Absolutely appalling when it comes to children and young people with special needs. They don't comply with the law or even their own polices. The SEN department is totally incompetent and need sacking.

Awful - They just want to steal as much money from residents as they can. Chelmsford City and Essex are a mess - overcrowded, gridlocked roads, extortionate parking costs - probably the worst place I have ever lived.

Without doubt the worst council I have had the displeasure of attempting to work with. Constant problems with waste collections, over 10 e-mails sent for separate incidents where waste has not been collected with only one response. On the occasion they did respond, it was an automated message telling me that my waste had now been collected, but on checking, it was still in the same place. Have tried to call numerous times only to be told that I have to send an e-mail, but if nobody responds, what's the next step? Clearly states on their website that recycled waste is collected from my area on Wednesdays, yet had to run out this morning because it was actually being collected today. Incorrect information, complete lack of any response to complaints and queries and when you do eventually get to speak to someone, the attitude is bordering on rude.
Cannot get any response to my telephone call. Very poor customer services compared to other local authorities. Not worth a vote or the Council Tax.

Not only have i been asking for far too long now about proper bus stops, where the busses actually pull off the road out of the way, but also at the junction past the College where that annoying junction is with the traffic lights! people in the wrong lane, cutting those up next to them, and all because the road and kerbsides have not been set out properly in the 1st place, but the councils answer to all this? 'Email/message your MP'???????
They are observing strict Covid 19 rules. Interesting building.
*Essex council full of not competent, discriminating, opressing, ignorants - at the moment 10 years behind EU and 5 years behind London.
*Education level - only for free school meals attendance,
*Roads potholes like in 3rd world countries - while EU cities have interlocking pavers standard.
*Even in eastern Europe basic houses standard is external insulation and acrylic rendering, but Essex still painting poor barracks bricks - actually more suitable for demolition.
*Public places should be forced by government to keep representative appearance - shop fronts and town buildings greedy owners should be forced by government to keep neat appearance. Schools and surgeries also shouldn't look like wide sheds.
*Bus services worse than in Bombay,
*Parks and green areas are more dog's toilets than places for relax - especially spooky playgrounds.
*Essex is old, dirty an ugly. Full of selfish, not ambitious people, simply throwing money for own pleasure as cigarettes, drugs, alcohol - spending even more for pets than own kids future.
Essex County Council must be one of the worst Councils in the Country. I don't think that anyone cares about the Community they are there to serve. All they care about is their own interest. They pay themselves exceptionally well, the highest in the Country, and are utterly ineffective. The leader of the Council claims thousands of pounds in expenses every month and so do other Councillors. There are no services to speak of and in classic Conservative style the less well off are squeezed to protect Concervative voters.
Essex County Council is a parasitic administration.

I have been trying to get coronavirus advice for a public event in Harwich at a time when there is a spike there. Impossible. There is no number, and when you try to get through to someone in the relevant team they leave you hold for 30 minutes and then cut you off!!!! Twice!!!! And then don't ring back!!!! What more important matter could then be dealing with than the life and death of their citizens??? A total abnegation of responsibility.
