They do help community. The food pantry perishables are decent. The produce, especially avocadoes, berries, mushrooms) is largely not good unless eaten that day, or blanched and frozen.
I highly suspect (and I feel this way about other organizations, i.e. Cathic Charities) that they give immigrants/refugees more help than USA citizens. My Vietnamese and Indian is a bit rusty, but I've overheard enough to suspect this could be true.
They have job leads, and do CAP applications.
Nice volunteer staff. They do a lot of good with volunteers that they have .
However, I fell in the parking lot yesterday, immediately reported it to another volunteer/witness, called when I got home. The staff's focus was their big fundraiser last night, so I had to delay medical treatment, because one of the key staff didn't know name of insurance company. She said she had to get information from Finance Director. I'm still waiting, as of this morning. This information is something all key staff should know. And a fundraiser should not take precedence over medical attention. Period.

About Bridging the Gaps - South Hills Interfaith Ministry

Bridging the Gaps - South Hills Interfaith Ministry is a non-profit organization that has been serving the South Hills community for over 50 years. The organization was founded on the belief that everyone deserves to live a life free from hunger, poverty, and other social injustices. Thousands of people in the South Hills area struggle with these issues every day, and Bridging the Gaps is dedicated to helping them overcome these challenges.

The mission of Bridging the Gaps is to provide assistance and support to those in need in our community. This includes providing food, clothing, shelter, and other basic necessities to families who are struggling financially. In addition to these services, Bridging the Gaps also offers educational programs and job training opportunities for individuals who want to improve their lives.

One of the unique aspects of Bridging the Gaps is its interfaith approach. The organization works with people from all different religious backgrounds and beliefs in order to create a more inclusive community. This approach has helped bring together people from diverse backgrounds who share a common goal: helping those in need.

Bridging the Gaps relies heavily on volunteers and donations from individuals and businesses in our community. Without this support, it would be impossible for them to continue their important work. Volunteers are needed for everything from sorting donations at their thrift store to delivering meals through their food bank program.

In addition to its core programs, Bridging the Gaps also hosts several events throughout the year that help raise awareness about poverty-related issues in our community. These events include fundraisers like charity walks/runs as well as educational seminars on topics like financial literacy.

If you're looking for ways to get involved with your local community or want to make a difference in someone's life today, consider volunteering or donating your time or resources at Bridging The Gap - South Hills Interfaith Ministry! Joining this movement will not only help those struggling but will also give you an opportunity for personal growth while making new friends along with it!
