This is definitely the best local hardware store in Austin, and one of the best in Texas. They are consistently friendly, they greet customers when they walk in, and they always have what you need that is of good quality, practical use, and reasonable price. They also are well stocked, well organized, and they always have very high customer traffic. If they ask if you need help and you do, they are willing to help you every step of the way, and if they ask if you need help and you don't, they don't bother you, they don't watch you, and they don't follow you around. All in all, whatever you need, from novelty to practical, and from hardware/housewares to gardening/gifts, Breed & Co. is the place to go!

I was looking for 0-10-10 fertilizer and dr. Bronner's Soap. They didn't have either but they had Murphy's Oil Soap and Rose fertilizer so it'll get the job done.

Hardware store that sells truffles, charcuterie, cheeses, and a gorgeous garden area. Need I say more?

Kind of a strange eclectic mix of wares for sale here. Regular hardware items, expensive dishes, candy, gardening. Just a fun place to go shopping. Friendly, knowledgeable staff to assist you if you're having trouble finding something or have questions.

It was the best locally known stores in Austin, and it's been around for over 45 years, and under new family ownership since 2015. Locals love come to shop from assorted sweet confections, chainsaws, Baccarat crystal, to indoor plants and potting soil. It's the one of the most unique Ace Hardware retailer, housewares, bridal, and garden store. There are four in the Austin area.

The paint department at Breed & Co. is extremely helpful! They've been so patient with a paint project that has taken months to complete due to a shortage of money.

Friendly and helpful staff. Great neighborhood location. Parking. Shopped here for 30 years!
