I had some kitchen odds and ends and I came across Calbag Metals for metal recycling. I have never been to a metal recycling location before and the folks at Calbag made me feel comfortable bringing in my few items for recycling. Nice to feel good about doing something so small.

We have done our share of picking up loads here. It gets a bit tight for the big trucks coming in. Everyone here has always been great. We have always been loaded in a timely manner and the office staff is very friendly. Hubby was always offered a snack or two. :) This place is like a maze and it can be entertaining watching people unload their items. We have watched some crazy things here, they do get the job done!

The prices they offer are half of what you can get at other scrap metal places. The only positive is that they re close to downtown. Buyer wasnt particularly professional but i didnt really expect much at a junk metal place. Go here only if you have no other place closer to you or you dont really care about getting the best price. On a side note, its hard to breathe inside the docks area likely due to metallic dust particles from crushed metals. prob not the healthiest to be there. would prefer if you didn't have to step inside the docks as a customer to complete transaction.

so while struggling to get through this shut down of normal life i turn to my part time recycling in hopes of making alittle money to be able to by food, and i call cal bag only to be told i cant bring my metal in unless i am part of a company, but they are still taking company metals... why is it that the company's who are working already can make more money but because im by myself im not aloud? are they immune to illness? it is a necessary thing to eat, and without money i cant do that... thanks calbag, for showing me that once again if your not a big biz your nothing... why are you open if your not necessary?

I am the Office Manager for Auto & Work Injury Center and we contacted Calbag Metals because we were doing some construction at our office and we had a ton of steel and aluminum that we needed to get rid of. We had also contacted another metal place and received a quote of 65 cents for the aluminum. I made contact with Calbag Metals and asked if they could match the price of the 65 cents and Dave told me YES that he could do that. When we received the check it was priced at 60 cents and not 65 cents. I called Dave and informed him of the missed quote of the 60 cents and not the 65 cents he apologized and said that he would cut us another check for the difference. I called him two days later to see if he was going to bring the check by and he informed me that he thought about it and he could not honor the 65 cents. He said "he heard 60 cents" and that's what he wrote down and so he is not willing to honor the 65 cents. So I explained to him that he definitely said that he would honor the 65 cents and I asked him was his word not bond? He went on to say that he could just not do the 65 cents and that he is going to stand on the 60 cents and then hung up on me. Please make sure that if you have any kind of metal, DON"T USE this company as they don't stick to their WORD! Dissatisfied company.

Hi Everyone! My friends kids and I picked up some brass shell casings and soft lead from various shooting spots up in the woods. We found Calbag Metals and their staff were very informative and polite! While we were a little disappointed about having to receive a check and not cash, the scalemaster "Shawn" explained everything in detail to us! While the "other big name" scrap metal buyer up in Tri Cities gave us a check on the spot we totally understand the rules regarding the selling of scrap metal now here in Portland thanks to the scalemaster. He treated us with respect and answered all of our questions! When we pick up more brass shell casings, we will bring it there to Calbag Metals. Thank you guys for taking the time to explain things to us!

This is a very professional and easy to work with metal recycling business. We had been acquiring lots metal display racks and fixtures in my business over the past decade and it felt like it would be too big of an undertaking to get rid of ourselves. I contacted Jason and he came out to look at what we had, a week later a huge container was brought on site and we were able to correctly dispose of all our metal waste! Thanks again!
