I am torn. The exhibitions are truly exceptional. But the person in charge of the tickets and entry system is obviously disabled, which on the other hand might be a good thing considering that he would not be able to get any job in the real commercial profit based world. So it brings me to a philosophical question whether the well being of one disabled person is worth the suffering of thousands of visitors of the gallery...

Nice museum with a good selection of modern Art . The museum is a bit on the small side and one can go through it in an hour or so provided the wait times for some of the special exhibits are short . It's a free museum, and you can RSVP or go standby but be advised that if you go standby you have to be there before 630 p.m.

Lovely open galleries that seem purpose built for the large and monumental works. The collection is breathtaking. The smaller spaces felt well suited to the show on display also. Will return whenever I can.

This place has a lot of beautiful masterpieces some aren't suitable for children though. I went with children and wasn't allowed in a particular spot. I was only there for a short time so didn't get to see one of the room since there was a line. I do love the architecture!

love all the NYC art here. Basquiat, Herring, Warhol. the wait is the worst but the museum is super cool and simple. feels like a modern day flintstone house. only 2 levels but lots to look at. murakami gotta lotta real estate here too.

My daughter and I are not gallery people. Our LA hosts raves about the Broad, so I booked tickets online and made it the centrepiece of our downtown LA visit. The building that houses the gallery is itself a star in its own right. The effect the windows create inside and out is stunning. The exhibit on the top floor was wonderful. The Koon stuff in particular is great. There s some other modern stuff that you scratch your head about - but I guess that is the point. Souvenir shop below is excellent. Glad we copped the tip from our friends.

I wasn t amazed by the Architecture or the internal distribution of the room which made me miss half of the museum because I couldn t understand the spaces.
Mainstream pieces with lack of curation.
Regarding their must-see: the infinity room ... we tried signing up to view it and it was fully booked despite the museum being quite empty.
I wouldn t recommend it!

The art is ok.

The art is ok.
The infinite room is absolutely disappointing. It is a tiny tiny box with some lights and an all around mirror that reflects the lights. That's all. And they let you in for only 45 SECONDS; After this super short time they kick you out.

Definitely an above-average museum. Very creative works that often rotate so make sure to check it out often. Makes for a great weeekend excursion. The selection could be a little larger and some of the rooms have long lines. It is free but you d better reserve your tickets way in advance to avoid disappointment or long waits.

Very amazing museum. With just enough art work to enjoy for a afternoon. Reservation is a must( 3months in advance). But the work days are less crowded. They have the museum art work and periodic exhibit that are very unique. It is a museum you have to experience. Compared to the Getty it very relaxed due to the fact that you have time slot to enter and exit but it doesnt seem like they are very strict with the time slot you get your reservation for. The museum art is free but the exhibit you have to pay for

The Broad Collection is a Greatest Hits of Modern Art, and isn't exactly full of surprises. The highlight of our visit was to delight in a pretty impressive architectural showpiece. Sure, the very compact Broad is a display of vast wealth wrapped in philanthropic magnanimity, but putting that aside, as an example of architectural intelligence and restraint, it's worth the trip.

The downside, of course, of such a small gallery space is that you have to wait in line for a very long time, which can take the sheen off just about anything. My family jumped the line, but only because my wife won "VIP Tickets" in a school raffle. Frankly, without the benefit of the jump the line passes we might have skipped the collection altogether.

(4.7 stars) Here is another free and fantastic museum in LA. There are a lot of memorable art pieces here and it is worth the line to enter. I believe there is a reservation system but it is not required. Easily accessible via public transport and plenty of dining options in the area

I was very disappointed in my time at the Broad Museum. My family wanted to go into the Infinity Light Room but were not allowed because we did not make a reservation at the kiosk. We went up to the kiosk to make a reservation but the screen stated that time in the room was booked for the day. We waited for the kiosk to open back up and were able to make a reservation but our wait was 4 AND A HALF HOURS! There was NO WAY that we were waiting that long to go into a room for 45 seconds. I proceeded to go up and ask if the wait was really going to be that long and the response I got was no but you will have to wait at least an hour. And let me point out that there was NO ONE in line at the time. If I am only going to be in the room for what, 45 freaking seconds, then why must I make a reservation when I am already there ready to go while the people who made a so called reservation decided to not show up. And don t even get me started on the parking garage setup. Free museum, $25 parking and my family was not even there for an hour.

Book your free tickets in advance online for date / time to avoid line up at door. The infinity mirror exhibit is fantastic (est 300 min wait when we signed up but it ended up being ~60 mins...they send you a text to notify you so you don't have to wait around).

The museum is great! Too bad the wait is so long for the infinity mirror room (3 hours on average). Also take your seats at the museum 3-4 weeks in advance even if it's free otherwise waiting at the entrance

Real nice

This is a fun museum. We didn t have tickets and had to wait like 30 minutes outside, and never ended up getting into the special exhibits as they had separate sign ups. That said, we saw them and I think they looked gimmicky compared to the rest of the museum. It s basically a photo op and they time you for like a minute. The rest of the museum has some nice modern pieces. We enjoyed our visit.

Great exhibits and fun place to visit. My kids liked seeing so many different kinds of art and where surprised by some of the pieces hanging on the walls. It was great to show how art is subjective and how many amazing pieces were at this museum. Great way to spend the day. The Infinity Room was definitely the highlight of the visit. 45 seconds is so short when you are in the amazing room. We should have went back in line to go again. We were able to get some awesome pictures in that room.

The collection is phenomenal. I went in search of Mark Bradford and was thrilled to also find Basquiat, Warhol and Jasper Johns and discover Kara Walker. Beautiful building. Great flow. I love the timing, it makes for easier, less crowded viewing. Will definitely go again to see the new rotation of exhibits.

The Broad is a museum of modern works located in downtown Los Angeles. The museum has free admission and is not very large, which makes visiting a lot easier in a reasonable time. The architecture itself of the place already draws attention. The staff were very polite. The works are known and very interesting. It was very worth knowing.

Art that enriches, they have a free autotour that helps you to appreciate some works even more, it was an exquisite walk, you need at least 2 hours but if you can give the visit more time to take advantage of the best.

An incredible museum. I've been there many times and I live in San Diego.
The building itself is a work of art. The exhibitions are always amazing. Saw the infinity room a few years ago and it was so impressive. The Basquiat collection.......incredible.
I will always visit there at least a few times a year.

Brand new contemporary art museum that opened mid 2015. Tickets are free whether by walk-up or by requesting on their website. Lots of different pieces from a private collection that will be constantly rotated. Did I mention that it's free? Also, right now they have a promotion where if you go across the street to MOCA and show them your ticket stub, you get a free membership pass for a year as well.
