Interesting and educational - you can find your way around immediately. We could offer the ticket price when buying online and thus paid less.
The exhibition is clear and does not get an oppressive touch when it comes to joy. Also suitable for children.

Super interesting and rewarding experience.

Super interesting and rewarding experience.
In addition, medical student, it was also a good way to "revise" my basics x)
Besides the "medical / scientific" side, the "psychological / mental" side was really interesting.
I loved this museum. An experience that I strongly recommend.
PS: count at least 2h-2h30 if you want to take full advantage of the museum (reading boards, videos, etc.)

Regrettably, it can start to feel a little repeated. But well worth the 17
Get your ticket from a tourist kiosk for 17 or pay 23 on the door. Considering the tourist kiosk is a few meters dow the road it a no brainer.

What an experience. Makes you appreciate humans and understand the body. It's not morbid nor a place sick twisted people go. It's very educational and certainly a must. Wish more places would do things like this. Well done and I hope to return in the near future as a tourist not a donation!

Over a number of floors not to far from the red light district no I do believe it moves from city to City and may no longer be there.
A peculiar and kind of creepy set of figures all originally human but now plasticised.
Multiple display cases showing internal organs, body parts and other fascinating pieces to do with anatomy.

Not for the faint stomached I feel but definitely worth a visit if in town.
Would love to see the animal one next.

It is worth a visit during your stay in Amsterdam. The ticket is not the cheapest (around 20 euros per person) but in my opinion it's worth it. Captions are written only in English but easy to understand.

Interesting exhibition. The anatomical models are made from real corpses based on the plastination preservation techniques invented by German pathologist Von Hagens. Von Hagens set up the Body Worlds exhibitions in several cities. The exhibition is done well and gives a good overview of the functioning of the organs, the blood circulatory system and the nervous system. However, I ll never leave my body to science!

If you are interested in the human body it is a great place to go, I went in under slight duress because my girlfriend wanted to see it. For me it doesn't have to be that interesting, but sometimes a bit over the top.

Fascinating and educational. I had a fantastic time learning about the human body. It's priced reasonably and takes about 2 hours to walk around if you want to read everything and listen to the audio tour.

A huge and very interesting show about the human body, for about 20 euros. Each floor, 6 in total, is dedicated to a specific "section" of the human body: bones, muscles, circulatory system, etc.

Wish I'd come to this place before Ripley's believe it or not. Because I only got a little time to spend here.
Nice human anatomy. Knowledgeable, not just for medico students but also for everyone, anyone. For a gymholic like me, it was an amazing experience (whatever time I spent there) knowing and learning the amazing way our body functions and muscles work. You'll get group activity inside here. Avg time spent here will be around 1-2 hours.

After a friendly welcome by the host (Arjen), I watched the exhibition. Very interesting and very nice to be able to view everything in this way. Despite the holiday it was not too busy. Highly recommended (And not scary )

Worth every penny, just a shame we were on a time limit, I could have spent much longer! Fantastic exhibition, tastefully presented, ideal for those curious about the inner workings of the human body. I hope to visit again with my children who I know will enjoy it just as much as I did.

Sometimes you do not realize what things do to your body, because of this exhibition some facts come hard. What makes this exhibition so interesting! You learn so much about your own body, it is so special to see what it looks like. It is a very special, inquisitive exhibition. I will definitely go back again!

I was not at all convinced to see this museum because I thought it was rather scabrous. However, entering and visiting the various areas of which it is composed, I was able to appreciate enormously the human "works" within it. It must surely excite, it intrigued me and certainly made me reflect and reason on how we are made and on the meaning that the author wanted to generate in the viewer: choice of the macabre or hymn to life? In your opinion ...

20 years ago I've seen body worlds in Cologne.
It is interesting even after all these years.

Amsterdam is not badly decorated and has interesting plastinates, but this happiness factor that stretches across the exhibition bothers me. I do not have to rock and laugh between plastinates. Therefore 1 star deduction.

Pretty good and informative. If you're into biology, this is the best place in Amsterdam for you. Its quite normal to feel a bit nauseous in the beginning, looking all those corpses but you'll get over it pretty fast.

It was the best anatomy class I ever had. It is a beautiful job to see and although they are real human bodies, one does not have a bad impression, quite the contrary, we left there more enchanted with the complexity of our bodies and the greatness of creation.

About BODY WORLDS / Amsterdam EXPO

BODY WORLDS / Amsterdam EXPO: Discover the Secrets of the Human Body

BODY WORLDS / Amsterdam EXPO is a unique exhibition that offers visitors an opportunity to explore the human body in a way that has never been seen before. The exhibition features real anatomical models that have been preserved through a process called plastination, which allows visitors to see the inner workings of the human body up close and personal.

The exhibition was created by Dr. Gunther von Hagens, who developed plastination in 1977 while studying anatomy at Heidelberg University. Since then, he has used this technique to create more than 20 exhibitions around the world, attracting millions of visitors.

At BODY WORLDS / Amsterdam EXPO, visitors can expect to see more than 200 real anatomical specimens on display. These include full-body plastinates as well as individual organs and organ systems such as the nervous system and circulatory system.

One of the highlights of this exhibition is its focus on health education. Visitors can learn about various health issues such as obesity, smoking, and heart disease through interactive displays and multimedia presentations. The aim is to educate people about how their bodies work and how they can take care of themselves better.

Another unique aspect of BODY WORLDS / Amsterdam EXPO is its emphasis on ethics. All specimens used in this exhibition are from donors who have given their consent for their bodies to be used for educational purposes after death. This ensures that all exhibits are respectful towards human life and dignity.

The exhibition also offers guided tours led by experienced guides who provide detailed explanations about each exhibit's significance and relevance to human anatomy.

In addition to its educational value, BODY WORLDS / Amsterdam EXPO also provides an unforgettable experience for visitors looking for something different from traditional museums or galleries. The exhibits are visually stunning with intricate details that showcase just how amazing our bodies truly are.

Overall, BODY WORLDS / Amsterdam EXPO is a must-see attraction for anyone interested in science or health education or simply looking for an exciting day out with family or friends!
