as swanky as it gets on Glenwood.. this place has got the charm, the decor, and the atmosphere in spades! Lounges that look like they come out of the Great Gatsby with chandeliers and red velvet curtains. Live music is often jazz and always good! Cocktail list changes every few months, and there's always a few that I really enjoy. Keep me coming back for more :)

Great ambiance, waitress was friendly, a little inattentive.
Drinks were meh, my wife's Gold Rush okay. This might have been the worst Manhattan I've had in years. There is more to a Manhattan than Bourbon with a cherry tossed in. I got none of the under notes from the bitters or vermouth. The coloration implied they were in there but the flavor didn't.

Great vibes! The jazz band that played tonight was great. The bar selection was extensive and the bartenders were excellent. All employees we came in contact with was very friendly and efficient. 4 stars only because of how crammed it was in there, there was very little seating but two full bars lol (though I suppose it adds to the ambience). Great place, we will come again.

This is one of the best bars with live jazz music and great cocktails I've found in this area. Bartenders are really good with crafting amazing cocktails and super polite! Definitely a place worth going back to!

Great jazz music and the ambiance is wonderful. Great for a romantic date. Wonderful speak easy within Raleigh. Only downside is that the drinks are expensive but, they are quality drinks.

Love watching and performing live music at C. Grace! One of the very few legit jazz clubs in all of North Carolina.

I am currently at c.grace . nice to have a place to go to that has jazz. .
However my date wanted a glass of pilot grigio and all they serve is chardonnay??

Literally the only quality spot this live music tues-sat in town. It would be silly not to stop by 9-1 those nights. Solid bourbon, scotch, and whiskey set. Not a plug, don t miss out if you re a real traveler.

Seating is hard to get hold to as they only have 2 chairs per table and most come in swarms... so chairs are removed from other tables which are left without seats. Wish they would have additional fold chairs for those needing additional chairs to the tables. But

Some of the best cocktails in the Triangle area, imo. Also, the live music is generally very good. Go there on the weekdays when they don't have a cover price, get a few wonderfully mixed cocktails, and enjoy the music.

We were handed a menu at the bar and the bartender ignored us the whole time we were there (15 mins.) ... there were only 2 people at the bar. Very rude. The atmosphere was nice and it would have been great to stay a little longer.

I love the ambiance of live jazz both downstairs at Cgrace and multifacet array of music upstairs in the Empress Lounge. Several times a month they feature an awesome Jazz Jam with a multitude of talented musicians and Jazz singers. If your looking for the best cocktails in all of NC, look no further. Their Mixologist will definitely not disappoint you. And lastly a most comfortable Balcony with lounge and rocking chairs overlooking the non stop action on Glenwood South.

A wonderful place for a date night- from bar seating and craft cocktails (a tip from our waiter- try creations from the first page of the menu as they are bar's specialty) to comfy sofas on the back room. Also worthy of mentioning is the place right upstairs, very cozy atmosphere, styled in somewhat middle eastern key. Either place is a cool hangout any day of the week.

My wife and I went Saturday night. The inside does have a neat 20s feel when you go to the back side seating area. We each got drinks while we were there but they were 10$ a piece to start which is pretty high for one drink, so we enjoyed those and left . We also were looking for some type of food but none was available here.

Environment is great, unfortunately, licor and wine options are limited

I've been here twice, and overall I enjoyed the drinks. However, the second time I went, I ordered from their bourbon menu, specifically Old Weller 107. That particular whiskey was listed at 9.00$. The waiter later told me that they were out of it and instead recommended "Blanton's," which was not on the menu. I said that was fine, and he brought me that instead. When I got my bill, they had charged me for "Miscellaneous Beverage" and listed 18.00$, which was the equivalency of the most expensive whiskey they had on the menu. Basically, this waiter upsold me from a 9$ selection to an 18$ off the menu that doubled the price I had chosen without telling me. If I go back, I definitely not trust anything that doesn't have a listed price. I find it very unprofessional to recommend a drink that's twice as expensive as what the customer had previously ordered without notifying them.

Well I HAVE to give C. Grace five stars because it's my goto spot for cocktails and has been for the last three years! And it's consistently good which is why I continue to go back.

If you've never been before, just look for the white lights hung on their awning. If the lights are on, C Grace is open. Head down the stairs and open the door to a darkened speakeasy space. Small tables in front of a performance stage, bar to your right with another back bar to your left, C Grace was built to serve up libations. They've got a LONG list of house cocktails in addition to the classics and the bartenders/mixologists here are top-notch.

In back they've also got a more private area if you need to get away from the music or have some sexy-time! All in all my favorite bar in Raleigh due to its location, quality cocktails and great service, cha-ching!

You want a smooth Jazz spot to take your lady out too. Head to C. GRACE. Low key speak easy style place with great music and a wonderful array of libations.

We hoped to try C. Grace this evening, but were terribly put off by the person outside collecting covers. We walked up around 8:55 and were told that there would be a cover at 9. We stood with the man for a few and joked that the last member of our party wasn't going to make it before 9. He made it just in time and the clock struck 9 as we began to walk in. The guy stopped us and told us that because he hadn't asked for our IDs yet, even though we had been ready to walk in we had to pay the cover anyway. Honestly, we thought he was joking, but he was not. The cover was reasonable, but we decided to take our business elsewhere due to the terrible customer service.

I really enjoyed the live music that they had, and it was well worth the $5 cover. The drinks were very good as well, both their signature drinks and their standard drinks. Will go again.

Ambiance and drinks are amazing, u get what u pay for. Too bad I'm not into jazz cause they have it live six nights a week.

This place is beautiful! I love the scenery and the service was great. The decor in the bathroom was picture worthy and clean. The jazz players were impeccable, I truly enjoyed the music thank you all for making my birthday special. This was a first for me, but definitely not a last.

Excellent cocktails!
The place started to get really crowded when the live band was settling, on this saturday evening and it suddenly went from a amazing evening to a ruined one. It was all loud noises of people talking, so loud that the music was not really audible and not enjoyable anymore. Would definitely recommend the place though, but would advise to go during the week to avoid this.

Watching these bartenders make a cocktail is like watching a work of art being created. They take it very seriously, and the drink is worth every second of preparation; as well as every penny they charge for it. This is my favorite cocktail bar in Raleigh.

A great nostalgic bar reminiscent of the early 1920 prohibition years. All aspects of the entire bar and lounge is fully detailed to the most exact detail ranging from the profound drink menu to the classical jazz band playing every Saturday night.

First time with spouse at a bar live jazz. Good vibe and music. Service was very attentive but not annoying. Drinks were a little on the profit side but expected for live music environment.

This place has an amazing atmosphere with a nice lounge atmosphere with lots of seating. The live Jazz is also excellent, with different groups playing on different nights. What really stood out was the cocktails. This place has some of the best bartenders I have ever met. And what I really appreciate is that no matter how busy the bar is they take the time to speak with you and give suggestions regarding which drinks you would like. The drinks also have incredibly fresh ingredients...the bartender actually grated fresh cinnamon onto my drink. Also, the drinks are strong but still nicely flavored. I will definitely be returning here on future trips to the area. Highly recommended.

Went there a few weeks ago with my sister and had a great time. Its a 5 dollar cover with some great drink and live music to play. This is for those who are looking to get out but sick of 20 something acting a mess. Something more relaxed and you can hear each talk no more shouting
