Waited in line to see if we could get in free and we did! I would pay to enter. State of the art facility with a visible rotating collection. They have windows that allow you to peer into storage and see other works of art before they are put on display. Super cool.
Fun, not overly crowded. Amazing variety in collection.
Nice contemporary art museum. Free admission but always busy, so if you can plan a few months ahead, you can reserve tickets.
You won't be disappointed ... Had an amazing time here...
Beautiful building and great art collection, though the organization is a bit odd. I understand why they do it by artist, but there's no cohesion room to room so no fluid way to go about the space
A great blend of contemporary art. Very eclectic. The building itself is such a work of art.
I m a huge fan of art museums, especially contemporary and modern art. I love the fact that the Broad is free (just make sure to book ticket reservations in advance). I came here with a couple friends for an afternoon and was really surprised with how cool the space and pieces were. I won t spend too much time explaining all of the art, but please do yourself a favor and reserve some tickets and get down here to see for yourself. Also-great space for selfies and photos!
Great to see current contemporary art in such a great setting and it is free! Great bookstore and staff!
I booked a check in time for 12:30pm and had plans to get there really early to sign up for the infinity room. Turns out if you don't book your tickets first thing in the morning, you most likely won't get tickets for the Infinity Room. They run out about an hour or 2 after opening. You need to be inside the museum already to book for the installation. I thought you were able to book tickets for the infinity room the day of with just ANY same day ticket. Since my tickets were booked for 12:30pm, by the time we got there they were completely booked. Bummer. You might have trouble finding parking if you're not familiar with the LA area. If you're coming from the 101, get off on Grave and turn right on 2nd st. There should be a parking structure on your left hand side. Parking will come out to $12 for 3hrs with validation from museum. We were only in the museum for about an hour, so we used the remaining 2hrs to grab a quick bite. There was a line for people who had tickets and also for those who didn't. Whoever had tickets were let into the facility right on the clock. The majority of the art is on the 3rd level. On the second level you'll find the restrooms, water fountains, and a conference room. The infinity room, gift shop, and a few other art displays were on the 1st floor. It's a great place.
The art pieces were amazing but it was a stressful experience.
We are so lucky to experience The Broad (rhymes with road) for free in L.A. Beautiful design by Diller Scofidio + Renfro in collaboration with Gensler. Fantastic art collection, gift shop, and changing galleries. Love!
I have lived in LA for 1 year, work in the office down the street, and finally had the chance to come visit this famous museum! The museum is much more than the basic photos everybody takes there! I thoroughly enjoyed all the art pieces I recommend booking tickets in advance! (I booked mine 3 months and forgot about it until I got a reminder email) ahaha good stuff!
It's also worth checking out if you have the opportunity to roam in downtown LA. Free entrance. There is convenient parking in the basement below the building.
It was an incredible experience! Impossible to go to Los Angeles and not visit The Broad.
Awesome art museum in LA. The admission is free but since we were going there during holidays, the free tickets were sold out. We ended up buying tickets for special exhibition and the admission was included. If you go there, you have to see Yayoi Kusama s infinity mirrored room. You have to wait in line but the line goes quickly because they only allow you to be in the room for 45 seconds but it s so incredible! We loved it. Also, other art work of other artists that show in the museum are so interesting. And don t forget to validate your parking ticket for discount.
Good time pass to see amazing art works. All sleak and unique
try to go as early as possible. I when with my family at 7.00pm on a Thursday they close at 8pm a hour wasn't enough tell to even finish seeing the 3rd floor let alone the whole place
Nice place. I got to see several Andy Warhol paintings. Not really a modern art fan as I have always preferred impressionist art. Great museum though.
Great place, interesting and beautiful exhibitions. A must visit in LA in you are into art
Be sure to sign up for the infinity room early. We were a bit late and wasn't able to check it out, but I bet it would have been cool. Be sure to reserve your museum tickets online. You'll only have to pay for parking when you get there. I also had the chance to be at the museum during the free tour slots and the tour was definitely worth it. The guide helps you to see what the artists were trying to convey. Definitely join the tour if you get the chance.
Small place but liked the art installations . Suggest to book a ticket since the walk-in line takes at least an hour!
Lovely museum. Never been to a modern art museum before, enjoyed it a lot. The thing I didn't like was the way they try to rip people off. Just when the gallery opens, there's already a huge line formed waiting to be let inside, however they're only let inside in groups of 10 every few 15 mins, and one staff member walks around the queue and keeps saying that there'll be a waiting time of over an hour and that we can buy tickets for 18 to skip the queue (and visit something else, but I can't remember). The total time we waiting though was around 30 mins, and we were in the back of the line, that's why it felt like a rip off. Great gallery non the less.
Fantastic collection. Friendly and well-educated staff.
A wonderful new addition to the LA art scene. Although the museum is free admission, I suggest going to their website and ordering advance tickets. They have a stand-by line for those without tickets but you have to be willing to wait hours before they let you in. When you enter there is a Ipad on the left hand side where you can sign up to see the special exhibit and you will get a text when it's your turn to come stand in line. Make sure you come here first or else you might not get the chance to see it. Other than this, the second and third floors house many unique and wonderful collections. We spent about 2 hours here. For parking, you can either park at the museum starting at $12 or park at one of the many parking lots on Grand for $5 all day but you have to trek up a very steep hill.
Enlightening experience. I enjoyed all the exhibits even the ones whose message I was not sure of.
Soul of a Nation was an emotional experience with a little entertainment and a lot of education.
I checked the open hours online and it said till 8 PM but it turns out the last entry is at 6. I went there and couldn't go in!
Thoroughly enjoyed this museum. A bit more Laid back than you d expect from a museum which made the experience more enjoyable for me. Exhibits were super interesting and some were interactive. Would go again.
Picturesque market to feed the senses with colors, smells, flavors and sounds
Busy place, but so much fun! From MN visited while on vacation and got some awesome pics of us and the amazing art. I would totally return even if it was all the same because I felt like I could have spent HOURS here
Very modern museum, and you can validate the parking.
This was my first visit and I loved it. I will definitely be back.
Love the Arts? You have to check the Broad out. It's amazing!
It's a great museum, the staff is very friendly and helpful.
We didn't get our tickets in advance which is free but the general admission line wasn't that big. It took at about 10 minutes to get in and once we did, we were surprised by the amount of beautiful pieces not only of art but also history.. some going back 50, 60 and even 70 years ago. I took a lot of pictures to remember and will definitely recommend for people to visit.
Great museum i have ever seen. I have visited several times over there with my friends and family. Good historical place to learn about art. Good source of general knowledge . Their collection is very amazing. I highly recommended this museum to all.
Changes exhibits a lot and nice experience. Wouldn t spend longer than an hour and a half here.
Visiting LA? This is a definite stopover for friends of art, pop culture, or just want to see what Andy Warhol artwork looks like. And it's free! What more could you ask for?
It's an art museum. Really interesting architecture. Infinity room requiring an additional reservation is really annoying as they don't tell you when you make initial reservations and it's booked solid no matter how long you wait.
While waiting for the only exibit worth seeing, the "infinity mirror" room, I entertained myself renaming the artwork to reflect its proper asthetic. Boring, pretentious, and not worth the paper wasted to print the tickets. Negative stars. Go to the Watts Tower Art Center and see the Chukes exhibit. Better use of your time and fewer people!
This is hands down the coolest art museum I ve ever seen. Not a big art guy by any means, but this place is spectacular.
Maybe it's because we went when the bottom floor was being transitioned but this place is crazy over-rated. I love museums so I enjoyed it but it just wasn't great at all. Way hyped up but not worth the hassle.
Amazing artwork is will with the time spent in line, but book ahead and don't wait at all.
Cool architecture, but the gallery space and public collections on display at any given time are relatively small. Good for a 2 hour visit minus wait times in any lines.
I've yet to explore the inside of "The Broad", supposedly a modern museum. The building is architecturally beautiful. There's a blue-window hole on the side of the building; I like holes. I'll have to explore it next time. The place is near the Walt Disney Concert Hall, another interesting building design.
Amazing place, get your free tickets a week in advance and save yourself the +1hour wait, but still worth it on any day.
Amazing artwork and the building is a pice of art itself, It's a great place but I had to wait 2 hours to get in, the museum staff is very kind but will be great if you guys find a more efficient way for access control
The Broad is my favorite museum in Los Angeles. Admission is FREE. You can find inexpensive parking nearby or the parking structure will accept validation from the museum. The Precious Unique Women s Foundation sponsored a field trip from girls 1st-6th grade. We took part in the scavenger hunt provided by The Broad which was lots of fun for the kids. The infinity room was an extra treat at the end of the Journey That Wasn t Exhibit. Staff was very gracious and kind when speaking and explaining the art to the children. We took advantage of the cost and bag check which was extremely helpful. Tourists or Angelenos should visit The Broad as often as possible. Exhibits are constantly changing and the atmosphere is engaging and educational. A must visit.
An exceptional museum - one of the best contemporary art museums in the country. Everything about it is thoughtfully organized. Be sure to reserve a time slot to visit because the standby line gets lot. Go at 10:00 if possible to get the best experience . Parking underneath is convenient and reasonable for the downtown location.
Went for the infinity mirror rooms. It's a nice clean museum for modern out. The system for getting in queue for the mirror room was easy and we got our turn in about an hour and a half.
There's a special exhibition and I can't believe that I had to wait over an hour to be told that I would not be able to see the show for another 4 hours. I realize that there is a reservation for tickets but they should know how many people can come in by the hour instead of making people wait for hours to get entry. Learn from restaurants!!!!
Only 1 floor for free general admission, art work is interesting but you'll be done in 45mins to 1 hour. sadly the exhibit we wanted to see was sold out.
I enjoyed my time in the Broad museum. The only place I couldn't go it was to see Kusama cause it was a long waiting list.
I had an amazing time during my visit here with my girlfriend. It's an incredibly beautiful museum with a lot of exhibits to see. I highly recommend this place.
Fun family day with my girls. We enjoyed taking photos and walking around the exhibit. We even got to leave for lunch and return to wait our turn for the light room.
Nice staff. Very crowd during the weekend but it's obviously to see the great artwork on display. I haven't gone to the infinity room because it's so crowded :{
Beautiful museum. Free entry. Mirror room booking required. Advance reservation recommended to avoid lines which can take an hour or so even on weekdays. Overall, a great asset to draw visitors to LA downtown.
Infinity mirror was not what I expected, but it's still cool.
Amazing museum with powerful contemporary pieces. Very knowledgeable guides who will gladly discuss the art and artists
First time visiting. Saw the Soul of a Nation display. It was so wonderful. The staff were plenty and helpful and very courteous. Enjoyed it very much and the building is so nice and there is easy parking right at the building for $15.00.
Fun little museum you can probably browse through in an hour or two if you're in DTLA. Lots of cool exhibits and sculptures, my favorite was the giant furniture set!
If you like contemporary art, I recommend it to Getty or LACMA. It's free admission and not very crowded.
Beautiful building. Just large enough to spend a few hours at which I liked. Can be difficult to get tickets.
Super cool art museum but I was sad that I did not get to see the infinity mirrors exhibit
It was different than one gone too and actually like .
Worth a visit if you are interested in contemporary art. It does not take more than 2 hours for the visit. Yayoi Kusama's infinity mirrored room is a must visit though it has a long queue always. Make sure you reserve it in advance. My personal favourite is the dining table installation that challenges perspective.
It was pretty interesting although there's a lot of people that aren't interested in the art but instead their next social media post.
