First time here at Buena Vista Optical and safe to say I had a really good experience. I got my eye exam done by Homer Gomez and he took good care of everything. He was friendly and professional and made my husband and I feel at ease. I would definitely recommend coming here to anyone!
Terrible service and reliability, they called me Friday to let me know my daughter's contacts would be in on Monday, special made, paid upfront, 4 weeks later.. I called in the morning to make sure they had arrived, lady who answered passed me to optical,, nobody answered,
she then asked for my daughter's name and said they weren't there yet,, to call around 2pm, call again,, same story, nobody answers again, call again at 4pm, finally answer and tell me oh contacts have been ready since morning,, I ask,, what time do you close 5pm, I tell her onmy way...Driving from Edinburg, get here at 4:36 pm, and turns out they decided to leave early and no one can give me contacts. Will have to drive here again tomorrow and someone is going to going to hear me!! Very unorganized and irresponsible! I've heard many complaints already Dr. Gillette need to up your game.

I have worn glasses/contacts for over 30yrs and have been to several optometrist in McAllen area. I was amazed at the amount of customers who walk through their doors. I now know why. I was assisted by Homer and, hands down, received the best eye exam ever. Everything was thoroughly explained and I left there seeing the best I had quite a few years. Thank you so much!!! I'll definitely be coming back!
Very unorganized waiting system. If you wanna wait in the hot sun confused as hell for 2 hrs, only to wait another hour in backroom limbo when you're finally allowed in, this place is perfect for you. Great place to learn the difference between affordable and reliable. Friendly staff.
This is the best place to get your eye exams! Your in and out in no time. The prices are right and the customer service is amazing! Homer is wonderful at what he does!
I went to Buena Vista with a concern about a small bump above my eye,that had been bothering me for a couple months. When I came in to my appointment I was surprised with the amount of people they had in the lobby and the sea of people that kept coming in. I waited in the lobby for an hour before they got me in to dilate my eyes then I waited almost an hour and half to be seen by the doctor. Only to be disappointed by the fact that the doctor saw me not even for five minutes. When I tried to tell him about my concerns he talked over me and did not allow me to speak my peace. He ignored the reason why i came in completely and talked over me whenever i tried to voice something.
At the end I left with 2 hours wasted and nothing changed.
I understand that they have to move quickly to accommodate the high traffic, but what's the point if my actual issues are completely ignored and disregarded?
Very quick service! And the staff was very nice and helpful. They have very reasonable prices for those that don t have insurance. Definitely recommend this place.
