Under directions of social worker DeAnna Frisbee Fox, another social worker Nancy Galloway and an Asheville police officer did a so called wellness check on an 84 year old Caucasian female Asheville resident who suffers from anxiety disorder, dementia and partial blindness.. The residents 73 year old female caregiver was with her. The social worker and police officer damaged two entry doors and were verbally abusive when denied entry by the resident and caregiver. The medical expenses, door damage and legal costs came to approximately 2500.00. Social worker DeAnna Fox, in what may have been a cover up attempt, then made numerous false statements and filed for a guardianship of the resident. DeAnna Fox's claim was correctly dismissed by the court. The social work department, City of Asheville and Buncombe County tried to cover up the abuse, which was detailed in complaints to all.

I appreciate that the clinic intake form has prompts for your pronouns and gender identity, BUT that makes it more distressing that the clinician and tech staff ignored it and misgendered me. If y all are gonna be like that why bother asking? Also the clinician told me several medically incorrect things about a common contagious skin infection that I was there to be treated for.

Zero points would be better. I called the BCHD to request information on covid testing. Although it was within business hours, there was nobody there so I had to leave a message. The recording said that they SHOULD return my call within 24 hours. I went to the office, where I wasn't allowed past the rope. They had NO info on covid testing, no help at all. I guess when they say that they SHOULD call back within 24 hours, that's like me saying I SHOULD train for the Ironman competition. It's been six days.

Every time I have been a patient here, 99% of everyone were very nice and my visit was very quick.

Don't waste your time trying to help abused children or anyone for that matter. They make a appointment with the accused...yeah, they give them a good head start and when they arrive at said place...everything is just fine...kids have been threatened with their life and anyone else in the house. I wish I could be the head of so called Children's services, I would clean house and start over. You answer every possible question, which are way too many when you call and report someone. Half of that paper work could be cut down to a fourth of what it is. SOMEONE called and you should get only the facts at that time, determine if it warrants a visit, if it does, DO NOT make a appointment, you air headed idiots. We have a lot of drug problems around here. Stop making it a joke for these druggies when DSS is called. I have heard some laugh about the way you handle this. SHOW UP ON THEIR DOORSTEP and see for REAL what these children are living. You are a bad joke as of right now. I could run that department right now. I have been a supervisor. And I guarantee, I would clean that place up and the children in this area would be checked on properly. Druggies would be saying, " You better watch out, that woman Deborah Harper is relentless when it comes to stopping the abuse or lose them and go to jail. PERIOD. Way too much paper work as usual, all of it needs to be on a laptop and minimized. Lets stop losing our kids in paperwork here. Make their safety a top priority. Wishful thinking, huh?

If you enjoy exceptionally rude staff, well, this is your clinic!!! The clinicians are quite kind. But that s about all they have going...

So far the people are nice but the wait tome for an almost completely empty building is ridiculous. It feels extremely sterile and hostile here like you are waiting to go into the gas chamber. Very unsettling.

The people who work here are intelligent and compassionate. They know how to quickly connect you to what you need. Staff is passionate about what they do and helping people and do so without judgement or impatience.

I give this department my support and empathize with the enormity of the task at hand. Organizing a mass vaccination? That's hard. This online registration is better than what I see other counties are doing.

What would help me is some sort of counter on a dashboard the would give me some idea of when I'll be getting my shot.

The wait is extremely long. Appointment was at 3pm and I didnt leave until 5:30pm. Was very late for work because of them.

The staff is extremely knowledgeable and want to help.

They have such nice people work in the back!! After you are took bck everyone was so sweet!!

Worst place-called 2 different people to report that I received a letter concerning DSS that I had nothing to do with..don't even know the family! Left message to both people asking how they got my name and address and how it should be against the law for them to send out information on other people who are having problems with DSS! Apparently this government agency doesn't care about people!

Beautiful new building with a lot of parking options but parking is not free. It is easy to find and helpful for many of our residents of Buncombe County. If you need help, go see them. There is a women's help center that has helped many women of Buncombe County.

I never write google reviews but I was astounded by how enjoyable my appointment there went today that I had been previously dreading! Everyone was so helpful and took great care of me. Honestly would look forward to going back.

I find it hard to believe that a place that services so many for free. Yet you still have so many complaining about the wait times. Have some of you checked the wait time at an ER. Or private doctors offices. Gosh folks they are helping you for FREE. TRY TO BE A LITTLE MORE UNDERSTANDING

The clinicians and doctors here are always so friendly. Although the wait time can sometimes go on and on it's worth the wait when you see how much attention they give you.

Immunization side is very slow I recommend u make a appointment with your primary physician before coming up her the WAIT is not worth the wait this the first and last time I come here for shots got here at 8:30 here it is 9:40 and I'm still waiting

Meh it's ok I guess , didn't really like it , the place felt very strange. Was waiting for somebody who had an appointment here and if you are waiting outside someone may walk up to you and ask for money to help one way or another and its certainty no falt of the facility. But that's to be expected in Asheville.

Went for my kids Immunization fast, friendly, clean facility.

I was in and out fast and Kim was so helpful and friendly. It was my first visit there and I was very impressed. Keep up the great work!

I was referred by my doctor for immunizations for international travel and was so impressed by the pleasantness and professionalism of each staff member I encountered from the moment I entered the building. The facilities and on-site parking are well-planned and easy to navigate..

Buncombe County Health and Human Services has been so great to me so far! I'm broke and I needed sexual healthcare... they fixed me and my partner up with free std screening, and gave me a pap smear, nuva rings, and will do an iud removal soon. Everyone has been very professional and respectful. This place needs to stay open so that women in Asheville can get the care they need for prices they can afford.

In and out fast and they answered all my questions.

It suffers the woes of any public health clinic such as low staffing but the staff is kind, the are facilities clean, and the services are irreplaceable.

I went and got on birth control about 5 months ago. 3 months ago they changed it. I have been having complications with it since day one of taking it. The NP has lied to me about what my body should be doing on this medication and they never answer their phones. Waste of time. I will no longer be coming here for anything. You are a waste of time. I'll go to an actual OBGYN and get what I need and somewhere that actually calls their patients back. Horrible service. The jail answers the phone more than the health department does.

You need to fix your phone line. I've called numerous times and it will not allow me to connect with anyone. When it tells you to press a number to direct your call, it will not direct.

My family only all times there. For food stamps, help things, etc. I not like sit so long wait time up and so bored.

It would be nice to be able to speak with a real person instead of having to always "leave a message".

Was the best experience I ve ever had with any health facility. Sharon and Marilyn we so kind and professional and informative I really want them to know what an amazing job they are doing. Great to see how nice people can still be.

Buncombe county dss does not care about a childs happiness, safety, supervision or anything in the best interest of the child. This organazation is pathetic!!!!

I was treated with the utmost Respect and Dignity. My Caseworker was Extremely thorough and had me taken care of in a Very Timely Manner.

One of the best-run government facilities I have ever been into! Kind and engaged staff, beautifully renovated facility and free access to crucial public health services with practically zero wait!

Everyone there was very helpful and the wait time was not that bad, only a few mins, I have had to call them a few times and every time they have helped in a timely manner.

I had a good experience with the people there and it was quicker and simpler than I expected. The people I dealt with were pleasant if not friendly.

Terrible system for Covid-19 registration!

We shouldn't have to repeatedly call or revisit the website to get registered. How about establishing a queue? I don't mind waiting for the vaccine, but I do resent having to waste time daily trying to access the system.

Frustratingly incompetent. Took almost 2 months to process my food stamps request. Recieved a letter saying I needed a phone interview which was scheduled for the day BEFORE the letter arrived. I called anyway, and the phone system said I needed to come in for in-person interview, then when I got there they said I should've called. I told them I've been waiting 2 months for food stamps and they said that's impossible. Then they looked up my application date and WOW it's really been 2 months (like I said). Then I got my food stamps, but they cancelled my current card (even though I have it in my wallet). Now I have to wait 10 days for a new card. I'm grateful for the help but it would be nice to actually GET the help.
