Brandt Veterinary Clinic Review

We have taken all of our pets to Brandt and they are the best! Since we can't go inside due to covid precautions right now, Dr.Hendershot always calls personally to talk about their progress report and any treatment recommendations and never makes you feel rushed with questions you may have. The staff is equally good. When one of our pets has been sick, someone always calls to check on them - often multiple times. They are prompt in filling prescription refill requests, too. I highly recommend them.

We love our vet and so do our girls. In fact one of our girls Ruby had an appointment last week and her sister Opal insisted on going with. The girls aren't nervous at all because the staff is really great with them. I highly recommend Brandt Veterinarian Hospital.

We finally found the best Veterinary Clinic for our kids after two years! Dr. Hendershot and the staff are wonderful, caring, hands on and thorough. Our rottie, Axl Rose was diagnosed with diabetes and the time and patience Dr. Hendershot gave to me helping me with the shots meant the world to me. So happy and relieved we have found the best care for fur babies. Thank you Brandt Veterinary Clinic!

The clinic is phenomenal. All the staff are so caring for my dogs and cat. They also have kennel service which I have used many times. It is spotless as well as the rest of the clinic. Definitely a 5 star business. The prices are by far the best. Stop in and visit. You will feel comfortable about the experience. They even have separate doors for cats and dogs when you arrive. How cool.

I would not take my pets anywhere else. I have been going there for 30 years. I do suggest pet insurance to offset costs for illness and injury. They have excellent care and I have never felt like an inconvenience. The staff is excellent.

This is an A1 place to take your fur babies that you want treated like your very own!! I have witnessed it from the one whom answers the phone, to the one takes your fur baby into the clinic to the doctor that calls and takes the time to explain the exam. Dr. Cantwell generally cares about your animals because it's not about the medical part but just how it truly relates to the longevity of your animal. She explained why my dog needed a vaccine here in Florida that I didn't need in Illinois. She is a busy lady that doesn't hurry you off the phone. They do offer video exams too. I have been with them many years and would not hesitate to call upon them with any concerns of my loved ones!!

Dr Kate and the whole staff do a super job with care for my Dog. They take the extra time to make sure she is loved.

I took my.momma dog in after 1 1/2 hours labor. She whelped on her iwn. Called me asked if i wanted 175 00 in xrqys. I declined many times on phone. .
Staff seems caring but ignores qnd kept saying u arent even close to the 1000 deposit the got but kept qsking for more things for them to get to deposit. Dont get me wrong. They took her in on a minute but afyer that seemed to be about hiw much more they could get. Sad i qm in pet industry and it supposed to be somewhat about the pet.

They take great care of my cat and I appreciate that.

The entire staff here is very kind, compassionate, and accommodating; they're very clear about treatment plans, costs, and just what is necessary for the long term health of our pets, without selling you things you don't really need. I take my 7 month old kitten there and let me just say, i love taking her there! she is more calm there rather than going to a different clinic where she hisses at everyone. the staff is unbelievably nice and the doctor really knows what she is doing! i would recommend this place to everyone in a heartbeat!

Intelligent, sensitive, quick yet still very thorough veterinarian and staff

Recently Had to put down our 14 year old pug, as he was in extreme pain and the entire staff at Brandt Vet Clinic was wonderful, through the whole process. Dr. Cantwell even followed up with a personal note. The personal service is second to none. Thank you.

Within the last week, my ailing neutered male Persian, D'Artagnan, and I went to Dr. Luna; she diagnosed him, hydrated him, gave him an antibiotic and an anti-diarrhetic, and provided me with clear instructions on follow-up at home. She clearly loves animals and what she does for them, and she makes sure pet owners are also cared for with reassurance and advice.

D'Artagnan has had dental surgery by Dr. Luna, too, and his care and recovery were A1 then, also.

The staff are supportive and caring; follow-up calls help with post-office visit counseling for both patient and pet owner. They all go the extra distance to support you/me!

Our last dog passed away in June of this year. This is not a fun time but the compassion and care given to our family was heartfelt and much appreciated. We picked up a puppy from the Polk County Animal Control who will now be given the same care and treatment. Our last dog had been cared for by Dr. Kate and her staff for approx. 15 years. Our hope is that period will be matched or exceeded.

Very nice and friendly veterinarian. Doctor was thorough. A bit expensive but only will do what you want.

We have used this facility to board our 2 cats and 2 dogs for the past 3 years. I believe the care given is very good, but I have recently had difficulty in receiving any feedback from them about the time spent in the "pet resort". Previously, they were each given a "report card" which was for all intents and purposes for our enjoyment. They were very entertaining, but they also gave an indication that the staff had interacted with our pets. This was not done the last 2 times they were there, each time with the reason being that their computers were down.
One of our cats is on medication 2 times per day for asthma which needs to be adjusted regularly according to his needs. No one could tell me if he was coughing excessively or if it was under control. Each time this happened, I called on the following Monday. I was assured that someone would get back to me via email which never happened.

I have now received the reports, and I really appreciate the quick response. I checked all my email folders to see if I had missed something, and nothing had been received. Where it went, nobody knows. It's out in cyberspace somewhere for the enjoyment of others. All my boys are happy and eagerly awaiting their next visit. Thank you!

Perfect experience...needed emergency service for my cat and new to area so wasn't established. They were responsive and provided excellent care.

we found a lost puppy last week and wanted to take it to the vet to be checked. we are still looking for the owners, so didn t want to spend too much money just yet, and we told them this. i called to make the appointment and they quoted me that the visit would cost $97 for check up + rabies + nail trim. we arrived and of course they told us $280 for a bunch of other vaccines. we declined those and said just the check up and nail trim please and he went in solo, due to covid 19. we got a call ten minutes later that they weren t able to do the check up because the dog had too much anxiety. They suggested anti-anxiety medication and that we come back for the check up. They still charged us for the check up, which we tried to argue that they weren t fully able to do. we mentioned that we had just found a dog when we made the appointment, obviously it is natural for a lost or stray dog to be nervous at the veterinarians office, any dog would be nervous.

***They should have mentioned that if the dog has anxiety they will not do the procedures and that we would still be charged. OR it should be our choice if we want them to proceed even if the dog is anxious. i ve had several dogs and none of them have enjoyed going to the vet. we feel this was a complete scam for money. we weren t even with the dog, so who knows what really went on in there. i m sure the people here are nice, but money is their priority.

I encountered traffic accident, called told them I be there asap Got there (99+ in sun) tech told me to text from outside prior to my baby going in. I had let grandson use phone so I told her I did not have phone. She got very annoyed..said HOWCHOW SOMEONE NOT HAVE A CELL PHONE? 99* out with pup . Told me go around back NO SHADE NO CHAIR...said to wait in car with AC running cuz we were late. Never said cell was needed prior to appt. I was a loyal 8 year cash paying 2 puppy mom...told her this and all I got was you were late wait in car. No Shade ,no do you/pup need water, no waiting area. UNREAL DON'T GO THERE. Used to be special, extremely poor customer relations and just LEFT ME AND DOG STANDING IN FRYING SUN. Got baby's records...they lost a faithful consumer.

I love the personal care my cat and I receive, like the separate cat interest, my cat's name on the board welcoming patients for the day and the no fear treatment by the staff!

Both doctors are amazing! All of the staff is amazing. They are so patient with everything and take their time to make sure the pet is happy all the time. This makes such a difference especially when you have a pet who is a worry wart...they give him the little extra TLC he needs to ensure every visit he leaves happier than ever! These are my three babies and I will always choose brandt!

Had a great experience. Took my cat into the Clinic the same day that I called. They took care of his problem and he's back feeling himself.

Very helpful. The Doctor delivered bad news very professionally and gave suggestions on how best to proceed while letting me make the best fecision for me and my dog. Just wish we would have met under better circumstances. Appointment was on time. Didn't go inside due to Covid.

omg vet called me 2nd time check n see if my dogs were ok after care. I have a 17-18 year old greyhound and a 8 year old whippet such good care of my puppies. So awesome.

My dog went in again for a bite and again they were awesome.

Spent $1000 on tests and was told there was probably nothing wrong with my cat who was clearly more than nervous, he was in Pain. A few hours later, he was gone. Merry Christmas.

Please, if you have any real respect do not write me some polite and "caring" response about how you do your best. This is my review and my beloved pet is gone.

The empathy, sincerity, genuineness, and compassion, along with the level of care, from the time I moved here in 2017 until present with my pets, speaks a great deal about this practice and their intention, which is good and to truly help animals and the people whom love them as their own children. Brandt helped me with my fuzzy babies through my high risk pregnancy and now with a special needs child as I had no family here. To all the Doctors and Staff at Brandt..."Thank You" you have been through some of the toughest times with my fuzzy babies and I, I have the utmost trust in your care, and I appreciate all you have, and continue to do. I cannot put into words how grateful I am! You have all been amazing to my babies and I cannot thank you enough!!!!

My baby, Belle, and I were there yesterday to follow up tomorrow with an ultrasound and then back for consult.
We were treated like family.

Approximately 2 weeks ago our cat Nala was seen by this clinic and diagnosed with a tooth abcess. Unfortunately this was the incorrect diagnosis and she actually had cancer and had to be euthanized yesterday. Perhaps the vet needs to expand her fund of knowledge and/or widen her differential diagnosis.

I took my dog there and they were more interested in there pocketbook than your animal they want to over charge and more interested in selling teeth cleaning than helping up sale up sale up sale then the vet that saw my dog was out of town and asked if they could recommend something over the counter till she came back they said no that they would charge me for a new consolation then could give him a shot for pain what a terrible experience will not be going back and will not recommend them either my dogs condition ear hemotoba I know not that serious but he is family to me

We have taken our puppy "Daisy" to Brandt for 8 months now. They take excellent care of her. The team always responds quickly to emailed communication as well.

Even though I moved quite far from the Clinic, I continue to take my dog to Brandt because of their professionalism, their care and their friendly environs. Surprisingly, my dog ENJOYS going to the vet... and so do I. Brandt Veterinary Clinic certainly has earned our unqualified "five-star" rating.

Everyone is so caring and compassionate. You are never rushed, all your questions are answered, even the silly ones. We have taken our 2 dogs here for 7 years and wouldn't go anywhere else!

We've been taking our cats to this clinic for about 25 years. The care has been outstanding. We feel Brandt Veterinary Clinic is the best place to care for our fur babies. They are mindful of the difference between felines and canines and make every effort to keep pets calm and comfortable while in their care.

Our female cat, Violet, kept having reoccurring UTI's/FLUTD. It was occurring off an on over a year and a half. Dr. Cantwell and Dr. Hendershot advised us it was more of a behavioral issue, caused by anxiety and they recommended that we work in conjunction with a specialist. We were at wits end to get this situation resolved and planned on seeking a second opinion. In our minds, there was absolutely nothing going on at our home for Violet to be stressed out about, there's no way what the docs were telling us made sense to us. Honestly, my husband and I were very skeptical but felt we needed to try something else to get her issues under control to give her the best quality of life. We decided to trust the docs at Brandt and move forward with their recommendation.

The bottom line is thanks to the team at Brandt and the cat behavioral specialist, Violet's issues are resolved and we now know how to deal with it. The docs @ Brandt were 100% correct that she didn't get UTI's that need to be treated with antibiotics but rather has bouts of cystitis caused by anxiety that needed a particular treatment method. We're absolutely amazed and impressed as this was not resolved through traditional feline care or traditional meds. We learned so much working through this issue with Violet.

We just had Violets 6 month check up and I told Dr. Cantwell that we apologize for not totally believing her and Dr. Hendershot. Both doctors were patient and understanding with us as we really questioned and doubted their opinions as to why this was happening to Violet.

We are happy to write this review for others to see. Perhaps someone may read this that is in a similar situation so they can help their pet, too.

My emergency visit with my new puppy resulted in a thorough exam and diagnosis. Treatment prescribed has shown significant improvement. Wonderful caring staff & especially dr Hendershot.

Kind, thoughtful and knowledgeable. I am very impressed with their staff and procedures. We feel lucky to have them as our vets.

Always deliver an incredible experience. Our dog, Honey, loves going to the vet because of these folks! Our experiences with Ashley, the tech, and Dr. Cantwell far surpass any expectations. The effort that is put into making the dog feel welcome, safe, and cared for is truly appreciated. Honey gets almost as many pets, treats, and as much love from the Brandt team as she does at home! They always keep the dog s best interests in mind and offer a welcoming environment- and this is more than can be said about a lot of people doctors.

Something that really stuck out to me, was after a trip to the emergency hospital (different establishment) from ingesting a tray of dark chocolate brownies- our vet from Brandt received the records from BluePearl and called us to follow up on how Honey was feeling even though they weren t present (or open) at the time of treatment from the other establishment.

Would recommend this office without ANY reservations. The waiting room is also very clean and inviting and the exam rooms are spacious. The Doctor offers quality time with the dog and you don t feel like you re being rushed out so they can see other patients.

We have been going to Brandt Veterinary Clinic for the past 8 years. Their staff is the best! Dr.Kate is the most professional and caring veterinarian we have ever met. The treatment programs, the medical equipment and heartfelt tender care are second to none. I wouldn't even consider taking my loving pets anywhere else. Brandt Veterinarian Clinic is truly the "Mayo Clinic for Veterinarian Care". If you want the best go to Brandt!

I found them to be quite caring about our dog's needs, and talked with us at length about appropriate treatments.

I have been in search of a good Fear Free practice since moving to the area. This hospital is worth the 45 min drive! Even with curbside appointments I felt at ease sending my dog in to a new place. She did excellent!
