CMP Carmichael, and we absolutely love it. The amount of parent involvement makes a huge difference in the opportunities available to the kids. They are learning so much, and I love that the focus is not only on the academics, but on life skills as well. My son is high-functioning Autistic, and the fact that he doesn't have to sit still in a desk all day is a life-saver for him. There is so much flexibility in a Montessori classroom, and the teachers really work with each kid to ensure they have what they need to be successful. I could not be happier with this school.

My 6th grader and 3rd grader have both attended CMP since kindergarten. We love our school, the teachers and community. Montessori focuses on whole child development. Just one example: last year the school brought on a full time counselor to help the kids with regular lessons on things like communication, mindfulness, recognizing and dealing with difficult emotions, etc. The ability to access a Montessori education through a charter school (tuition-free) has been a huge opportunity. There are some highly involved parents that make a huge difference, along with an incredibly dedicated staff of teachers and office support. If you are thinking of enrolling your student, please know that the enrichment programs depend on parental involvement (logistically - it s not enforced by the school but you should be prepared to participate if you want the enrichment programs to survive). The Montessori method requires a family commitment to your student s education and the school community to succeed, but for students that thrive on a love of learning and the freedom to excel at their own pace, CMP Carmichael is an amazing school!

We have been with CMP now for 3 years. My son came to CMP from public school where he had finished 1st grade. He did not enjoy school and did not want to go!
We went to Montessori because of the different teaching philosophy that encouraged kids to learn at their pace.
He now loves school, is very motivated to complete his work and enjoys the social life that is encouraged here!
If your child isn't enjoying school -Montessori just might make a difference!

My son is going into 4th grade, and we've been a part of the school since he was in Kinder. He's got above average test scores for reading and math. He wakes up excited to go to school each day.

This elementary school is exceptional in their teaching capabilities & has exceeded my initial expectations. Both my boys have excelled since starting school here & I would highly recommend this campus to anyone.
