If you are new to the country of fresh out of college I would say this place is for you. They offer 6 month contracts. Full time employment is rare. Benefits not that great. Glad I found some thing better.

Driver tried to cut me off in traffic and then gave me the finger not once but twice! Look Buddy it's not my fault you are running late because of the train and next time maybe plan your route better so you don't have to cut people off trying to cross over 2 lanes!
A total sh1tshow. Labour board needs to know about this place. They do not care about health and welfare of employees. If you have a disability stay away. Benefits are garbage. Only positive reviews are from people that either little to no work or a kissers. They keep rebranding every few years im sure another name change is coming soon. CEO is a clown. They have something called an optimizer which is a waste of time. How many VPs does one company need? Explains why raises are non existent. They spend money trying make company look like a top 50 company instead of being one. HR is useless. Always doing stuff for charity which is great but then should be doing stuff to pay a fair market rate. Starting a new job soon so i dont care im just speaking the truth. Side note* the front entrance always smells like a bathroom probably because they use same mop they use in bathroom. Must be appealing to new potential hires & clients.
The guy driving the van with number 16039 was being disrespectful for no reason. He came into the plaza to have a pizza slice but parked his van out of hus spot. After asking if he could park properly he started yelling and using f*** words. By no means this is tolerable. Make sure your drivers know how to drive and park so its not a hassle for others.
To get payment for services done, you have to do their work for them, and if they really feel like it then they'll pay out the amount. They will transfer you between multiple departments and representatives until either you literally give up on collecting payment or somehow close their work order in their system for them.
Also notice how they have a 3.6* rating that is bumped up by dozens of "local guide" 5*s with no explanation? Yeah they know they do a terrible job and it's much easier just to get fake reviews instead. I expect this to be buried just like all the other realistic reviews of people who had to deal with them.
The main things I didn't like about BGIS was the mixed messaging on nearly everything and how inept, clueless and childish most of the senior leadership team is. You're hired as a subject matter expert in your field, but yet you're told how to do your job and your suggestions are ignored. Senior leadership says do X, Y, Z, so you do it. Don't talk back or question anything and be ready for interrogation on a subject they know nothing about. Just say, "Yes," and let the communication flow one way...straight down from the top. The amount of projects I worked on that failed or were a complete waste of time after I suggested a better path or warned about potential risks were too many. It got to the point where I stopped saying anything at all because it wasn't well received. I did see a lot of success mind you, but not without its headaches.
I saw good people chewed up and spit out because their direct reports were ruthless. They leave or get fired while management stays and gets shuffled around. I saw one leader get moved around to at least four different departments in my time after they failed to deliver on absolutely anything. I would have been fired for such incompetence, but politics prevail at BGIS.
They handle terminations so poorly and distastefully that it's down right laughable. They're sharks. If you don't make their half-baked ideas a reality, you're not going to last long because you're making them look bad in front of their peers. It's a vicious cycle. Bad ideas are simply bad ideas. So, you end up future endeavored under the guise of "restructuring" when, in reality, you're just being throw under the bus. How many times in one year can a company restructure anyhow?
There's way too much silent politicking happening and the drama, wow. It's like a high school sometimes behind closed doors. Women are still talked over by men. Racial and sexiest jokes come out in meetings or under someone's breath that make people uncomfortable. People engage in extra curriculars before and after work instead of going home to family. You might get made fun of for something you don't feel confident about and you will definitely feel bullied for expressing concern. And this isn't coming from coworkers, it's predominantly management; the leaders of the company. Tone deaf, clueless and out of touch. Everyone is afraid of losing their job, so it goes uncontested, but boy is it ever talked about behind their backs. Don't report it to HR either. It gets filed under "Who cares". They don't even bother with exit interviews because ignorance is bliss.
Innovation is part of their tagline and their favourite buzzword, but I failed to see anything innovative on a daily basis. It was more of the same. Feed the idea that we're cutting edge to clients and staff, but operate like everyone else does. For instance, you're told that you can work from home because that's the image they portray through their marketing. Great in theory, but your direct report thinks you're doing nothing at home, so those opportunities are throttled. So, you come into the office with unassigned seating. First come, first served. Too bad there aren't enough seats in your department, so you overflow into other departments. Oh, you found a seat in another department? Well, your direct report will seek you out to give you grief for sitting there because they can't see you from their own desk.
The power sits in the hands of senior management and what they say goes. Nepotism is alive and well, maybe a little too alive because a substantial percentage of people who work at BGIS know an executive or senior leader directly. What those nepotistic hires don't know is how to do the job they were hired for.
If you have more dignity than I did, look elsewhere for work because everyone there has one foot out the door already just waiting for that new opportunity. And that's not the joke, the company is.
I would give a negative rating if I could. Their staff members (specifically delivery trucks) have the worst and most wreckless driving I've ever seen. At horrific weather and traffic, they still like to speed and drive as dangerously as possible. They are not apologetic whatsoever and even blame you for it. Highly do not recommend you giving your patronage to this company. Find another one with nicer, more careful and better staff. You'd want to depend on a reliable and responsible company to deliver your projects and such, so don't even think of picking this one. Don't even know how they hire people...
(Also you know it's a bad company when the positive reviews all come from their staff...)
I would give 0/5 if it was possible. If this company is able to hit and run your parked car and still operate imagine how they do their job at your house or business. I would say they operate similar fashion.
Would like to take the time to mention Dave from BGIS in Osoyoos - he always goes completely above and beyond the job for us here at our Visitor Centre. He is very dedicated to his work and we appreciate everything that he does for our business.
All I want to say about this company is that; I thought, was told and promised a free spirited, inviting, open minded environment and work place but in the end this place just treats you like a number, you aren't valued as a person nor an individual, but just looked at as a number trying to make their superiors look better. They also have some individuals who clearly are incompetent in the positions they are in. Don't even get me started haha. Do not work here at all and waste a year or two of your time trying to gain "experience". For a place who tends to customer service, they need to maybe tend to their employees a little more and maybe treat them as individuals and with the respect they deserve.
Great company I once worked for, great benefits. Cons: I got shunned for turning down a plumbing job callout, I had outspokenly told the client I didn't know how to fix it and it was already isolated ,a plumber was the better option. That ship has sailed for me but it's worth a shot.
