Founded in 2011 by a group of college students who wanted to make a difference in their community, Books4Cause has grown into an international organization with over 50 drop-off locations across the United States. The mission of Books4Cause is simple - to promote literacy by collecting books from individuals and organizations and redistributing them to those in need.
Donating books through Books4Cause is easy. You can drop off your gently used books at one of their many bins located throughout the country or participate in one of their book drives held throughout the year. If you're unable to make it to a drop-off location or book drive, you can also mail your donations directly to Books4Cause.
Once received, all donated books are sorted by volunteers who determine which ones are suitable for redistribution based on condition and relevance. The selected books are then sent out either locally or globally depending on the needs of each program.
Books donated through Books4Cause have made an impact both locally and globally. In Chicago alone, over 100 schools have received libraries thanks to donations made through Books4Cause. Globally, they have partnered with organizations such as World Vision International and shipped thousands of books overseas.
In addition to promoting literacy through book donations, Books4Cause also supports environmental sustainability efforts by keeping unwanted books out of landfills.
