Dr Barker is so attentive and kind! We have such a good time with the staff and they have been so considerate to our pets needs-they care for our cats, Josie and Ood, as if they were their own fur babies!

My dog had a mass growing on her side. We had just moved to area during the pandemic and after calling a few clinics Burke Forest was the only one who was able to make time to see my dog promptly. We decided on surgery after Dr Bowles took the time to explain all my options. No unnecessary test were run to determine probable diagnosis. We ended up doing surgery a week later after a detailed surgery estimate low and high depending on length and difficulty of surgery. The surgery went well and cost was under the low estimate which was wonderful. Due to my dogs length and flexibility she was able to lick and aggravate the incision a bit but after taking her in Dr. Bowles was able to clean wound, fit her with a long soft collar and used a laser treatment to speed up the healing process. I could see a noticeable difference after treatment within a few hours. All the staff have been wonderful during every drop off as you cannot come in right now due to covid. They also offer a military discount! I will be making Burke Forest our primary vet in Virginia now. Thank you guys for looking after Daisy so well!!!
They are always great with my dogs at this practice. Elizabeth, one of the Vet Techs here, is great, she is always responsive and shows great care and concern for my fur babies.
My cat s breath was awful and got a dental surgery last year. This year, his breath was not the best again and took him to the vet one more time. He got blood work and proceeded with a second surgery. After this, his health went down the drain. One day we were so worried that decided to take him back to the vet but, they were closed so, we decided to take him to another vet clinic where, after reviewing his blood work, told us the results which, were bad. Burke Forest never mentioned anything about this and still, proceeded with the second surgery. If they had explained his blood results the way the other vet clinic did, we wouldn t have accepted the second surgery and, my cat might have stayed with us for some more time. I really hope this is something Burke Forest missed out and it s not an every day business to them!
From the beginning I felt like I was in good hands with my kitten Misa, we found our kitty outside and she was abandoned so we needed to take great measures to make sure she was healthy. Burke forest vet definitely made our family comfortable with their great care for our cat. The whole appointment was in our car and via phone. They came to the car and spoke to us about the things they do, and made sure we were aware of what would happen once they took Misa inside. They gave me paperwork to fill out in the car, and called from the phone once she was all set to come back to us. Explaining everything in detail, the doctor came on and asked my concerns and made them go away. They definitely made us happy with their care for our kitty. Misa came back home happy as ever, which just goes to show how well she was treated for her appointment.

Ever since I adopted my pup we've had issues with finding a veterinarian that we trusted fully. Whether it be misdiagnoses, mistreatment, or wrongful medication, I started to lose faith that I'd ever find a doctor that could truly meet the needs of my pet while also creating a safe space for her, as she gets very overwhelmed and shuts down during her appointments. Meeting Dr. Bowles changed everything for us. She's the first doctor I have ever fully trusted, and I know she has the best interest of my girl at heart. She's increased her quality of life, and every day I am thankful for the care she provides. I cannot recommend her clinic more highly. Thank you all for the amazing work you do, and for making sure my Bebs feels safe and loved while she's at the clinic! If you go anywhere else for veterinary care, you're a fool!
Very understanding and accommodating of our skiddish, nervous German Shepard. We're unable to do full appointment (she was on drugs but not enough I guess ), but they were understanding and very pleasant and worked out other options for future appointments. Thank you so much!!!!
