Calgary Airport Authority Review

The scale of the airport is only considered to be quite satisfactory because there are friendly, friendly and helpful volunteers.
If you plan to go to Yellowknife Town to see the Aurora in the spring or autumn, it is better to go through the Emmonton Airport, because you can drop by Banff and Lake Louise to enjoy the world-class natural scenery.

No nexus lines through security on connecting flights, and only 2 terminals going through customs on connecting flights. long lines and rude staff.

Not as aesthetic as YVR, but it is still great! The new terminal, while more functional than comfortable, is more than adequate in accommodating passengers.

Sent down a crappy back hallway. No open shops. No food. Only to find out flight is delayed. Screw you customer. What a crappy pay me and screw you experience. This airport really sux to

Does anyone working there know how to perform their job? Was suppose to catch a connecting flight and got directed to the wrong area. Had to back track thru security and customs just for the staff there to confiscate 1 declared bottle of alcohol from Mexico that they said was " packaged wrong ". Keep in mind, the bag was once again bought thru duty free and they do the packaging. This is bs!!!! What do they do with alcohol they like to take?? And not to mention the 3 gate changes we had to track down n run thru the not so small airport so we didn't miss the connecting flight. CALGARY YOUR AIRPORT SUCKS! You guys do not deserve even the one star!

Most disapointing new airport, sterile austere, and life sucking come to mind. Makes Pearson look great.

my 1964 build house is now directly under the new pathway. We were here long before the airport and it's expansion plans and our former quiet neighborhood is now under seige by loud jet engine noise starting as early as 5:50am. Large noisy jets fly one right after another as many as 13 in an hour. I am not in a new community. I am not at the end of the runway. The airport chose to move the runway so that it now affects upwards of 100,000 Calgarians with constant noise. I've heard comments like - well this has been in the works for 30 years. I know that the size of these jet engines are recent marvels they didn't exist 30 years ago. I know that the airport authority did not go out to every affected community to warn them that they would be exposed to jet engine noise from early morning to late at night. There was no warning that chronic sleep disturbance would be the result of external noise. Mental health is affected. I am affected and I am sick about it.

Small, clean and organized. The rental car set up is very efficient

The new terminal is very nice. Security line seem to be pretty quick and there are many options for food. The duty-free is pretty large and lines seem to be pretty small all together. They seem to do a pretty good job of getting you through customs in a timely manner. Just make sure you have your documents filled out, and your passports are in available. Nothing annoys the customs officials more than passengers who are not prepared.

The new international terminal looks really nice, but there is just not enough seating and no power outlets. It's very Spartan once you get past the shops.

I have had the misfortune of going through Calgary International Airport too many times. On each occasion, I am struck by the confusing layout, perhaps inspired by a toddler's random Lego connectings (so try to get there way in advance if you are unfamiliar with it, as the confusion is exacerbated by the terrible signage!). There always seems to be some construction work going on, inside and out, but it doesn't appear to have improved things. Furthermore, have never been through a less efficient or friendly security line-up; made further worse if you need to queue through that sweatshop in the summertime (although you may get some relief from a portable fan for a period of time).

You also have my extreme condolences if you are going through this airport with small children (as my wife did earlier this year). Nobody will lift a finger to assist you, and even pleas for assistance at line-ups when one has numerous bags and is going to miss a connecting flight will be met with a "having children doesn't entitle you to special treatment" (seriously!) from unsmiling and unsympathetic airport officials.

Avoid.

A great airport should be defined by its customer service, efficiency moving through security, and the ease of navigating to appropriate gates; Calgary has all of these characteristics. The best airport in the country!

Most of the airport ambassdors are very helpful and friendly. However, one of the Ambassdor, Dan, is extremely rude and dont know how to respect.

When the construction is finished it will undoubtedly look and be great. Until then, the construction is a big nuisance

I ve flown from Calgary International Airport all my life and have seen the changes.

The airport is a small but big airport that is very easy to navigate with lots of help if need directions.

Look for people with red vests and white cowboy hats they are volunteers that will answer all your questions and all so point you in the right direction.

There is a shuttle service between all the terminals as well as moving walk ways, everything is well marked and easy to read.

There are shops and restaurants on both sides of security.

There is wifi throughout the airport and if you have Shaw wifi at home you will auto connect if your device is registered with your Shaw account.

Airport is very clean and the new international terminal is very nice.

im 76 and i just imigrated from africa. Cool story bro huh. the only disafieaction was dat bagg check. So I had a wad of tissus in my bagg. and a knife! ha got you all eh. Nope I had scissors and sunscreen. So the guy i swear he picked his nose with his hand and literally put it into my clean tissues. then he took my scissors (with his other hand still up his nose) and my sunscreen and chucked it right into the garbage can See i am a master of stealth. when mr. i Have No Hygiene turned around, i reached my hand into the can amd tookk them out and left. first time travelling also they would not let my pet hamster in myhair get on the plane. the food on the plane was sour i think it broke my taste buds also this guy sitting next to me, daveeeed (lean on the eee) puked into my lap when i offered salt and vinegar rice cakes to him then we went to corn maze then to earls. anyway..

I went to Calgary twice in three months. Friendly and helpful staff. Always a group of them walking around, offering help. Spots are not so hard to find, with all the International on the left side, and Domestic on the right, arranged by flights. The floor is shinny but not slippery at all. Restrooms are everywhere, all big and clean. Some shops are quite nice to spend time. Kids friendly.

Why is there no Gas Station still at YYC? Its been ages...absolute inconvenience, when time is your biggest asset and your running on a tight schedule, you have to return your car without fueling and get stung by the rental companies, they must be loving it. Get a GAS station!

YYC Airport is overall OK, its a bit dated but works, but a Gas Station at an airport is as important as a airplane at the gate.

Very easy to find your way in and around the airport. The newly added addition on the east side is great! The new technology makes going through customs and security a lot faster.

Home, sweet home. A nice airport that is easy to navigate and with some friendly white hats to help you along.

Great airport visiting for 1st time. Very clean a supply of restaurants or rest bars and the usual chain of fast food. I surly enjoyed going and coming from this airport. Will visit Calgary again soon a lot to see.

Last airport I know of that still has the luggage carts for free. Always a friendly environment and despite the occasional delay a good place to start and end any holiday or business trip.

Amazing helpful people offering assistance to get from one area to another. Love their red vests and cowboy hats. We have never had such eager help offered at any airport anywhere. Senior citizens really appreciated it.

If your in the gates 1-4 of domestic you do not get paging from the main terminal. If you have a gate change then you will not be informed. West Jets service to identify gate changes could be improved. They're are no display boards along the walls in the part of the terminal as well. Visually you won't be informed of gate change. Please take caution going to this part of the airport.

I've always enjoyed coming to Calgary's Airport, and recently had the opportunity to use the new terminal. I found that it took a lot less time to get through security at the new terminal, but that there were less food options available after making it through security.

The architecture of the new terminal is absolutely gorgeous! My dad and I loved how spatious it was since it never felt like there were too many passengers overcrowding the area. There's a lot of natural light and a ton of plugins for your devices while you wait to board.

There's also a lot more features with travellers who have mobility issues. I noticed a tram/kart that had its own lane to efficiently take passengers between gates very cool!

Pretty well organized and clean facilities.. couldn't ask for more!

Went thru here a day after everyone's flights were canceled...it was crazy with ppl but the line thru customs moved remarkably fast!

Very big, I liked the old installment better, but the newer one is good too. Plenty of food places around and other neat stuff. Airport hotel is good.

Nice airport. A fair bit of stuff to look at and a number of good photo spots. It is fairly spread out but they also have various transportation options.

I love flying out of this Airport, it always seem to be flawless & smooth flowing.

Worst transfer I have ever had. I bought Clinique face lotion at the airport in between domestic flights and the person had to "inspect" my airport packaged, vacuum sealed lotion. This took so long that it almost made me miss my flight. Ridiculous customer service. I will avoid this airport at all costs.

There's a lack of bars/lounges in the American departures area which makes for a boring wait. Otherwise it's an acceptable airport, nothing special.

Nice airport that is getting better and bigger, but isn't losing the small-town friendly feel. A nice airport to fly into, out of, and through.

Awesome except the bathrooms they could be cleaner especially with covid-19.

Very organized airport and gouped the terminal based on the aurlines. I like it very much. Ohh! Free wifi

Pros: quiet, nice design, well laid out, helpful staff, good dining options.
Cons: slow luggage delivery. Luggage carts controlled by squeezing handle to release brake are inaccessible for anyone with trouble using their hands. Wish they would offer standard luggage cart as well.

Good looking new and modern airport. Very clean. Only one feedback that i would provide - seating areas are real struggle. Need to consider this fact.

It ain t no Amsterdam airport. But still fairly good.

First time at the new terminal, we get to the gate (D80) and there is absolutely no seating at the gate! No seating at any of the gates that I can see. A few random seats in the corridors...but no seats at the gates! Whoever designed this and whoever approved the design should be fired! So, apparently bring your own lawn chair to Calgary airport! Not impressed at all.

An extremely unpleasant security experience. Disabled Veteran that self identified with mobility issues and knee braces forced to endure a security check all but strip searched and orifice check. Didn't have time to complete before collapsing. Unbelievable lack of respect and lack of judgement.

Where is all the people!!!

Recently went to Vegas but at least by my gate area there were no charging plugs or stations and air no signage for where one was close by. Not super happy if this is the complete product, multi million dollar extension with no charging outlets. Apse there was very little seating for the amount of people waiting at the gate.

Probably my favorite airport. It's big,You don't get lost in all the corridors or pointed in all directions. It is well maintained and clean. None of the seats in the waiting areas have cracked plastic, no crumbs or whatnot under the seat. The bathrooms are clean and orderly. Overall a professional clean environment. The staff are friendly and approachable too.
There is currently construction going on, but for the most part it doesn't impact your overall experience.
It's a favorite airport to go through for me.

This so called "Airport" reminded me of the bowels of North Korea. Concrete hallways reminiscent of Soviet era architecture. The place smelled like a goat. Would not recommend this dispicable farce!

Very big airport. There are free shuttle service available for one gate to others. Shuttle drivers are amazing. Sitting area is very good. You can sleep too. I had 5 hours layover, didn t get bored for a minute. Free Wifi available.

Some fog outside at 4.30pm. Announcements about delays due to it, as staff is missing. However the roads were dry this pm. Very slow Catsca at concourse C.

As usual, the information system is not updated. Our AC flight arrived late from elsewhere and no delay was announced. Passengers crowding up at the gate, without enough seats. Why so many small lies from Air Canada? Better stay at the lounge up to the moment the boarding is announced, even the gate is at the other end of the airport.

Everyone keeping their distance and wearing a mask. Not a lot of extra people in the airport.
I have more complaints about Air Canada staff how they missed treat the passengers!

Best airport in Canada. Well laid out, clean and friendly people. They now have the longest runway in Canada. The new Dreamliner made its first landing in western Canada this week flying in from London. Airport is world class.

Beautiful looking Westjet terminal.
Not traveler friendly. Too far to walk. Crammed and confusing boarding gates. Then another mile long walk to the planes. Insufficient vendor services. And real annoying and way too loud

I've been standing in line for forty minutes straight at 5am, what a joke

Clear indications within the airport. Staff and White Hat Volunteers are proactive and very helpful. Selection of foods available. Relatively clean washrooms. Limited space to sit, however, especially as you wait for another transportation service. Luggage available usually within 45 minutes.

Nice little play areas at the gates for little kids

Very clean safe environment, easy Access to get in and out efficiently, staff very accomadating,can be scary if you are late and don't understand how the flow goes but very nice airport.

Transfer here to international flights is very smooth. There is Tim Hortons in the secure area.

Calgary airport is great, clean and comfortable. There are many places to sit, eat and shop during stop over. It is a convenient place to fly within Canada and out of the country. Covid-19 has made many airports look like ghost towns and Calgary airport can handle more traffic than I witnessed recently.

This airport has by far the slowest luggage delivery of any airport I've ever been to. The new international terminal cost hundreds of millions of dollars and is brand new, but has even slower luggage delivery that the original building and it was brutal. I'm sitting in the Cell Phone lot writing this. Its 10:25 pm. The flight touched down at 9.25 and passengers cleared customs at 9:45. This is not the exception at this airport, it is the rule and Calgarians need to demand better.

It is a clean, practical and well-managed operation but it is realatively small and dated facility. Calgary is a significant center of wealth and can do much better.

This airport deserves my five-star
The facilities are exceptional, well-maintained and spacious. Tons of services available including passengers scooter, pay-per-use telephone services, etc. The HSBC space opposite Starbucks is definitely my favorite spot because of the Children's friendliness.
I will probably be adding more notes/pictures to this later on.

The airport is boring and bland! Just like the entrance to YYC, there is virtually no landscaping except for grass and dying or dead trees.
Let's not forget the boarding gate area for Westjet...I would like to forget it. Poorly designed so cannot handle passenger traffic volumes.

Very well constructed and staff are friendly and have knowledge about flight. They have a ton of waiting areas and charging stations. Good variety of stores and restaurants

The new international terminal is beautiful and well equipped. We just need a better system to get point a to be. The little carts don't always have enough space
