Brasserie La Chicorée Review

Friendly and welcoming service. Useful hourly amplitude in displacement. Cuisine rather good, but the prices seem to equal or superior quality, excessive compared to "estaminets" around.
Note for my only arrival: a few problems calculating the addition (which had been overvalued 8th per person for a table of 8).

Although it was quite busy here, we had our food very quickly! A simply delicious and well-cared-for meal, for little money. No high-quality menu, just good, brasserie. The suggestions of the region are recommended. Lots of place to sit. Top.

To avoid absolutely! Dishes not fresh and reheated. The tartare is filthy and the fries soft. Theft! Go your way!

Very good food, a really friendly, very friendly and very family friendly, perfect to have a good time.

Warm brasserie restaurant with traditional dishes from the North. Open very late at night. Terrace with beautiful view of Rihour Square, closed and heated if necessary. Very busy it is prudent to book. Large table possible. Sometimes some references of draft beer break.

Plan on waiting to come in and before being served. Today, the bib was not very tender, but the carbonade very good. The gourmet coffees were a bit of a pickle. The setting is very nice.

The tourist trap base in Lille. The service is worse than deplorable and haughty. Here we have the stereotype of Parisian restaurants while we are hundreds of miles away ... Basic I never put an opinion, this is also my first, but here the staff is one of worse than I could rub shoulders. You are just a wallet full of money in their eyes.

Honestly, there are a dozen other restaurants in Lille where you will be greeted with a smile and a good mood. I do not even dwell on the quality of the dishes which are of an afflictive banality ...

I personally advise you to get closer to restaurants located "Rue de Gant" to taste the real food of the north and also rub shoulders with the good mood of Lille which is the reputation of our region!

Do not be fooled by its good location! This restaurant is still there just thanks to that and its schedules.

The location is optimal and it is supposedly a must in Lille.
However, I have been very disappointed many times.
The service is very long, once the server forgets to serve me my drink at the same time as the others, I waited 20 minutes for my Mojito, and in the end, we waited 15 minutes for the addition that never came to our table ... another I had to go ask for a carafe of water at the bar because I have never seen it happen! Yesterday we waited 40 minutes for our dishes, which arrived after I started to exclaim that it was too long (well, in 40 minutes I had time to hear the shouting staff).
But here, big disappointment!
The chicken maroilles sauce I loved, very tender and served in sauce ended up being a dry chicken with a drop of melted cheese on it and a salad bitter and unseasoned.
Moreover, even in the floors you can smell the smell of cigarettes ...
So I am very disappointed and I do not recommend this restaurant at all !!!

When the menu displays "Trio of gray shrimp croquettes" ... you should understand: 3 mini gray shrimps drowned in Chamelle Bay! ;; for 17e50 !!!

The food was reasonably priced and of good quality. The kids menu was huge and definitely a hit. The restaurant was struggling with service on the night we were there though. It was visible that there was limited coordination amongst the staff. Duplicate waiters, plates arriving at different intervals and difficult time to flag down staff for drinks and the bill. However, the food was good enough that this place should get a second chance.

Good food but staff really unpleasant sometimes. The wait can sometimes be very long, everything depends on the day.

What can I say ... take your half day to be able to eat there! They see too big, continue to bring in the customers when they already cannot take care of those who are waiting for their dish. 2 hours to have the main course ... which arrived before the entry .... !!! Servers who do not manage their stress, friendly limits. It's a shame because we eat good food there.

Friendly brasserie in a warm setting. A card that will suit everyone. The food is of quality and service and very competent and pleasant. I highly recommend this establishment you would not be disappointed.

The food is very good but the price / quality is poor. The staff is often rude. One time, refusing to serve us because someone in the group just wanted a drink. I advise against.

The dish was good but the service deplorable, rude server who treated us like nothing under the pretext that we were a group of young people (20 years old).
The service was very long and the wait for the bill even longer (more than 15 minutes) moreover the waiter was not shy to make derogatory remarks and make us understand that we were not the priority in the restaurant , indeed it is occupied with several tables arrived after us before serving us.
The waiter was a tall dark man in his thirties so I never want to deal with him again.
I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant.
