This is the best resort we have ever been too. We travel all over the U.S. and I must say this is by far the best place with a ton of amenities!!! And this place has so much History which makes it just that much more special.
If you ever come thru here I suggest you go stay at this place you will NOT be disappointed. It has any and everything you can need or want... a restaurant, a gym, shower house, hiking trails, a lake to fish from, horses to pet and feed, hotel and a campground, and that's just the big stuff that's not even mentioning all the other cool stuff that this place has to offer.
Just check it out, I guarantee you won't ever want to leave the place!!!
Relax and Enjoy.....

Came across the state to come to a nieces wedding and didn t even know where Gary, South Dakota was. Did some research and found out a little more.....ok looks interesting.
Upon arrival we were totally taken back. The tow of Gary itself is such a NICE CLEAN little town. Seeing the Resort Campus with its manicured lawn and Majestic Oak trees and sprawling campground.....speechless to say the least.
We brought our camper and the grounds are top notch. Level spots, spacious, great consideration for hook up spots. Easy in and out!! Campground is 5 Star.
There rest of the grounds and buildings have a historic background. This town was the county seat at one time and it had the State School for the Blind. This is where the Resort and campground are on. You will want to stroll around and explore. The buildings with pictures showing life in the late 1800s and later. I ll leave the rest for you to find out when you visit.
Host and staff were outstanding!!! Always willing and able to answer questions about your needs or about the history of the Resort and it s previous life. Enjoy the wonderful trees, flowers and grounds in your exploring.
This is truly an unexplored and undiscovered gem.....at least for us. Everyone who came to the wedding were taken back by its beauty and uniqueness.

Buffalo Ridge has great service and is always very accommodating for our Avera company retreats. It is a great setting for people to escape and get away, with very convenient facilities to host company events. I highly recommend their friendly and dedicated staff. Avera has been fortunate to spend time at Buffalo Ridge for many years, and plan to continue to do so in the future.

We had our wedding here and it was completely perfect. They went above and beyond in every way including so many wonderful amenities for the weekend and day of. My husband and I were worried with getting married during covid but they accommodated us and the precautions so well. It was such a beautiful day and we would not have wanted to be anywhere else!!

Day 1 = amazing! Day 5 = insanely amazing!

Are you kidding me?!?! This place (in small town SD, pop 226) is absolutely amazing and one of the best kept secrets in America!! Andy and his family - new owners, are amazing people and know how to treat their guests. Also, his cook Tomas and one of his employees, Kyler - are exceptionally hard workers and made our trip even more memorable than we could imagine.
The resort/accommodations are perfect and then ,,,,,,,,, the food at the restaurant ,,,, WOW!! I thought we were eating at the most expensive restaurants in some of the biggest cities!! We tried to taste as many things on the menu as possible and each time we just paused and said WOW!!
And the prices ,,,,, Are you kidding me?!?! Very reasonable, which they have to be because they are in rural America, so we just tipped a lot!!
