They were very friendly. Who can beat a free beer tour. They had an event going on while I was there. Everyone was enjoyable and had a really nice time. Would highly recommend a visit. Even if you aren't that into beer.

Great tour! Due to the closed subway and getting rerouted on buses we were a few minutes late for the last tour, but they let us join them anyhow. Our guide, Tomas, was wicked smart when it comes to Samuel Adams beer.

The free tour is probably 30-45 minutes long and you get about 16oz of beer. They don t take you around too much of the brewery. The last beer we had was beer they were testing to see if they should bring it to market. The gift shop is reasonably priced unlike your average end of the Disney ride souvenir shop. The tap room is nice with about 20 beers on tap.

Loved the Bierkeller experience! Great to try something different in terms of beer and cheese! Highly recommend and highly recommend the tap room after, especially for anyone not from the area and unlikely to try some of the good beer produced here.
Our host was also excellent, a shame he is leaving in 2 weeks!

Free beer this is normally a myth on the level of big foot or el chupacabra but this brewery tour is like finding one of these mythical beasts. Went with a group of four buddies had an absolute blast got a great enthusiastic guide and we were some of the youngest on the tour so got to drink other tables left over pitchers of delicious FREE beer. Highly recommend heading to Doyle's after for some more pints, rubens, chowder. Doyle's! But said enough said elixir of the gods for free why not plus we got sweet tasting glasses and Sam Adams pint glasses.

We did the morning mash-in tour and we were very happy. We tasted several beers and learned about the history and the process. It's also nice to know that the owner does things to give back to the he community and to the micro-brewing community.

Great experience to do small group in Boston. The guided tour lasts approximately 1 hour. Morning Mash visit at $ 10 in the morning is a visit to which extras are added. The beer tasting at the end of the visit is really well organized and the staff is passionate and gives excellent explanations

We took a free tour of the brewery. Our guide was personable and knowledgeable. Without cost, we were able to sample different brews as the differences in them were explained to us in detail. We REALLY enjoyed our visit.

I toured the brewery in August of 2013 and it was a great way to spend a couple of hours in the afternoon. The tour guides, Eric and Brendan, were hilarious and informative and the tasting was lots of fun. I would definitely do it again if I'm in town, and the best part is it's free!

Funny, short and informative tour of the Sam Adams brewery. This is where they invent their new flavors, not where they actually produce the beer for major distribution. Definitely worth a stop - if not for the free tour then for the free beer ;)

There will be no more Sam Adams beer in this house. Jim Koch may be enjoying his pay raise, compliments of the recent tax law. I sincerely hope he has shared his generous pay raise with his hard working employees, but I cannot support the business of anyone so short-sighted.

I will never buy or consume your products again. Have fun with the non drinking president. Support for him or any policy he pushes makes you a partner in his crimes against the People of USA and the World.
Too bad I did like your products. I just threw out 2 cases for a party, I would rather drink water.

A fun/informative (FREE) tour will teach the brewery's history; experience the entire process (start to finish), and then have (FREE) drinks in your (FREE) tasting glass! Pro Tip: Mail out a postcard (FREE) from the lobby of the store + stay near the back of the tour on the third stop (the large steel barrel room) to get a prime seat in the tasting room. Food @ Doyle's (via shuttle) afterward.

Guided tour with tasting. The tour is quick, and not so deep about the beer making process, as the visitor is more interested in drinking his own at a manufacturer !!!. In the end, as always, the shop, very good by the way, and the bar serving all SAMUEL ADAMS beers. I'll be back for sure !!! You who read my comments and see my photos, put the likes to the end !!

It was a fun tour for all ages. Not too long. Kids get a root beer at tasting time and can hang out it the bar area after. You get to taste established beers and test a new one. Then you can vote to help the company decide to push it to production. Apparently there is also a $30 tour that gives you barrel beer tasting and a cheese plate but we took the free tour
We had a side conversation with our guide who explained that they were doing an internal competition and whomever won could produce their beer at larger scale. Staff is super nice.

Best beer! Who doesn't love a free your and FREE beer! Great to see the brewery of my favorite beer. Gift shop was great, but they had a tap handle that had chipped paint, I told them I would buy it for a discounted price and they told me they throw them away if they're defective.

The tour was fun, brief (45mins), and just the right amount of information. The tastings are at the end of the tour and include known beers such as Boston Lager and Summer Ale, as well as specialty beers like Blueberry Whip. Then you can hangout in the tasting room with outdoor seating.

Very informative and delicious free tours. This is a testing brewery, so there are some flavors they will only feature here as they may not ever hit thr shelves in stores. Definetly a must do if you going to Boston.

This famous brewery is everything you expected and more. My husband and I decided to check out Sam Adams during our Boston visit. We didn t want to partake in the 1 hour long free tour as we had been traveling most of the day. We were welcomed into the brewery, talked to a brewmaster that gave us two flights based on our preferences. We were completely trustworthy and not disappointed. It was a Friday afternoon and though the brewery was filled indoors and out, it was fun and full of life. They had a great playlist of alternative classic pop punk and rock bands from the 2000 s, which encouraged complete strangers to sing along together. My husband and I were on an empty stomach and thankfully there was a vendor there selling chicken empanadas (a little dry but tasty).

The great selections of sours, IPA s, blondes and unique combinations was perfection. I actually thoroughly enjoy sours but these one had more of a delicate tang on your tongue, wow! The Moscow Mule beer (highly recommended by the brewtender) was my absolute favorite. I also loved the Dry Irish Stout. I m not a huge IPA fan, however these were comfortable and tasty. My husband and I had a great time here and enjoyed our flight so much. We were very happy with the friendly and knowledgeable staff and efficiency during the busy Friday afternoon. Keep up the wonderful work everyone!

Do the Bier Keller tour! If you are familiar with how beer is made save yourself some time and enjoy this tour. Rare tastings of barrel aged beers in the barrel cellar with very knowledgeable staff make for a great tour. 45 minutes and $30 for tastings of beers that are not available on the open market is a win. The beers are paired with delightful cheeses that help bloom the flavor and provide a nice counterpoint to the often boozy aspects of the barrel aged beers. Toast the newfound knowledge in the taproom with 16 beers on tap and a shuffleboard table to test your skills!

It was a super fun the tour! Got to try a bunch of the experimental brews which they primarily brew out of this location; the original Sam Adams location. I learned the proper way on how to taste beer! Our tour guide Dani was great! She was super knowledgable and friendly. I had no idea Sam Adams won that many awards! It was impressive! Definitely is a must visit Brewery in Boston.

Side note: It was a little confusing on finding the entrance but we found it. Parking was a little tough too.

#CaitIsGreat. She was funny, entertaining, and knowledgeable. I usually don't care about hearing "how it's made" but she turned the boring stuff into a good time. For the tasting, sit in the back towards the middle.. pitchers end up on your table so you can enjoy more than one glass.

Not bad. Guinness is better soooo far!!
The tour is not long but they have no system production in comparison with the Guinness.
Free entrance and tour, free degustation of beer and they give you the glass as a gift.
The Gift Shop, small and not too much products to choose. Guinness shop: amazing.
The beer: excellent.

Did the Bierkeller tour on a rainy afternoon with Nora as our guide! We were pleasantly surprised with the three aged beers that were available. Nora did a good job of explaining the process behind each of the beers and matching it with the two cheeses that were available from a local farm. After the tour, we were given time to look around in the barrel room which is filled to the ceiling with barrels from various scotch and whiskey companies. For $30 a person, you receive three beer samples, two cheese samples, and a souvenir glass. Worth every penny.
