I've had a vendor customer relationship with Buckingham for over 5 years.
We have completed several successful LED lighting projects together.
I want to take the time to respond to Jaime petrellas review. Whetstone flats is an amazing apartment complex to live in. Through out the pandemic they have followed all cdc guidelines to keep their employees and residents safe. The office team is very communicative and responds in a timely fashion. The maintenance team does a wonderful job making sure everything in the apartment is working smoothly. Please don t let one bad apple in the community discredit the hard work the whetstone team does.
Gramercy is getting this bad review from me and a 1-star rating because for their staff unprofessionalism and crappy behavior. I was about to pay my rent online and the system locked me out and I was not able to reset my password till 30 min later. This happens mostly everytime I try to logon into the account system. I forgot to do it later after 30 minutes and I got busy and then it was weekend the next two days so it totally went out of my mind and then I was charged $100 late fee. I took a screenshot of the lock out email and sent it to them and they said sorry can't waive it as you should pay it on time and we have to treat everyone as crappy as the other people; in one way or another that staff was telling me I am crappy although I was too nice to them when the below incidents happened; the heat was down in night for 4 different nights, the sink was not working and put a work order and no body showed up for more than 2 weeks, and never complained.
This place is renovated, not everything but not the best place to live as it appears ... everything installed is cheap and crappy ... If you get the wall dirty with anything like chocolate or coffee and you wipe it off with water the paint is off.
Water in the shower takes almost 10-15 min to start powering hot water and while you are taking shower the water keeps getting cold and hot.
All the fixture are very cheap and not installed correctly or in a bad way (drawers, counter top not fixed, sink tap moves, sink counter moves and the shelves move as well ... )
I got wasps nest under my chandaller and they sent pest control to treat it they just sprayed some cheap spray from walmart and did not remove the nest!!
Beside that when I moved there was a whole in the W/D place which they did not fix when I moved in and I did send them a pic (attached) of it and they never came so I ended up put a piece of board and cleaned it myself and put my W/D, carpet was not clean, many closed fixtures break as shown in pics.
I think it is enough till this moment, but I am sure there are other places around in the area that are more worth the money than what I am paying here. Will be definitely moving by the end of my lease contract and won't recommend it.
Excellent company that really cares about their people and surrounding community. Truly an excellent place to work.
Take heed to the warnings.
The building that I live in is beautiful but they do the bare minimum to keep up with it. The porch is sloping. The bricks are basically falling apart but they say that they would have to kick me out of my unit to redo the whole brick wall. The floors are uneven. They say they re trying to keep up with the original look but they are just being cheap skates.
Calling your property manager is a joke. Calling the hotline is a joke as well all they will do is take your phone number and name and no one will ever return a phone call. This is one of the worst managed companies in Indianapolis. Make sure to avoid at all costs. I regret resigning my lease.
I have worked for Buckingham Companies for over a year now and have to say they are one of the BEST property management companies that I have ever worked for in my 21 years of being in this industry! I also used to be a resident at one of their properties in Cincinnati and would still live there if I hadn't purchased a home. They really do care about their employees and properties. Not sure why there are so many negative reviews? People need to make sure they read between the lines on this because Buckingham is a great company!!
Like everyone else has stated, this place is a complete joke and the poor communication is not a silo d concern at just one complex.. The new property managers over Union at Berkley don't have a pulse on anything going on, and they don't care to have any involvement whatsoever. Ive sent in numerous photos of the place being very unkept, and no one cares. After escalating some concerns to the office, not getting a response, then escalating to the Regional Manager (Justin Few) and Regional VP (Tina Hamor) of Buckingham Companies, I felt like I was finally getting some traction. That slowly fizzled as they also have become unresponsive when you ask very specific questions. The high level "thank you for reaching out" response with no game plan and no real answers is making this company very illegitimate.
Today is June 1st. All amenities remain closed. The dog washing stations, coffee station, gym, swimming pool, all of it. And when you reach out to the office asking when things will reopen they indicate they don t have dates. They also replied via text message indicating that amenities are not something residents pay for, and that amenities are not built into the rent. This is absolutely absurd. We would not pay so much for rent if the amenities were not factored in. I am not paying $1500 plus a month to live in a glorified one bedroom/storage unit.
Events are also being advertised on their Facebook page about "resident events" that are completely false. Michele, the property manager, has no clue about what her job entails, and she lacks all professionalism.
Buckingham Companies is amazing. They care about their employees and their tenants. Everyone must realize, that renting an apartment, you are basically, living with a lot of other people. There will always be pros and cons renting an apartment. If the cons become too much for you, renting an apartment is not for you. Management always tries their best to make each resident, as comfortable as possible. Please, try to go with the flow of renting an apartment, especially, with Buckingham Companies. Buckingham provides a huge amount of support for their property managers to ensure all residents enjoy their homes. Hang on, if something unpleasant happens in your apartment. I assure you, the PM wants the issue resolved, as quickly, as possible. Buckingham Companies are 5
Scammers! I applied to one of their properties and was told if denied they would refund money to card used. Once they got back to me without even processing my app they then told me money would be sent out via check 30-45 days later. The leasing agent was kind and then became very rude in her responses. I m moving my family from Ohio to Georgia and dealing with people like this is terrible.
