Place for a good coffee in an industrial vintage decoration environment
Really great coffee shop and awesome location! I really have had only the best interactions until today. I was excited to try the tin refill program, where you can bring in a used tin and fill it up for a slight discount, but was sadly disappointed by their pricing on this option. I brought in what I assume is a smaller size than they normally fill, a 9oz tin that I purchased at my grocery store for around $10. My assumption was that filling it up would be cheaper than my original purchase price, but I ended up paying the refill price for the larger 12oz can which was $15, $5 more than I originally paid for my brand new tin. The person helping me at the counter even asked her manager (?) if she should charge me the same price as the 12oz can, seeing as the can I had was smaller, and the manager glanced over and said to charge the same price. At that point I already had the coffee in my tin, so I didn't want to make a scene and complain that this seemed unfair to charge the same amount for 3oz less coffee.
My advice would be go for the coffee, but not the tin refills! Go the grocery store instead and get more of the exact same coffee for much less money.
A good place to have some coffee while taking a break or working with your laptop. Comfortable sofas and plenty of daylight. Nice staff. Clean restroom.
Coffee with great taste - and ethics. This company is the best at what it does.
I came to this place all days I stayed in brooklyn. Coffee is good, food is good, service is good, music is good...!! It was never super crowded - which is good, and they have sofas and even ping pong tables! Recommended.
They roasted their coffee bean so is no doubt about the freshness, and a very balanced coffee, strong aftertaste~
Really nice people, and one of the prettiest, most soothing coffee house environments I've ever been in.
Great little spot. The vibe is laid back. Everyone is so chill. Definitely stop in and say hello. Music is good and the service is outstanding.
Very spacious, clean, I love the ping-pong tables, fresh pastries, needs more booths.
This is by far one of the best coffee shops you re fine and all of New York City whether you have to get a lot of work done or you want to play some table tennis or even just sit on one of the couches and watch Netflix...this open space is for EVERYONE! Not to mention they always satisfy with a solid cup of coffee
Cool little coffee shop with great coffee and pastries.
One of the best places to go with a friend in Brooklyn. I mean because of the space it has for ping pong and foosball. The coffee is perfect your way. And their Apple turnover deserves a prize.
Great coffee on the whole. Can get busy at times leading to a long line up. Funky space with interesting furniture arrangement.
The coffee was not good, but the ham and cheese croissants was one of the best I've ever had. Even cold, because the cashier didn't even bother to ask if I wanted it toasted, it was still great.
We walked from broadway Brooklyn and found this cafe. Nice tea and coffee, and this should be the coffee made by Brooklyn! Definitely highly recommend coffee shop!
Good coffee and a great team. Perfect for a quick break or to get some work done.
They had me with the awesome coffee, they lost me with the obnoxious turntable and records.
I wish they had more breakfast offerings. Other than that I do like their dark roast coffees, especially Peru.
Friendly staff. Used to have a great vegan collard green wrap. What happened? Like the casual atmosphere.
Came in when it was quite dead. The barista was friendly, but not enthusiastic for my arrival. It was my first time experiencing the Brooklyn Roasting Coffee company and I can't see what all the rage is about.
I had to ask several questions to motivate the barista to tell me more about the company to his dissatisfaction.
The coffee was mediocre at best.
Having a cortado with whole milk, the espresso (IRIS) had the appropriate tasting notes that was present in the palate, but could not be confirmed by the nose. The berry flavors noted were very light, but may have been so from the age of the coffee or the darker roast. I would describe the nuttiness of the coffee more on the Brazilian nut or black walnut side rather than a hazelnut or chestnut flavor.
The most disappointing part of my experience was the milk. Typically the sweetness of the whole milk is plenty of sweetness to stand up to the espresso. But the poor quality of milk being used was quite obvious due to the lack of sweetness from the lower butterfat content and poor flavor of the foam on the top of the cortado.
I would have much liked a better first experience, but will give Brooklyn Roasting Company a second chance when I visit another location in the near future.
i want to like it more than i rate it ...
staff temperament seems to be set at tepid. i'll still stop in when nearby.
Love the variety of coffee beans here They roast there beans here in New York, on site, is amazing. An insanely fresh cup. Brooklyn Roasting Company beats the heck out of all coffee shops.
Perfect place for hang out, man i wish i lived in this neighborhood. It has 2 ping pong tables, if you really like this sport, what are you waiting for?
Very quiet place where you can have a good coffee and at a very good price.
The latte was delicious.
The staff was very efficient.
I want to go again.
