People fail to realize how difficult it can be to run a facility where people are very demanding and they place blame where it ought not to be placed. It s a difficult and emotional experience to have a family member in a nursing home. I know people who have family members in this nursing home and they say the same. However, they all agree that Cabrini is the best place for their family members because of how much time and effort the staff puts in.
I would 100% recommend this nursing home to anyone looking.

your parent will be sedated each time they complain of a pain;they Not given all their meds -personal items stolen; administration will turn a blind eye!
My mom was there for rehab following a hip replacement. The rehab people were fantastic..kind, caring and skillful. The medical staff was subpar. The nursing assistants were not always respectful and were sometimes rough in their handling of her. She did not often get her pain medicine on time and her rehab was delayed. She was constipated and not given enough stool softeners and became impacted. The doctor was brusque and did not treat her cough in a timely manor. She was admitted to the hospital with the flu and pneumonia. I would NEVER recommend this place if one has medical needs along with rehab.
This is not a nice facility. Nice water views and well manicured grounds but inside staff are inattentive and do not care about their patients and this unprofessional neglectful attitude extends to all levels of personnel. This type of behavior is tolerated by those in charge because some of them display the same behavior. They are often short staffed which means the number of residents assigned to each aide and lpn is often more than the state allows, which is a safety concern. Improper monitoring of residents throughout the day and night which lead to unexplainable problems and/or injuries. Simply put there is no accountability should a problem arise the courtesy extended is a shoulder shrug with no solution or resolve. Human beings deserve better treatment regardless of their physical condition. They deserve to be not just in a visually clean environment but a safe one as well. And this should apply to every resident. Change and action are long overdue at this facility and it needs to start from the bottom up. Turning a blind eye or ignoring people s complaints do nothing for patients well beings. Those that sit at the head of various departments are out of touch with what really goes on as they are not on floors long enough to see it for themselves. The unprofessionalism and denial of problems keep the standard low and patients suffer as a result, which is a disgrace. Mediocrity should never be the standard for patient care!!!!
My mom has been in Cabrini for 2 years. I could not be happier. The workers & volunteers are very kind. There s a special place in heaven for all of them.
Staff speaks like animals on the phone. I would expect professionalism when I call a medical facility of any kind. I have great concern with my sister being in this facility. Worst of all, I am Catholic, and this is labeled as a Catholic facility. Heartbreaking.
I wrote a review about 2 months ago in haste(due to stress of having my mother in rehab again). I will not change my mind on the dining room being understaffed but that being said. I can not in good conscoius say our experience was bad. Actually it was far from that. The aides are the BEST; always smiling, warm and caring. The nurses the same. Even the gentlemen that clean are friendly. The facility is Clean and warm and inviting. They have a cafe(privately run) that has very good food; when family comes to visit or patient wants to eat something other than "hospital food". The therapists in Rehab are all as nice as can be. All and all , if you have a love one who is good natured, gets along with others and has positive disposition, this would be a great place for them. Heck, I would be happy! They try to have activities and entertainment as much as possible. We were here during the Christmas holiday and the place could not look more beautiful and had lots of festivities. If you have a negative, cranky, never happy loved one- what the heck they are not going to be happy anywhere even if it were the Taj Mahl!!! Be assured They will be very well taken care. I also still feel, you have to make sure the meds are correct, and you stay in contact with the staff. No one is perfect and mistakes can be made. One bad apple should not ruin the whole bunch. There are a few people who need help in "people skills"(And you know who you are) Sandy Schrier head of social work is lovely and always willing to help. I would have no reservation to recommend Cabrini to family and friends and anyone who is looking for peace of mind in finding a good place for their loved one.
