I don't know why when other gate don't have traffic ,those gate stay closed.Today I discover the style of international gate 31,I have been here before ,using other gates, but today the G 31 got 2 stars. And also immigration takes forever, just to say that some agents like Rubalcaba, told me ,go to another booth to verify fingerprints, went to the other booth and agent Weimer don't even bother me about the fingerprints. Rubalcaba sucks.

No more free parking for 30 minutes. Transit to and from the airport is practically nil, unless you want to wait for a long slow bus ride [only running just around business hours], or take an expensive taxi ride. Airport is nice: free wifi and baggage carts. No moving sidewalks for long walk from international flights. Maybe in the new terminal they are building?

Having been spoiled with our local YVR Vancouver airport, Calgary has a lot of catching up to do. Its ok, but seems dated and a distinct lack of amenities. Prices at restaurants is "sky high", but food was good. The Westjet terminal is something out of the 70's, really needs updating.

Ive been to worse airports however, so overall not bad.

I m sure I would have been a much better experience if I hadn t arrived at midnight with a missed connection flight due to delay from Vancouver. It was empty except for janitors and some security ppl.
Spent 4 hours waiting for the check in counter to open and get another flight booked. Small eerie desolate place with only a Tim Horton donut place open and bodega type place.
Was really clean and plenty of places to crash even though that was the last thing I wanted to do there. Good luck if you miss a connecting flight after whenever the airline staff leaves. You re on your own.

I've lived in this city for 8 years and always had an excellent experience at this airport. But something happened recently that made me write this review. I was returning with my family from Vegas. We passed the customs, collected our baggage, but got stopped at the exit point. There were 3 guys standing there whose job is merely to collect the printed copy of the declaration form. One of them asked us why do we only have one bag when we are a family of 5 people. We told him that we were only there for 2 days and, hence, did not take a lot of luggage with us. Then he asked us details about what places did we visit. Now first of all, he doesn't have the authority to ask us questions like that. I still wouldn't have minded if he asked as he's having conversation but he was actually trying to make fun of us. Everytime he asked us a question, he would look at his coworkers and they would smirk back at him. My dad has a little difficulty understanding English in Canadian accent, and it seemed like he was taking advantage of that just for his entertainment. This guy was of asian ethnicity and of high school age. I have no problem if they hire young people, but they should at least train them to treat people with respect. First time in my life, I felt disrespected at this airport. I'm disappointed.

The WiFi is free, which is a big bonus if you're used to traveling and need a quick communication message after you land. No Boingo! I would give the edge to Edmonton airport over Calgary but I know people who feel the opposite as well. Prices at the restaurant aren't excessive and there are reasonable options for shopping if that's something you enjoy doing. The layout is straightforward and there is a cozy lounge area by the Starbucks near the main C gates (56,58 etc). Try to get one of these seats if you plan on sitting for extended periods of time during a layover.

The airport is a bit dated but there are renovations happening at the moment. Free wifi. US customs is not yet computerized at this airport compared to other Canadian airports like Vancouver or Toronto Pearson, just ensure you have plenty of time.

Have been waiting 20 minutes to try and get threw customs and it looks like we'll be waiting another hour.

This is embarrassing. I've been to lots of much busier airports in the last 3 weeks and this is by far the worst organized I've seen.

Absolutely terrible. And getting worse. Is it pretty? Yes. Is it functional, especially for business travelers? Not only no, but hell no. I fly out of yyc 20-30 times per year, and the flow and screening procedures are terrible.

My advice if you have to fly out of yyc - get there early. Especially if you're not in Nexus or an airline preferred traveler program. Of course, those things don't matter all that much, as they just mean you get dumped into the free for all slightly closer to the screening facility. Secondly, don't check bags. The only thing yyc does worse than passenger screening is getting your bags off of the plane. Even with the ridiculously long hike from your gate to baggage claim, you'll wait 30, 45, 60 minutes for your bags. Yyc claims this is an airline issue, but I've heard their baggage handling capabilities are horrendous. Final piece of advice - if you don't have to fly out of yyc, then don't.

Flew out of the new international terminal and the new USA terminal. Security is horrendously slow as they often have only 1 or 2 lines open. The new terminal looks great but be careful of the information screens on delayed flights, they are not accurate.

July 13, 2020 - security was really busy with COVID-19 restrictions and had to wait in queue to drop off my checked bags. Overall waited 1.5 hours in the lines to walk straight on board the plane.

The new terminal in the airport is now open and there are a lot of food options to pick from. It's quite a distance between the terminal so they've added in a new Skylink driving service they can get you to and from quickly

Very nice airport, you can see the blue sky and the Rocky mountain even before you step out the airport.

Staff are nice.

Calgary is the gateway of the Prairies of Canada.

It's good to transfer flight in this airport.

A good enough airport thst has all the basic facilities. Not too many restaurant choices but the usual fast food ans a couple of Fine dining options suffice. If you are doing a layover then keep in mind that this airport doesn't have any sleeper chairs nor does it have the lounge areas where you can get some decent rest for more than 2 hours. Rental car services are available close to the airport. WiFi is terrible.

A bit disappointing that after all the renovation and money put into a modern airport the layout is not intuitive and the biggest down fall is there is only a 2 bin garbage system no composite no non bottle/can recycling.

Good size, too bad the american terminal is so sterile with so little seating options and sound design that carries a screaming child to earshot of everyone within. The domestic terminal however is great, and the international one even better.

This airport is amazing. It looks great, very modern on the inside and the trip through security is perfect. I think it s the first time I ve ever had my carry-on go through the extra screening and wasn t unpleasant to the security officer, simply because they did it so efficiently and were so courteous about it. The Marriott inside the terminal is extremely convenient for early morning flights as well. To sum it up, it s just a really pleasant airport to pass through.

Not a single wall outlet functioning in order to charge my electronic device. No one around to address the problem. Announcement speaker bass heavy and very difficult to understand announcements. Lack of modern amenities in comparison to any airport I've visited. Terrible.

Great designed airport.
International arrival was quick, seamless and easy.
Employees are nice and courteous.
Car rental pickup/dropoff is at terminal garage (aka no shuttle or tram).

This is an international Airport and very convenient for flights to most parts of the world. Especially USA and south America. All kinds of necessary services are available. Cool atmosphere. Hotels across the road. All rental companies across the road. Five minutes from major shopping mall.

If you parked at the short term parking area L1 you will be immediately facing the gate 13 of the international arrival area, however, you have to walk all the way to gate 9 (Canadian flight area)where the pedestrian crossing is located and walk back to gate 13 to access the international arrival area, a 300-400 meters turn around. Bad access planning.

It is a nice airport with lots of amenities. We find the parking rather expensive for those who have mobility problems so cannot use the cheaper long-term parking. There also needs to be more transport shuttles as the terminal is quite long.

Decent airport. has a few Timmies and a Purdy's as well. You get free wifi for an hour and I've never had a problem finding baggage carts. People picking you up can wait in their cars in the cellphone parking lot for free. If they want to come inside they do have to pay for parking though.

After a long flight you will come across a big welcome in writing. Super colorful and also gives a warm welcome! At customs we had to explain extensively what we were doing. I myself have never experienced this and that gave a slightly less warm welcome. Understand that it is part of it, but it did get a bit tickle.

Despite Calgary having a smaller population than Vancouver this airport is giant in comparison and really quite beautiful. Lots of little shops everywhere to grab some food or even some candy shops, truly a great airport. Even has some weird inside road with like crosswalks. Not sure what that's all about but it sure looks cool

Just went through the International Arrivals area. New facility that should do Calgary proud. The area was tidy and clean. Staff was helpful getting passengers opting for the covid testing to where they needed to be.

I've always enjoyed coming to Calgary's Airport, and recently had the opportunity to use the new terminal. I found that it took a lot less time to get through security at the new terminal, but that there were less food options available after making it through security.

The architecture of the new terminal is absolutely gorgeous! My dad and I loved how spatious it was since it never felt like there were too many passengers overcrowding the area. There's a lot of natural light and a ton of plugins for your devices while you wait to board.

There's also a lot more features with travellers who have mobility issues. I noticed a tram/kart that had its own lane to efficiently take passengers between gates very cool!

Do you know why Calgary Airport has so many awesome white hat/hospitality people? Because this is the worst airport in western Canada. Hard to navigate. No seating at gates. Yuk. Plan extra time to navigate especially if you are with someone who has a hard time getting around.

I would say the customer service at the airport wasn't my greatest experience! My flight was late leaving Denver and I had a tight connection in Calgary. I had to go through customs asked the security if I could go in front of the line. He told me no and pointed to the line up. All the people were friendly in line and let me go in front. Then I went to another section to catch the connecting flight I asked that security a young guy that I had less than 14 mins he said this line will go in 30 seconds (obviously) it didn't. Again the people in the line up were friendly and let me cut in front. I caught my flight just in time bc the friendly people and I will say the air Canada and west jet people at the connecting flights were helpful. With security definitely not and I've dealt with security in many airports including New York, NY. I've never had that experience where they weren't willing to help.

The airport staff here is probably the rudest I've ever encountered from all of my travels around the world. I was there for a layover to catch a flight from NYC to Vancouver with only 20mins to clear. The customs person I encountered asked for routine questions - who was I staying with (my boyfriend), their address, phone #, what my profession was, etc. They also asked me if I had a return ticket, and I showed it. At this point, I only had 10 minutes left, and this person asked me if she can see my phone to look at any message exchange I had with my boyfriend. I naturally refused as it was a ludicrous request and an invasion of privacy. As she was asking this, she was also calling my bf I was staying. She told me that if I wanted to make it on the next plane, which was about to leave me, I better give her my phone. Desperate, I handed it to her. She scrolled through the messages, while asking my boyfriend questions to see if our story matched. When the call was done, she let me through the gates in silence.

The point is that I understand that they have these routine things that they do, especially due to the current political climate with an influx of Americans coming in, but abusing their authority when a person is clearly desperate to make their flight is unacceptable. All the documentations were provided, and she still insisted to invade my privacy. I've gone to countries that require multiple visas just to visit, and never have been treated this way. Calgary doesn't have much to offer with the exception of Banff and the stampede. They need to calm down.

Arrived here from the United States and had a connecting flight to another Canadian city. We were directed essentially out of the airport by customs after screening. Had to go back through security and walk quiet a distance. Thankfully we had a bit of a wait or we likely would have missed our flight.
Confusing airport.

This is a complaint about MARY ANN @ Air Canada, infront of door 11, departures, between 11:00-11:30am.
In summary, she was very rude and ignorant.
We came from Abu Dhabi with 3 bags (one of them being free, because I am a gold member with Etihad, UAE EMIRATES).
I am now going back, SHE said that I am not entitled for ANY baggage. How am I supposed to come here with 3 bags, but go back with none?!
I called Etihad the night before and they said that Air Canada MUST respect their rules.
BUT MARY ANN, ignored that.
An african american girl was helping us out, but she needed assistance from MARY ANN because she was rather new.
We knew that they had to respect Etihad s rules. MARY ANN said DON T GIVE HER ANY BAGGAGE on the side (as if we didn t hear her say that).
Mary ann didn t even greet us, she did not have a pleasant voice towards us (I hate to say it, but she seemed rather racist). She was SO nice to others of other races (not going to specify), but when it came to us, a WHOLE different persona overcame her, WOW.
When we asked for her name she asked in a really rude tone WHY , like? Think about your words and actions.

Fix yourself and get trained more MARY ANN.
