Brasserie de Berk Review

We have reserved a drome with 6 people and 2 children, it was super cozy and very tasty snacks and pleasant service!

Good and (too) much food for a reasonable price.
Attractive interior. Friendly service.

It took quite a while before someone came to pick up ... We then went to lunch elsewhere

Wonderful place, but book! Very nice atmosphere and good food. Too bad it is always so busy ;-)

Wedding

On August 28 we had planned our wedding at brasserie de Berk. A day we looked forward to! Friends of ours were also married there, on the island the year before, a very nice day. That is why we have also chosen brasserie de Berk. The first meeting went smoothly, you have confidence in such a case. The closer we got to the wedding, the more vague the communication. Suddenly we heard that the party was no longer possible on the island, it had to be moved to Le Bouleau. That can happen, no problem. However, this was briefly communicated, not asked if we agreed. We took another look at that location, it was empty, no chairs or tables. For some people it is then very difficult to imagine what the location will ultimately look like. There is an amount deducted, though. The good things may also be mentioned.

In the meantime, I also participated in 2 trial (work) days, and the job was promised to me after 2 days by a manager. I would work fixed days (was offered by them), the wage I asked was no problem either. 3 weeks before the wedding I was called, with the message that it was not me? Because I was not flexible enough, because I wanted to work fixed days, and the pay was too much. And this while they have offered it themselves? I have never asked for this myself. There is therefore very bad communication with each other behind the scenes. A manager promises you a job, and then you receive a call from someone else who doesn't know anything about it. Very vague. I did get paid for the days after I asked. Enough about that: 2 days (3 weeks before the wedding) afterwards I got a call again. The whole wedding was canceled! The reason: We don't dare to take any risks with corona. But the whole restaurant is full, is that possible? Hardly any apologies were offered, no compensation, nothing. Oh yeah, and for the rest of the day they weren't available for questions as they were busy. I had often asked if they had more information, where the ceremony would be (the island was no longer possible), if the quotation could be adjusted, etc. Little response, short answers or even no response at all.

We are now married, we had a great day, of course at a different location. Other locations dare to. That makes us so angry, because it is not a decision of the government, but of brasserie de Berk itself. There is also no thought to arrange another location or whatever, no sympathy. You look forward to such a day a year in advance, and suddenly it is announced by telephone that we should not get married. And of course we understand that it is corona time, but we also often had a strange feeling when it was not yet corona time.

We've thought about sharing this, is it worth it ... yes, because maybe that way we save other bridal couples a lot of time and effort. We heard from other bridal couples who also planned / had planned their wedding that they felt very unwanted. Even though a location looks nice and cozy, it is less pleasant behind the scenes. this is our experience as our friends' was very positive last year, maybe it has changed? No idea. But never again for us.

The food used to be good here and at a decent price. However, the prices have been saved and the portions have become smaller. Nice to have a drink with a drink, but we will no longer dine.

Always busy, always good. Great to have a drink after a walk in the woods. The menu changes with the seasons. Different (large) dishes, but finger food is also possible. Match the terrace as an interior with the time of the year. If you definitely want a place, booking is a must!

Delicious high tea, a lot of variety in snacks, tea glasses a bit big so you have to put a lot of water in to get the tea in, after 2 glasses you have enough. Tables are very close together, you have to be careful when entering to avoid immediately eating your neighbors' food from their table. Staff friendly and attentive.

The menu is varied and not standard. Enough choice for both drinks and dinner.

Location is nice, large terrace. The only downside is that you are eating between smokers.

Very good restaurant. I have ordered a Bosburger and it was amazing. It was quite huge with french fries. I can only recommend. The service is great and the view is amazing.

Cozy dinner at De Berk. Friendly and attentive service. Atmospheric environment. The card is not delivered. The vitella tonnato is primarily a large pile of artfully stacked lettuce. The lamb is dry, luckily there was sauce with it. Etc.

Has become nice after the renovation, nice atmosphere on the outside. Especially when the weather is nice and the sun shines over the white sand. The only thing that needs attention is the reservations made on the outside terrace. Places are reserved, but the people (mostly cyclists, pedestrians, etc.) would like to enjoy a cup of coffee, a pastry for 12 hours. Which also does not take much time. But you have to sit inside. While there is still enough space outside on the terrace. Because the people who make the reservation only arrive an hour later. So there are best options to take a seat on the terrace instead of inside. Just discussing, it seems to me no problem if you just a cup of coffee and go back in time to enjoy the environment.

We went to the Berk for dinner tonight and it was almost 50 years ago that I came here to work out with the school (MTS on the watts road). Mr. van Overloop let us run for an hour at the school with a tour through the woods and the loose sand by the pond. Then there was a small pavilion now there is the Berk. It is a hip restaurant with a unique design ... both inside and out. The menu is reasonable with a fairly general, contemporary menu that the current generation prefers. We give this restaurant a very crowded 3.5. That is not a top score ... it could be 4, but there are only two toilets for the ladies in such a large restaurant. Tonight there was only 2x French fries and salad for 3 hamburger orders. So there are some points that they can easily improve, making them a good 4-star score. The service is very friendly and fast. ... still a bit inexperienced. Nice place to visit

Except for the italian waiter who was very friendly and funny I do not recomend it...boring all time the same food...standard quality...sad atmosphere...only if you are in big groups and you like to eat frikandellen and kassouifles...

Very nice eating place. Quietly situated in a very beautiful setting. The food is very tasty and sufficiently varied. Definitely worth a visit, it's best to make a reservation on summer evenings.

It is an incredibly cozy environment where you almost get an abundance of delicious dishes. Really worth it!

Bit massive. One waiter / waitress is not sure what the other is doing.
We were here in the afternoon for wine and appetizer. Wine and snacks were tasty, for sure.
But that just about every fifteen minutes to a maximum of 20 minutes one asks if everything is satisfactory (sometimes supplemented with the question if we want to order something: while all three glasses still have drinks and the etagiere is far from empty) that has me so annoyed that I really only wanted to give 1 star. I did not do that because a mistake had been made and an extremely friendly lady in a blue dress came to apologize. And let's be honest: the food and drinks were good.
Hopefully next time not as pushy every 15 minutes, because otherwise we probably won't come later ...

Cozy restaurant between kite and mountains on zoom. In the middle of the woods nature reserve. Friendly staff who sometimes lose the overview, but that should not spoil the fun. Not disturbing, you can eat well and have lunch enough parking space. Affordable and accessible to all walks of life. A good place to stay cycling and walking area, so after a good meal a nice walk. It is recommended to make a reservation for lunch or dinner.

Good food, lots for a few euros, good service, cozy atmosphere, and beautiful view.

High tea here is truly magnificent and will certainly be repeated in the future!

Plenty of room to sit. We were under a roof, which can also be opened in sunny weather. Big rain: small leak. Fortunately, not very busy, so there were enough dry places.
