Inhumane

Years ago I had surgery there and had to stay the night. I was in incredible pain but wasn't allowed to sleep; every hour or so the sand nurse came by to shine a flashlight into my eyes until I'd be responding. The third time she did this I asked for painkillers. She responded no, I should have asked for those before night hours. The next day she found out necessary to ridicule me for being in pain to the other patients in the same room. I call that inhumane. Disgusting how they treat people there. I've started going to the hospital in Almere after that and I recommend anyone in Amsterdam Noord to do the same

Came by in the night because a friend of mine had broken his hand. The sister who helped us was very unkind, very hard and clearly had no patience or desire. We did everything she asked and were polite and yet she continued to act unkind and unprofessional. Really amazing. Another sister was very nice and so were the people from the Bali.

Ziekenhuis algemeen:
Communicatie in het boven ij kan veel beter. Snap dat het druk is, maar dan nog is de overdracht tussen de diensten belangrijk.

Dermatologie:
Erg aardig personeel, ook de dermatoloog is erg goed en luisterd naar je. Geeft met haar advies echt jou de keuze hoe nu verder.
Helaas maar 1 cabine voor licht therapie.

Inschrijf personeel:
Erg aardig en behulpzaam, ga zo door :) een visite kaartje voor het boven-ij.

Uitstekend ziekenhuis. Zeer vriendelijke medewerkers, assistenten en bekwame artsen. Goed geoutilleerd, moderne apparatuur. Prima. nazorg en al met al waanzinnig veel aandacht. Gelegen op goede locatie, alleen minder snel bereikbaar met het OV. Om de oorzaak van gezondheidsproblemen aan te pakken, zou ik als ziekenhuis voorbeeld stellen en kiezen voor een gezond aanbod in de corners. Een einde aan het saucijzenbroodje.

I had a bike accident, lost my consciousness, my face was bleeding. Got into this hospital and at the desk they asked me if I have an appointment...after I told then that it is an emergency :)
I asked for an ice, never received it, they did not offer to clean the blood neither, just looked at me with a pity and suggested to take the painkillers. I could have my bones broken, no one bathered to check. If you could avoid this place, do it. (And BTW, I paid for this visit EUR 140...)

I just finished my cardiac rehabilitation ..... I can recommend it to anyone after an infarction. Very involved team to help you through the difficult weeks afterwards, to deal with your fears and uncertainties. You learn a lot, not in the last place from your "fellow sufferers" and despite everything also laughed a lot with each other. Thanks everyone.

Very unfriendly staff ... My mother would have an appointment that was made urgently. She could not meet these due to the very unfriendly way of dealing with my mother. My mother is foreign and does not speak Dutch very well, then it is already rude to say, yes in this way I do not understand anything, madam, you may speak a little more clearly. Lees veel negativiteit over dit ziekenhuis, jammer dat er weinig begrip is voor de druk waar deze sector ( het personeel ) zich in begeeft...
Zelf ben ik hier vaak geweest en gewoon correct en goed behandelt. Denk dat als je zelf netjes bent je dat ook terug krijgt.
Dingen kunnen altijd beter, maar heb het idee dat iedereen zijn best doet.

Today 22 May 2018 at 8:35 am to the Emergency Room with my 5-year-old son sent with a hole in his forehead bloodied because they are supposedly busy waiting room was empty and we were asked to "better" go to the doctor to glue. They send you away without checking a 5 year old boy if he is not a concussion or anything else hey top hospital it's just a head wound !!!!

I was on the waiting list for a total new hip. How nervous and nervous I was. My environment can confirm this. I was reassured when I arrived. The whole recording from start to finish is a very pleasant experience. Even during the operation (I had a spinal puncture). Everything was explained. Nothing is too much. The care in the recovery room, the care at admission, the care at the ok, the care at the nursing ward, the food assisting, the housekeeping, the orthopets, the physiotherapy and who I have forgotten. Everything was negotiable. Very grateful that I am cared for there. I work in healthcare myself. Strange but a good experience to experience.

Stayed for three nights in the mother-child center. What a fantastic concern. All care (for mother and for the baby) came to the room. Everyone was very friendly and the communication was excellent. They were there for us day and night.

The person who gives this hospital more than 2 stars is probably working as a doctor or nurse in the BovenIJ. The hospital is terrible and extremely unprofessional, not to mention the messy administration and communication with the insurance companies.

I had a very bad experience I was on vacation in Amsterdam last October, where I felt very dizzy, tired, and a strong tinnitus, which are symptoms of high blood pressure. I arrived with great difficulty at the hospital as it was the nearest hospital according to GPS data, I requested assistance from the emergency department. Unfortunately the reception people was very tepid and they refused to let me see an emergency doctor or at least review my vital signs. The receptionist asked me to wait an extra two hours to see the family doctor even though I told her that I was feeling very sick. because of that experience I had alot of bad impressions especially that it was my first visit to the Netherlands. If the hospital administration is concerned with the matter, the time of my visit .to the hospital was on 10/25/2019 around 4 pm

The care they provide to patients needs to be improved quickly. The nurses speak in an unfriendly way. They treat patients with little respect. They tell patients to do everything themselves. These things happened to my mother in the hospital in ward 3 North. My mom had major surgery and it took 3 and a half hours and yet they ordered her to do everything herself, ordered her to bathe and go out and walk and unload the bags hanging from her own body. There is also a button, there you push if you need something, but you also have to wait at least ten minutes before coming to help you. I have filed a complaint and I have spoken to the department head, but it is useless. The head of the department defends her nurses herself, but I'm not stopping that. I will file a case with the independent committee against the nurse who treated my mother with little respect. I RECOMMEND EACH PATIENT IF YOU CAN CHOOSE WHICH HOSPITAL TO DO OPERATION IN, DO NOT CHOOSE THE ABOVE IJ. As they are not qualified to receive and care for patients. The management of this hospital does not look at their patients and the care they provide to their patients.

2x in het z'huis gelegen, De meeste artsen zijn ze...

2x in het z'huis gelegen, De meeste artsen zijn zeer capabel en behandelen de mensen met respect. De 2 die het niet deden zijn weg. 4 sterren
Op sommige verpleeg afdelingen hangt een nare sfeer er wordt vaak gezegd dat mensen uit A'dam Noord geen I.Q hebben, of ik kijk op die domme mensen neer. Dit is natuurlijk niet te toleren.
Van de verpleegsters zijn er die het zelfs presteerden een gevallen oude dame aan de armen naar de kamer te sleuren al schreeuwend : U had ons moeten roepen. toen werd ze op haar bent gedonderd. dit om 12 uur 'snachts. Ik heb hier duidelijk mijn ongenoegen over laten blijken en het gemeld. De andere verpleegsters waren geweldig. verpleegsters op 1afdeling 1ster op de andere 4 sterren.
Dr Wiersema is een onbeschofte vlerk, maar ook hij is weg naar Hoorn.
Dit jaar bij de trauma-arts-gebroken bovenarm en nu de orthopeed geweest. Pracht mensen.

Mijn vrouw is in het Boven Ij ziekenhuis bevallen van onze zoon.

Vanaf het eerste moment perfecte begleiding gehad wat betreft informatie over de bevalling en vervolgens ook tijdens de bevalling zelf.

Bekwaam personeel en bovenal heel erg menselijk en vriendelijk!Hele fijne bevalling gehad en ook een top afhandeling. Erg lief voor de moeder en het kind en niks is te gek!

Zelfs toen we na 3 dagen terugkwamen aangezien onze kleine wat mankeerde kon ze weer opgenomen worden voor een nacht en kon ik zelfs blijven slapen.

Als je met een gerust hart in een ziekenhuis wilt bevallen is dit het ziekenhuis waar je moet zijn!

Boven Ij bedankt en tot de volgende kleine!

Did not have high expectations when the ambulance took me to the BovenIJ hospital. Perfectly captured from the first moment. Broken hip. Operated immediately next day, apparently very well, because the second day could do everything again and because I wanted to go home again. Good care (except 1 sister, but good average for 20 sisters). Perfect surgeon.

This is a very bad hospital. Delivery of our first child has been here due to slow access. Very poorly supervised. Sent home too soon.

Second child has been there for days. In the end it turned out to be a simple double ear infection.

First aid does not have a triage, so the reception simply sends you directly to the waiting room.

This hospital has also been assessed as poor in the Elsevier study for many years. In short, if you can go somewhere else that is advisable.

Brought in in the late afternoon by ambulance with...

Brought in in the late afternoon by ambulance with a broken ankle. Helped immediately, very friendly and professional staff, operated upon 10 days later (when the swelling had subsided), informative staff, surgeon. Was planned to stay overnight, but since everything went well and nurses helped me to get an early appointment with a physio therapist, I was released early in the evening instead of the next morning, thereby releasing a bed for someone else.

2 checks, change and removal of cast since. Same experience, quick, professional friendly
staff and a general atmosphere like you feel at home.

Of course all of the above at minimal out of pocket cost thanks to our Dutch
socialised health care system.

Paid almost 3000 for an emergency situation with my 5 month old. Cash, as I am not insured through the Dutch healthcare system. Trying to get a proper invoice now, but communication is very very poor. People seem ill informed, don t return phone calls or messages through their website. Doctors seemed ok, but the administration and everything else is chaotic. Would not recommend this place unless you re insured and don t care what you get while it s already paid for.

Benjamin is net 3 weken oud, krijgt last van benau...

Benjamin is net 3 weken oud, krijgt last van benauwdheid, na alle kanten bellen en aan alle deuren kloppen komen we in boven t y ziekenhuis terecht. Hij wordt opgenomen en blijft 2 nachten daar slapen. Hij kan naar huis de klacht is nog steeds aanwezig. Na paar dagen moet hij weer in ziekenhuis nu krijgt hij ventoline mee. Naar ziekenhuis en weer naar huis dat herhaalt bijna 3 maanden. Elke keer als we daar komen krijgen we schuld dat we de ventoline niet op goede wijze gebruiken en daardoor herstelt Benjamin niet. Elke keer doen we dan even voor dan blijkt dat we toch wel goed doen. Wat heeft hij dan? Vraag ik me af.
We komen per toeval op amc voor regelmatig controle bij kindernefroloog. Hij kijkt, vraagt waarom zo lang duurt? Gelijk roept hij longarts bij. Vervolgens wordt bronchocopie naedergegaan. Nu blijkt dat hij aan een kant van zijn long kleiner luchtwegen heeft waardoor hij niet zo goed kan ademen. Kleine luchtwegen kun je niet met ventoline groter maken.
De dokters op boven t y doen aardig maar geven ons erg behoorlijk slecht gevoel alsof ze totaal niet naar ons luisteren en makkelijk vanaf willen komen.
We wisten echt waar we moeten aankloppen.

Worst experience ever! Had an appointment for an ultrasound, doctor was not friendly. Was my first time and was completely uncomfortable. Nothing was explained, no conversation afterwards. Simply terrible to want to see an ultrasound of your baby as expectant parents.

Excellent service and trained, kind, helpful staff. I had a problem during a stay in Amsterdam and in this hospital they were all exceptional, both day and night. Everyone speaks English and tries to put the patient at ease. I waited for the right time and in any case I was constantly informed about the evolution of the processes. Thanks to all and congratulations

This hospital is the biggest fraud I have encountered in my entire life. Be careful, they will send frauduleus fake huge bills to your insurance company, and you can't do anything about it! Your insurance company will say "It's your problem, you have to go after them", and boven ij will say they will not do anything for you. The service is terrible and they will do other stuff that wasn't in your description that your doctor gave you to bring to the hospital. I had to wait for more than 6 hours in the emergency room! Just to hear from the intern radiology that I could go home. They billed 600 euro to my insurance and I have to pay 50% of that! Biggest fraud place in this country. Try to pass this building with at least 100 km radius around it, otherwise you will have to pay for air.

Unexpected, my wife and I "ended up" at the BovenI...

Unexpected, my wife and I "ended up" at the BovenIJ ziekenhuis for the birth of our daughter. We were very happily surprised.

During the tough hours towards delivery, the staff was communicative and we felt that we were in good hands. Our options were well explained and that was really helpful by making the "right" decisions (and also feeling good about them afterwards).

The 3,5 days that we end up spending in the BovenIJ ziekenhuis, my wife was helped intensively with breast feeding. The staff was flexible, caring and friendly. And above all: human (and not professionally robotic or stressed).

A pleasant small scale hospital.

Het is inmiddels al een aantal maanden terug ( jan...

Het is inmiddels al een aantal maanden terug ( januari 2020) dat ik geholpen ben in het BovenIJ ziekenhuis op de afdeling Gynaecologie.

Ik kijk nog altijd met een zeer tevreden en fijn gevoel terug naar de manier waarop ik ben behandeld.

Ik voelde me als vrouw begrepen door dokter Teune. Ik werd een dag voor mijn operatie door dokter ten Cate thuis gebeld en gerust gesteld. Al mijn vragen werden door haar met engelen geduld beantwoord. Mede door haar was mijn angst voor de operatie flink afgenomen.

Na de operatie op afdeling 3 Noord fijn opvangen door onder andere verpleegkundige Rinja en Joanne. Ik voelde me op geen enkel moment aan mijn lot overgelaten.

Wat fijn dat er nog mensen zijn die hart voor hun vak hebben.

Vandaag hier bij een familielid op kraamvisite geweest.
Het is een ouderwets gebouw wat nodig een make-over nog heeft. Personeel was niet attent naar ons toe. Ze boden ons geen koffie en beschuit met muisjes aan. Bij andere ziekenhuizen ben ik dat wel gewend.

In addition, there are still plenty of good doctors out there internally and the GP station where I am. the last time with my mother was nothing but lovely and helpful people also in the nursing ward very sweet and good care
