Horrible! Absolutely horrible door staff. There were people waiting in line for an hour or more and the door staff continued to let in friends and people they knew. When asked what time people would be let in the staff told people 11, but that time came and went. People continued to freeze outside while the door staff ignored them. This establishment is not a place for people who want to enjoy a bar and listen to music. It s for friends of staff only.

A pleasant surprise! Live band bar that makes a very interactive show with the audience and often causes the audience to get up dancing in the tight space between tables. It is important to make a reservation and try to buy a drink to stay in a good place, as you may have your back to the show.

Go elsewhere for music in NYC. Seated at a bench between two tables with no table of our own. Billed for the cover charge, the one drink per person minimum and a 22% gratuity. Complained to the manager as we left after 20 minutes with no result. In Greenwich village go instead to Small's or Jules Bistro or even the Blue Note . Better yet go up to Harlem at Mintons or Paris Blues or Showmans. Rotten experience.

Always a great time at Cafe Wha?

Always a great time at Cafe Wha?

This was my 5th time here, and first time to stay for the second show. The entire night was amazing. This band has always rocked, and after 11 years of visiting, I can say it still rocks. If you re in NY and have a free night on the weekend, go to Cafe Wha? and enjoy the House band. Lots of fun.

The food here is pretty good for bar food. The chicken tenders and the fries are excellent. Chips and salsa, not as much (chips are just ok and the salsa is a form of pico that has little flavor and is hard to pick up with the chips). Wings are pretty good, nothing amazing.

Great as usual even with all the adjustments for covid & precautions for safety. Live music, great food but with ok drinks. The atmosphere was priceless however and THAT makes up for any complaint i have in this review.

Reservations don't matter to them. They'll make you wait outside in long lines no matter what the weather is like, and there's no guarantee they will even let you in. I waited outside for 45 minutes in the pouring rain, and it was so cold; and they still didn't let me in, and I had a party of 6 inside.

Exceptional atmosphere. Stage trodden by Springsteen and Dylan. Live level music. I happened one night that did various rock cover Bruno Mars, Prince really good. Kind staff. Normal prices, you pay a fee for the music but it's worth it. To spend an evening if you like music.

House band was absolutely amazing. Lead singer s pipes were unreal. Fun environment, great playlist, engaging and interactive band. Absolutely recommend attending. Good, prompt service. Comedian at the beginning was subpar but band more than made up for it.

What a magical place, sensational environment, incredible music, it seems that you were transported to another place! Service is not the best, however the music makes up for everything! Very worth checking out

We were looking for something to do on a rainy Monday night in the village and stopped by this place. They had an authentic Brazilian band and some great $5 caipirinha specials. It was a great atmosphere and it felt like a Saturday night! Definitely must see their Brazilian band if you re looking for some fun on a Monday

It is the worst management and bouncers in the city. They were mean and disrespectful whole night. We called the manager and a crew member was arguing with us saying we don't have to come back again. Poor management and not a good choice

A friend went there yesterday and had a very bad experience. The Cafe kicked their group mid diner, still required them to pay cover + $20. Police was involved, supported my friend, but the overall experience was such that he said he'll never visit there again.

The staff, especially Fernanda, was amazing! Smiles for days and always on top of our food and drink refills and needs.

The band...simply WOW! Unbelievably entertaining and engaging!

Hands-down a experience!

Historical place where for example Bob Dylan or Jimi Hendrix played. But I think at those times the club was quite different. They are now just profiting of the name and putting some cover bands. The night is divided into two parts, so if you want to stay in both parts you need to pay the entrance twice.
