A really informative yet fun museum, provides an in depth view on how your body works and functions

Wouldn't recommend for young children as it may be a bit boring and it requires you to read a lot

Definitely buy tickets online as they are much more expensive on the door

Wonderful experience.

Wonderful experience.
Not allowed to very sensible people, but my daughter enjoyed the Bodyworlds in Rome when she was 10 yo!
Plastination is a process in which the body s tissue fluid is replaced by a reactive polymer (silicone rubber) with the aid of a special vacuum process. The body is then placed in the desired position and then hardened. The process also allows for the preservation of ultra-thin slices of the human body.

Was an interesting experience, my first time visiting a body worlds. It was as expected from the ads I've seen throughout the years. Took a while to adjust to the fact that these are the actual bodies of people. Once past that learned a lot about how the body works, with a focus on "happiness" at this particular location, and what organs look like through various ailments (such as cancer, etc...).

Museum to see if you are interested in science. Beautiful exhibitions (beware the exhibitions can be impressive)
The price is a bit high and be careful at reception you will need to rent a cloakroom if you have a backpack (2 more ...)
Have a nice visit

I had seen this museum and could not wait to see it, only that my expectations were different, I expected many more exhibits and less scientific things, but all in all it was a very constructive and particular experience!
The bodies don't make an impression, on the contrary they don't even seem real! The only thing that impressed me was the exposure of the fetuses.
Recommended for a constructive visit and to be more aware of how we are made!

Very interesting and impressive! The entire human body in the picture!
When you enter you go with the elevator to 6 high and from there the happy journey begins! And at the end you can have everything calculated from your own body!
Had a very nice day with my husband and my 10 year old son, who also thought it was very beautiful! I recommend it!

Some might describe this kind of museum as gruesome, or scary, but I found it fascinating. Yes, the whole human body is on display, but it's not just that. This gives you a way better understanding of what the human body actually exists of, instead of drawings or just different body parts, displayed on a picture. Now you will see it how it actually is.

Weird to see the internal workings of the human body. I managed to haggle the admission price down from 23.50 to 15.00 a head because of an app I had that did really good deals on all the local attractions (getyourguide)

Incredible, sometimes frightening yet amazingly interesting tot see the capabilities of the human body. Frightening as in: wake-up call for the life style everybody is living. Reading definitely means learning and, as I did, you might take somethings home as good advice! (Smoking, drinking, exercise, life-style). Must see.

A good exibition about the body. You got to see and read about every little part, from muscles, bones, brain, heart and so on. Interesting to know that the bodies are real.
Especially liked that the theme was happines, and had bits of research on happines connected to different parts of the body. Also the body scan in the end that is offered for free was the little extra, and a bit fun to take.

I have been getting goosebumps and seeing these muscles, but if you have good English, you can take a look and learn more about your body structure. The souvenirs are a bit expensive. I didn't buy them. Some of them are still fun. Come and see if you have time.

Interesting made us spend 2 hours. Audio in French is recommended if you do not speak English. But a notion is recommended because everything is not explained in Audio. You have to read the language of Shakespeare

Nice experience with many interesting facts about the body. The layout of the floors high to low and starting at the brain was catchy. In the end the body scan was very informative. All in all a nice day there.

A controversial place. Especially the hall presenting the human development. Is it worth it In a way, yes. Although when one thinks that the exhibits are real parts of human corpses subjected to a plasticizing it is not a tour with a smile on his lips.

Really interesting exhibition of the human body.

Really interesting exhibition of the human body.
The exhibition is spread over 4 floors, covering different aspects of the body. Mind, blood, muscles, nerves, nutrition, dna etc.
Striking bodies showing just nerves or just blood vessels. The skeleton & how joints work was good too.

Notes, for the visitor: they can store luggage while you visit
Don't bother with the audio guide if you read English or Dutch.
Some interactive exhibits but mostly not.
More interesting for over 10 years I would guess (my youngest is 13)

Very nice explanation about the whole body. All details were explained with real bodies in 6 floors. You can measure your blood pressure. You can even view your own body from the inside. Super interesting. And with that piece of paper that you receive, you come in for nothing next time and you introduce 50%. Explanation body check was only in English. Spoken by their own staff. The Netherlands?

Really fantastic trip! 6 floors full of splendor! Really a lot of work if you consider that such a body is a year of work! And to mount it in the weirdest positions, really wow! Definitely recommended if you already have background medical knowledge! At the end you get a free measurement of all your body values, just like with the fitness, and you can always return for free for comparison!

About BODY WORLDS / Amsterdam EXPO

BODY WORLDS / Amsterdam EXPO: Discover the Secrets of the Human Body

BODY WORLDS / Amsterdam EXPO is a unique exhibition that offers visitors an opportunity to explore the human body in a way that has never been seen before. The exhibition features real anatomical models that have been preserved through a process called plastination, which allows visitors to see the inner workings of the human body up close and personal.

The exhibition was created by Dr. Gunther von Hagens, who developed plastination in 1977 while studying anatomy at Heidelberg University. Since then, he has used this technique to create more than 20 exhibitions around the world, attracting millions of visitors.

At BODY WORLDS / Amsterdam EXPO, visitors can expect to see more than 200 real anatomical specimens on display. These include full-body plastinates as well as individual organs and organ systems such as the nervous system and circulatory system.

One of the highlights of this exhibition is its focus on health education. Visitors can learn about various health issues such as obesity, smoking, and heart disease through interactive displays and multimedia presentations. The aim is to educate people about how their bodies work and how they can take care of themselves better.

Another unique aspect of BODY WORLDS / Amsterdam EXPO is its emphasis on ethics. All specimens used in this exhibition are from donors who have given their consent for their bodies to be used for educational purposes after death. This ensures that all exhibits are respectful towards human life and dignity.

The exhibition also offers guided tours led by experienced guides who provide detailed explanations about each exhibit's significance and relevance to human anatomy.

In addition to its educational value, BODY WORLDS / Amsterdam EXPO also provides an unforgettable experience for visitors looking for something different from traditional museums or galleries. The exhibits are visually stunning with intricate details that showcase just how amazing our bodies truly are.

Overall, BODY WORLDS / Amsterdam EXPO is a must-see attraction for anyone interested in science or health education or simply looking for an exciting day out with family or friends!
