Broward County Dan Pearl Library Review

The security can be quite rude and sometimes harass my children.Even due to the the fact that they are 3 and 5,besides that it is a nice public building.

It's still showing open on maps. Remove the hours until it's open again. It's been months. Also the staff at this location are more rough but I must say you don't have people walking around on there cell phones or screaming at kids. It's actually a lot more quiet here then other locations.

Nice library. The network of libraries are good too.

Clean,quiet. Could have more hours. I haven't dealt with staff much so I can't comment on what others are complaining about.

This is not the closest library, and it doesn't have the largest selection, but the staff is exceptional -- helpful, polite, personable, knowledgeable. If something is not at this library the staff will order it for you so it is delivered to this library for you.

It's big, they have everything here, but they close too early.

Probably the most beautiful building in Sunrise . The architecture is a mixture of various types . If you love architecture and appreciate it definitely come . The staff is very helpful and nice , one girl walked around with me looking for a book and recommended a few . The small cafe inside serves great sandwiches that can go down smoothly with the daily soup of the day.

I would like to give this location more stars considering that it is my home library, and I do go there most often and with my kids. They have suited our needs for a few years. However, I am put off by their strict approach and rude staff that forget we - the patrons - actually pay for their salaries. They act like drill sergeants guarding items of national security. They have little practical common sense. They are unwelcoming and have no no skills for children or children's programming. I expect more from my community library. I will be visiting nearby libraries with more resources and helpful staff.

Great little library but it not open due to corona virus. It's open for pickup and drop off only.

To be totally honest, I avoid going to the library and instead use Broward s online system to get e-books.

Occasionally a book will come out and I can only get the hard copy, when that happens I come to this branch.

The library was closed for a few months for some remodeling, but I didn t notice any huge changes when I visited today.

This business is located amongst a couple of other city of Sunrise government businesses.

The library has a dated look, but seems to be otherwise clean and kept up. There are a couple of sections with some comfier chairs.

The library was fairly quiet when I quickly visited mid-day. When we lived in Northern California our library was a popular hangout for the homeless population, but this place was much emptier.

They do have some computers available for public use. You can also pay to have some
Items printed.

There is a sizable section of DVDs to rent.

They also have a couple of quiet study rooms, some magazines and a new book section.

I recommend going online and reserving your books ahead of time.

It s free to use the library, so I can t really complain too much.

Sunrise Dan Pearl is currently under great management, innovative activities for children. Someone commented here that there's a small collection of books..... let me remind you that Broward County has an inter-library loan department with endless options.

I'm reading the reviews and it is such a shame. This used to be GREAT library. My Mom went there often, when books were still hard copy bound LOL. I used to go there as well, all the time, many years ago; my son researched there. It was beautiful, and the staff was lovely. So sad that the wrong people are now in the wrong job :)

Super small library and shockingly dull/uninspiring inside. Small selection of books. The "kids area" just has one LEGO table for them to play on, and it's literally just a few feet away from the computers, which makes it virtually impossible for them to be quiet enough for all the people surrounding them.

Great library with lots of books and movies very friendly staff and very quiet great place to study. They offer volunteer hours there are hours bit short but thats the only con everything else library clean and big would recommend this place to anybody.

Tried to fine me for materials I returned on time, then another time they didn't correctly checkout my books and when I went to return them they hadn't been checkout so accused me of stealing. Of course if I were going to steal I wouldn't be standing there trying to return them. This library needs alot of work. It so close to my house so I keep trying again but usually I drive down to West Regional 15 mins away just avoid all the issues with this library. Also staff isn't helpful at all with trying to locate specific books.

Well its a nice library however with the air conditioning and Internet not working I am kind of annoyed.

Quiet, peaceful and a hidden gem. This library is amazing place to study as its usually quiet and you can reserve a room by yourself!

I used to work at the library last year. I loved it so much I thought about working during the summer, but even before school was out for summer and before Class of 2015 even graduated, I got fired. So I didn't went to the library during my summer and I regret going back there.. :/ But otherwise, internet wasn't as good as I was.. However I vowed not even get near to the library.

They act like drill sergeants.. but when they are taking they are loud and disruptive they don't lead by example.poor!!!!!!!!!!

U think by the pictures it looks different but it's not. If u can't do better than go to this library but if u can go somewhere else. One of the biggest probable I have with this library is the space. It's not spacious at all AND They still haven't fix security system smh

I really like this library, great staff, they have a few study rooms, i am not sure about the book selections but i go there a lot and i am never disappointed. Even the bathrooms are clean.

Each library has it's own type of atmosphere, 'a different feel or setting'. This Library has a nice area for study rooms. They are placed right off to the side where no one could bother you or get in your business. The children's area is in a great location as well.

Beautiful library with horrible hours and rude staff

I haven't spent a lot of time in there but I've been in it a few times to pick up books on reserve. I've walked around the place to check it out when picking up these books. This library is very attractive inside, very clean and bright. I would spend more time there, if I had the need to. The library staff I've encountered there have been super friendly and helpful. The only reason not giving it 5 stars is I don't spend much time in there, pretty much in and out. If I ever spend more time there and have more contact with staff, I will give more input. Also the parking can be tricky. One time I went to pick up a book and could not find a parking space available anywhere. I mean there was not one open space. I was told the nearby buildings sometimes have events and it clogs up the library's parking lot. It really did !

One of the nicer libraries I've been to. Bright and inviting with ample computer stations and even chess tables. Well organized and clean. Also, they have comfy chairs to read or hang out throughout.

Very clean, quiet and organized properly. Very helpful staff.
