Bubba's House Review

The staff were great, got to meet a lotta fun people and the location is fantastic. The hostel is on the water so you can take a water taxi right to it which is very cool. I stayed only for a night but would definitely recommend it to folks who want to stay away from the more touristy main island. It's easy to get anywhere by boat and the folks at the hostel are very helpful in arranging tours and providing any kind of information you may need! The rooms are clean and there's a really nice vibe to the place and it's quite social.

A mixed bag this.

The room was EXCELLENT, the air con was an absolute life saver in this heat and the bed was as comfy as anything... Can't fault the room at all!

However... I did have a lot of issues within this hotel.

We were in dry season so water was scarce (can't fault the hostel for this as it's the whole island) however, the water was supposed to turn on at certain times... Often this was late or never turned on at all which was very frustrating.

Our toilet which was supposed to flush with sea water couldn't flush at all until the water was turned on, therefore some days it was unflushable. When I told the staff, they weren't helpful at all really.

The staff were pretty uninterested in helping most of the time with one particular staff member appearing like they really didn't know what they were doing at any point.

Breakfast was also cancelled at points whenever they felt like it and sometimes dinner would be the same... No worries as we had some great food elsewhere.

Overall, the deluxe room was GREAT! The staff and amenities, not so great.

Great island vibe. About all that you would expect from a hostel. Happy hour could be longer.

Had a great time with friends last Monday. The food was really tasty and the live music was really great!

Great pub with ice cold beer and good food. Prices were reasonable. Loved the music. Stopped for before dinner drinks several times. Friendly staff and good beer selection. Local beers were the best. Great bar food.

Great place but only water for one hour in the morning and one hour in the evening, and sometimes less than that. Didn't think of it as a problem before I went there but we met a person who had stomache problems and he had a really rough night without being able to flush the toilet. The place next to Bubbas has running water for 5 hours a day.

One of the better places to stay in old bank. Don't expect to get great luxury, but great friendly atmosphere, staff was very helpful.

nice staff and good vibes. dont book the shuttle to panama city, the staff didn't reserve our ride so we ended up taking local buses

Great place to chill between surfs, local Caribbean island location without the negative tourism aspects of Bocas town. Meet cool people, be lazy in hammocks, tan on the water deck. A place to lose track of time...
