We are regulars, living a mile up the trail and are typically in at least once a week. We ve been patrons for 3 years and have gotten to know servers and management and watched as things have evolved. Beer: awesome, even the new ones; this is what keeps us coming back. Food: detestable. When you call yourself a tavern, we expect bar food, akin to the Vienna Inn. The Commons at least has sharable food, like wings and pretzels. The Tavern has rabbit gnocchi and kale salad. When half of your population is biking in from a 30-mile trail ride...who wants rabbit gnocchi?? I would so love to recommend you for more than beer and outdoor space but we warn everyone, make sure to eat before you come as you may starve to death avoiding $6 small cups of fries and $7 pieces of cheese. When they closed for a weekend in Feb to refresh, we sincerely hoped they d removed the kitchen to add more seating and get a food truck...it s a great model that s worked for many breweries and allows for a laser focus on the beer! If you have to be a gastro pub, be more like City Works (just opened, Tyson s @ Capital One). They re upscale but at least they have flatbreads and nachos! I would kill for a flatbread at Caboose. Keep up the great brewing...just, food-wise, be less like Blend and more like the Inn...or Sandwich Shop...or City Works...the Biergarten...any place featuring beer...
