I went there for the first time today. The road to the farm is terrible so I'll probably mostly get deliveries from here out unless I want to bring my family to visit. It's a great place to bring your kids to see how a dairy farm operates. There are some things I'd still like to ask about how they operate that I didn't have time to today. I bought creamline milk and drinkable yogurt. It's was great. The milk especially.

I will leave a comment on their website about the road, and we will definitely come back in the spring and summer. We love it there!

I had heard rumors about the animals not being cared for here but after multiple visits I am really impressed with how very well cared for the animals all are. They are also really committed to education and welcome tours and questions. I have been at both birthday parties and school field trips here and they have all been great experiences for kids.

I always enjoy a day at the farm with my family. We love getting the fresh ice cream and they have many flavors to chose from. They also have a nice little store that you can buy fresh dairy products like milk and butter. We always have to buy some chocolate milk for my son, it's his favorite. My kids love seeing and feeding the animals.

Open, free space for petting typical dairy farm animals (goats, sheep, turkeys, cows, peacocks, ducks and geese, all except donkeys -ha!-). Free parking and welcoming environment. You can buy food for the goats or trick them with the conveyor belt. Summer might be the best time for visits but it is worth to try even during a mild winter day. A section of the farm offers a "milking educational exhibition" two times a day (5 am and 4 pm). Tons of old farm equipment antiques. Potties, no restrooms. There're always fair priced dairy products to buy (bring your cooler) and it's not too far from the highway if you are driving nearby. I won't suggest visit this farm on a rainy day unless you have tall rainy boots and a loose cleanliness policy for your car.

Just a fun, fun learning experience for the kids. Free except the food you buy for the animals ($2.50/bag). The ice cream is hands down still my favorite EVER! Fun on the farm. Go early to see all the animals active.

Did the tour with my family and loved it. Got to feed ducks, fish, geese, goats, sheep and cows. Had the opportunity to pet ponies, cows, goats, sheep and pigs. Wrapped up by milking a cow, taking a trailer ride behind a tractor and eating ice cream. Staff was incredibly nice and made the tour very enjoyable.

We had 4 cake cones (banana, cookies and cream and 2 chocolate) . No kids portion or cups unfortunately.so expect big portions and some sugar rush from your mini me/s definitely.

My 3 year old banana ice cream wasn't compressed firmly on the cone and it landed on the floor 3 seconds after it was passed to him, we used some napkins to clean it up and when we told the staff of what happened to the cone (this is while waiting for the 3 other cones to be ready) , she did not have a reaction to it and continued scooping on the other cones without any form of acknowledgments.

We are not looking for apologies nor wanting to ride on a free cone but i think it is just unpleasant to be paying for something that you did not even get to enjoy.

Our first time there and sadly, we won't be back anytime soon.

Great place to take kids to interact with other animals. You can feed them and they will come right up to you you just have to be careful that they don't nip at you. There's a lot of toys for them to play on and the stores nice to.

I bring my wife and kids here every fall as a tradition because my family growing up has done the same thing every fall. I posted over 20 photos because there is alot going on here and the environment is amazing lol! Love supporting local businesses and they have the safety of everyone in mind during these times with proper cleaning products and guidlines available!

First time I have ever been to the actual farm and I must say it was pretty cool! I grew up in Lincoln Park and we always went to calders to get our chocolate milk and on a special occasion we would make a stop to grab some ice cream!

Fun day at the farm. Took a field trip here and the kids went on a tractor ride, fed most animals & milked a cow. Everyone loved the ice cream, too! A quick note, the road to the farm is atrocious- be prepared to go slow & expect a bumpy ride.

Great place for kids. Small farm but able to interact and feed animals. They sell delicious ice cream! Animals seem well taken care of and friendly around people. Bring your boots because you will be bringing some poop home.

First time I visited this place was when I was four years old back in the 80's on a school trip. Now I bring my kids here, they range from 10 to 17, and they all enjoy the experience even in this tech driven era. The ice cream is extremely rich and delicious. The glass bottled milk is the best. I love how you can still interact with the animals, petting and feeding them. The milking of the dairy cows is an intesting lesson.

It is soooo sad going there, the little calves have no water and they are crying for their moms, they take them away in one day. It is so hot, I told the cashier that they need water and she said they were fine. I said you are sitting here in the air conditioned store eating ice cream and they are fine? Hate that place.

Needs an update. Nothing's changed in 20 years. I want more interaction. Maybe tours showing the process. (Not just for field trips) maybe some informational signs about what goes on and the history of the place.

I used to take my nieces to the farm when they were little. Now that I have children of my own, I wanted to do the same with them. It's been years since I've been there, and they've really added a lot of new things for animals and the children to enjoy. It's even better now than it was before. We'll be going back again for sure!

Found this fabulous place from a sign on the side of the road. They have a cute little country store and the BEST ice cream we have every tasted. Take time to walk around the farm and check out all the animals, it's a time well spent. The ducks are pure joy just to watch.

I loved bringing my 3 year old here with my mom. She saw all of the animals and had a great time. It was a bit concerning seeing the build up in the pigs pen to the point where the pigs couldn't walk to the other side because there was so much. And some of the cows had matted poop packed all the way around the tails which seemed uncomfortable for them. Some parts of the farm looked like it needed some more attention. Other than that, I would give 4 stars for entertainment. We bought fresh milk and ice cream from their store. My daughter was also able to bottle feed a baby calf. I would definitely come back with her.

A super family oriented place that you can see all kinds of farm animals. I had the ice cream in a sugar cone from their parlor and it was very delicious. Perfect fit for a hot summer day. They have a shaded area that you can sit and enjoy your ice cream if you want to have a seat. You can also buy food to feed the animals which was a good time seeing the animals approach knowing they were going to be fed. Highly recommend and bring the whole family since everyone will have fun.

Calders produces farm fresh dairy products for sale and makes amazing ice-cream. Half gallons are availale for sale to take home - I highly recommend buying one.

This is a great place to teach your kids about the connection between farm and food. Visiting here with family is ideal. There are multiple stations with feed for the animals available for purchase at a reasonable price. You can walk around to see the cows, peacocks, peahens, goats, sheep, roosters, chickens, geese, ducks, ponys, turkey, etc. I really love this farm - check it out!

This is a local favorite of my daughters and I. I took her a couple days ago and while pulling down the long drive there is a field on the left to which they keep cattle and some horses in. On our way in I noticed a cow had just birthed a calf as it was still laying on the ground and momma was licking it. My daughter (11) and I pulled closer to the fence line to watch this amazing moment (giving other people plenty of room to get by if needed) only to realize the calf was stillborn. I immediately called the front staff to inform them and they let me know that someone was on the way. No sooner did I hang up I seen the team coming with an excavator. My daughter and I were in no ones way, not bothering the crew, in my vehicle and the excavator had entered through a gate further down by the farm. After a short time the crew rudely walked up to the gate and told us we needed to leave so they could do what they needed to do. I understand death is a touchy subject for many but why leave pregnant cattle in a field along the driveway for all to see knowing death is an unfortunate part of life but it happens? I don't know why they made us move but I feel the staff was very rude about it and how they handled it. My 11 year old even asked why we had to move when we were in no ones way. Other than that the hr or so we did spend there was nice. A nice gentleman let my daughter feed a bottle to another calf they had in the farm area and due to it being spring there were a lot of babies. One more thing I will add though is the ice cream I got had black rubbery pieces in it. I don't know if it is from the scooper or something accidentally got into it but my daughter didn't have any in hers. Overall I think the staff should be trained in these type of circumstances and learn how to handle the public better when it comes to situations like the one that arose.

Still a great place to take the kids. They have goats, sheep, ducks, and geese that you can feed. Feed costs are fair. The best gem for me is 2 farm cats that are very friendly. They love to be petted.

Nice experience. There is a store that sells candy, dairy products, and small bags of animal feed. The cashier's are nice.

The kids get a close view of the farm animals because the animals come right up to the kids looking for food.

There are lots of animals. We saw cows, goats, ducks, geese, chicken, peacocks, and cats.

I have been a fan of Calder's Dairy since childhood. I grew up down the road, and we always looked forward to riding our horses down to get ice cream. I brought my kids here for visits, and now I bring my grandkids. The staff is wonderful, the farm is clean and well organized, and the Calder family does a wonderful job of letting children and adults see a real working farm. The farm kindly adopted our Moscovy drake when his duck family was decimated by a raccoon at our farm. Truly a fantastic family, and wonderful family experience.

It was a nice visit in the evening with our 2 year old that ended with ice cream. I liked the ice cream, I got chocolate chip cookie dough and it wasn't super sweet like ice cream usually is. It was creamy and delicious. After reading reviews, I was expecting "a ton of things to do" but you can feed and pet animals and buy food in their little store, that was about it. Seems like there would be a lot more to do if you did the group tour they offer. Wish we could take a tour but I don't have 15 people to take, hah!
