They don t really help. When you phone them and transfer you, the person you were transferred to won t pick up the phone so you have to leave a voicemail message. When you leave a message, you ll never get a call back no matter how many times you phone and leave messages. When you email them, you ll never get a reply. Very unprofessional!
Complete staff is cooperating and helping nature to any new comer to CANADA who want initial support to engage him and his family in the new home called CANADA. Check website and schedule meeting to CCIS and surely feel confident after taking their advise and guidance.

The worst among immigration centres, I went there 2 times to book an appointment for getting fair entry referral letter. First time they told me send an email to your consoler and book an appointment and she didn't even bother to get back. Second time they told me we have your number and your email and we will let you know about your appointment and they never did. Worst of worst
The best Non-profit organization that would help you be a better individual if you are a first timer in Calgary. There are different classes been offered here to help you have a good settlement in Calgary and build you for what to expect ahead.

They are only interested in you to sign and authorize them to make money from government on your behalf. For one year they didn t do any useful work for me, I end up doing all the work by myself and use private lawyers for my case, refugees beware from this organization. Don t sign any document for them as they will milk the government on your behalf and do nothing for you

This place is a good start for Newcomers to know what services are available. You can find babies and toddlers, children, community, family, professional and job seekers, refugee, seniors, temporary, youth and teen services among other services such as Food Bank, referrals to get matresses for free, furniture for free, etc....
They also offer computer skills programs, life skill programs, among others.
The majority of the staff is really nice and sometimes the advisors speak more than one language. You can just walk-in or call them to book an appointment depending on your needs.
I recommend all immigrants should attend some of their settlement courses.
I took a Jump Start program and find a job in 2016 with help of CCIS Staffs!

I studied my English there. I came with high English level and my teachers were able to challenge my level and take me to the next level. They believed in me and were very respectful. The administration are very friendly people and consedrate for the immigrants issues also understanding for the culture differences. I am now preparing my certificate with bow valley college.
What a organization!!! Any new comer to Canada should make an appointment and stop into here to check out the services offered. It's an incredibly supportive environment that wants to see you succeed in Calgary. The staff are extremely helpful and care because a lot have been in your same situation, coming from different backgrounds and countries. The services offered are varied and constantly being improved to meet the needs of the changing needs. And at the heart of it's core, there is a team of incredible volunteers who give 110% every single day!
