What a nice place for a nice bite and / or a nice drink. Both lunch and dinner. Regularly a new card. The atmosphere is always good. Prices are average and always nice staff. Especially the Friday and Saturday are often crowded and a reservation is recommended.

Cozy restaurant with a nice atmosphere. The service is nothing to criticize and the food tastes great. Only the menu is a bit on the small side when you come here more often.

Last time me and my wife got sick after eating the chicken meal salad (coincidence?). ... eaten again last Saturday (no meal salad) but it seems like it is getting less .....

Very nice restaurant/cafe with very nice people where I personally dine almost monthly. The cafe is situated in the small village of Spaarndam along the old village main road. I recommend the mixed grill plate.

Keep returning to this nice restaurant. Good place to bring the family. I've only ever been on a Sunday and then the place is very busy, so probably a good idea to check if a reservation is needed if you're in a hurry. And if not, and you don't have a reservation, you can simply enjoy a drink at the bar and wait for a table to become available. Service with a smile is quite literal here. Very professional and accommodating staff. The food is excellent and although the place was packed we didn't have to wait long for our meal to arrive. Definitely a recommendation!

If you need a simple bistro meal then choose this location. Eaters receive preferential treatment as we experienced when on a Sunday we were asked twice within 10 minutes to leave our table while we were trying to enjoy a drink ... The terrace along the front is right next to a fairly busy road over the narrow dike. If you want to drink something after a cycling or walking tour (whether or not accompanied by a bitter garnish), Cafe Spaarndam (also known as the Kolkje), 100 meters away, is the better choice. Friendly, personal service and a beautifully situated terrace next to the old lock.

Cozy dining place with very good food and excellent staff.

July 2015, we stayed in a nearby home, and chose to eat there the first night because of its location and the second night because of the terrific food, reasonable prices and enthusiastic local atmosphere. Having dined at many restaurants across western Europe, our clear favorite is Cafe de Tourist. Despite its name, it seems far from the typical tourist track. A true gem.

Dutch gastro pub while maintaining local pub feel. Staff friendly and helpful. Food and beer good, very good. Looks like a decent wine selection, though didn't have any. Would go again if in the area.

Good food, reasonable prices, friendly service, special interior, which can be seen as a confessional, turned out to indeed come from a church, but it wasn't. IPA on tap what you drink from a kind of jam jar very special.

And of course the most important thing, good company, but you have to bring that yourself.

Cozy atmosphere and an excellent menu. Plenty of choice for both starters and main courses. The specialties and daily specials are always good too. The relaxed atmosphere also makes it a great place to bring children.
