Brasserie La Chicorée Review

To have a drink to eat surely not. First dish returned to the kitchen does not correspond to the explanation of the server. And a smell of sewers on the covered terrace very unpleasant.

Meal ok, service a little long, but Waiter smiling.

After an hour wait for a waiter to come to see us he ends up telling us that it is normal because there were dirty glasses on the table ???!? !! We finally order! Once our glasses are over we are still there after two hours in total without being able to recommend another drink. In the end loss of money for you and loss of customers. You do not have to make a lot of turnover. No wonder when the server seems overwhelmed passing 50 times in front of you without looking at you.

Very nice brasserie with a well-stocked menu, but the service seems to be at the head of the customer. Too bad.

I specify in advance that I am not Lille and I chose this brewery to discover the gastronomy of the north. And I was not disappointed, what a meal !!!!!! I chose a menu entry + dish + dessert that allowed me to taste some of the best local flavors. Pie with maroilles, carbonnade, half-cooked speculos ... a treat. Everything was served irreproachable. Server super nice and not stingy in explanation. This bistro is super well placed, go there!

To use Pierre CLN's opinion, yes, it is a hive but it turns out to be a quarter of a pile. We had a smiling, fast and efficient young waiter with an elephant memory. He placed the orders in front of each of us without hesitation. We were 11!
We liked everything ... But:
Vegetarian welsh deserves a fried egg. Vegetarian is not vegan! Besides, we eat cheddar, right?
Small flat for the speculoos mousse ... Really oily a little disgusting ... We expect something very sparkling like a chocolate mousse but it is more of a cream.
No hard feelings we will come back

The food was a bit disappointing. The prime rib was with a lot of fat. The service was good.

Superb setting ... but slow service (but respectful anyway) .. by cons not famous cuisine and without excuses (bad box, sad salad, dishes not ordered etc etc ...) to add + 20% on prices after midnight and obligation to order a drink every 30 minutes !!!!

Just disgusting! Welsh industrial and not at all home! Cold! In short, horrible! My girl had a carbonade like bland and barely warm. No really horrible I would never set foot there again.

Small supper in this brasserie. Specialties of the region welcome. Stan a speed server and very caring for customers on the terrace .. very good meal with a magnificent dessert very clean ... only downside a little waiting to be served because crowded but good c is normal .. I recommend

I would certainly return if needed, as a late movie release but I will not resume folds of Welsh.

We were a group of 5 and we were made to feel very welcome and above all very well served by a very beautiful and smiling waitress who despite the late hour (1 hour past) give herself body and soul in her work!

Beer served without foam after more than 15min of order .... Tasteless service ... Not a smile not a word ....

A little waiting for us (15 min) and when we get rid of our plates (10 min) but that's understandable during the holiday season. Located on the 1st floor, a waitress quite nice and natural and very good and nice dishes (a plate of the north for me). Average ticket 22 for dish drink and dessert. I strongly recommend this restaurant.

The restaurant is fine. 3 out of 4 dishes were very good. One of them would order the meat in English and serve the sole of the shoe. Otherwise it was friendly and tasty and the price is okay for the location.

Very good food. Tasty cheesecake, then Flemish pork chop and a creme brulee. Very tasty and enough. It is busy here but the staff does an excellent job. In short, definitely recommended.

Huge amount of seating and open on a Sunday. It was really busy and so service took a long time.

Passing through Lille stop at the chicory restaurant. The staff is very pleasant the warm atmosphere the plates are very generous. I recommend this good restaurant with their regional specialties.

This is a tourist trap - don't bother going here if you want nice french food. The mussels were overcooked and gritty, and the beef stew was sickly sweet! I thought the French were supposed to have better food than the English...

Correct restoration, but doubt about the homemade character of certain dishes. Very unpleasant service, error in the bill, against us of course ... (Price of the menu counted in a la carte restaurants).

Bonne Brasserie where I could taste a good Flemish carbonade accompanied by a good beer. The waitress was very pleasant and so was the service. The waiting time was more than reasonable.

On the terrace on October 15th at 8pm ... menu biloute. Pleasant and very fast service of hearty main course with tasty sausage and white beans BUT warm dish ... regrettable !! Good speculos mousse. Good organic white beer. BUT digestive problems during the night which means hygiene problem in the kitchen ...

Personally in the Top 5 restaurants of Lille to discover the local dishes! Reasonable prices ... flat for the service that could be more applied ... 5 stars all the same!
