This is my Bonadelle experience. We had to wait 3 months past our move in date. That means paying for extra rent and storage. We asked if we could back out because we could not wait any longer. They said they would keep our (very large) down payment if we backed out. Their motto is "building value for generations" they are building value for their own wallet and thats it. I understand its a business, but for a company that prides themselves in serving families how can you make them wait 3 months longer than originally agreed upon and want to hold their cash when they want to back out? Unethical. When our house was finally ready we did our walk through and found multiple things to be fixed. They told us if we gave them the weekend and took our keys the following week they would fix these things during the weekend. So we waited, we got our keys the following week and sure enough nothing was fixed. I understand there will always be reasonable work orders, such as paint touch ups and settling from the foundation. However, we have had way to many issues for a brand new build.
Example: Large pieces of tile floors were not grouted, ink/numbers coming through the baseboards, walls just not painted, trim cut to short that does not meet with the floor, paint on the carpet and laminate, front porch and garage lights didn't work, doorbell not connected, hole in stucco, stove not connected and tilted forward at a 40 degree angle, had to retrench entire side yard so the yard would not flood, the bathroom wall was very crooked, and countless other things I can't and don't want to remember.
Not only that, but the contractors would be sent the wrong work orders from the warranty department, therefore they would show up and not have the right product for the job. And on two occasions they just never showed up for our scheduled appointments period. The warranty department, project manager, and sales staff never took accountability for the problems they created. I also know I am not the only one with a bad experience, many of my neighbors are very unhappy with their experience as well. These houses are slightly priced below market value and the models are appealing, sure. I advice before settling with Bonadelle you look around. If you choose them as a builder get your move in date set in stone because they can drag it on as long as they like. Also, be prepared for numerous people coming in and out to fix things. Best of luck!
