Though I ve been a loyal customer of both the BMW brand and BMW of San Francisco for years, I will never be coming back, and will ensure that none of my friends do as well. After returning my leased car in impeccable condition, 8K miles under the allotment, I was charged $600 for a new tire (even though the car only had 22K miles) and a 2 scratch presumably because I didn t get another BMW from them. I ve bought and leased many cars before and have never had this experience. They (AJ, the manager, and Jorge, who inspected the car) only gave me excuses even acknowledging that many other customers have also been unhappy with similar situations recently, which is awful customer service. Avoid this dealership at all costs.

I would give them zero stars if I could. I went to BMW SF a couple years back.

I was in the market for a BMW 3 series, and came to BMW SF with 2 of my friends to look at one of their demo specials. Immediately, I was sent to George Aprim, who led us into his office for further discussions.

Unfortunately, my experience with George was nothing less than abysmal. While I am an immigrant, George asked very pointed sensitive questions that were along the lines of 'Will you get thrown out of this country and not be able to pay the lease anymore"? He was extremely rude, disrespectful and truly discolored my entire buying experience with this dealership.

Now that I'm back in the market for a car, I will make sure to not visit BMW SF again and will advise all my friends likewise.

Worked with AJ for my new car purchase, and he was super helpful and honest. The process was a breeze, and professional. We got in and out quick! AJ is also still reachable through email for inquiries about the car after purchase, and this is a plus! Thanks BMW SF!

BMW San Francisco was great. I have just moved from Hawaii, and had seen their excellent inventory online. I was able to promptly test drive, and Kamal stuck with me the whole day. He even bought me dinner due to the long day, as always with paperwork and preparation for the sale! He has already checked in with me to ensure I'm happy with my purchase. I feel like I had made a friend. BMW staff was very friendly, and greeted me regardless of department. It was really nice to feel some Aloha so far from home.

Very bad service.

Very bad service.

Check Engine Light came on my 2012 BMW X5 35d with 68,000 miles. I scheduled an appointment and took my car to the BMW of San Francisco Service Department.

Service Advisor Henry Iglesious informed me that based on performed diagnostics Low pressure EGR valve needs to be replaced and it would cost me about $1,600. I asked why EGR valve (that is part of the emission) is not covered by California Emission Warranty (that is 7 years / 70,000 miles) and Henry said he would research and call me back. Henry called 15 minutes later and informed me that the technician made a mistake and "EGR valve controller" needs to be replaced. He also stated that the replacement of "EGR valve controller will not be covered by California Emission Warranty, and the cost of the repair would be $950. I declined the repair but Service Department Manager refused to release the car unless the $195 fee for diagnostics is paid.

I took the car to Fremont BMW Service and they diagnosed that Low pressure EGR valve needs to be replaced. Low pressure EGR valve" was replaced and the repairs were covered by California Emission Warranty.

Beware of returning a lease at BMW of San Francisco. I just returned a 3yr BMW X1 with only 15k miles. The lease inspector at BMW decided to charge $1,953 for minor paint scratches, none of which would measure above the threshold for normal wear and tear. Looks like someone is taking advantage of the covid-19 shutdowns to make a dime off folks returning leases without pre-inspections. This is my second car at BMW and my sixth lease. I've never experience such poor customer care. Next time I will remember to buy my BMW outside of town.

Quality: Good, because if you're rich and spend a lot of money, you'll most likely receive good quality at the least.

Appeal: Poor, because no one likes dealing with stuck-up arrogant staff, and staff who purposely try to rip customers off by giving false misleading information.

Service: Good, because you've paid dearly for it.

Verdict: Never going there again.

Need a purchase agreement in place before test drive on a car with a 33k list? Yeah, okay. The other dealers in the area aren't this arrogant. Repeat BMW customer, this is the worst I've felt leaving a BMW dealership.

Don t bother wasting your time attempting to call this place and purchase parts for your car or even speak to anyone on the phone in the parts department because no one answers the phone I tried calling for a half an hour, I called seven different times and no one picked up the phone. It s honestly the most pathetic customer service experience I ve ever had and having worked in a retail parts department before it was always a top priority to answer the phone. I m half tempted to drive over there just to see if they need anyone to run their service department because I m currently unemployed due to the pandemic. But honestly this is utterly pathetic and I just don t understand why in the course of a half an hour no one is capable of answering the phone and answering a simple question about one part. Waste of time. Poorly run business.

I was contacted by BMW to schedule my car for service due to a recall on a part. Although my 335 is my only means of transportation, I left it there with the promise it would be returned the same day so I can get to work. I was told that it would be ready at 4pm which was the time I needed to be at work. The advisor understood and took it upon himself to have my car ready an hour before I needed to report for work. He didn't need to do that but it shows the professionalism and the attention you get at BMW of SF. My thanks to all the staff at the dealership

Was a little skeptical about visiting BMWSF after ...

Was a little skeptical about visiting BMWSF after reading so many bad reviews about the place. I made an appointment for the Sunday after Valentine's day with Ira Idell. We had exchanged a few e-mails on the Friday beforehand. Had already picked the car I was interested in, a 2014 335. Ira had given me a lease estimate and answered my concerns and questions in a timely manner. We arrived 30 minutes early, luckily Ira was free.

The car is for my wife, I wanted her to test drive an X3 and a 335 back to back. Ira was extremely patient and very accommodating throughout the test drives. After the X3 she drove the 335, probably a 15 minute drive in both. She made a few wrong turns and mounted the kerb once and Ira didn't get the least bit annoyed. Instead he kept profusely apologizing at having to take so many calls.

I had brought in our 2012 Honda Odyssey Touring Elite with 9k miles, hoping to trade it in. Ira was straight with me, and said they wouldn t be able to give me a fair price as most likely it would be sent to auction. Appreciated him being upfront as we didn't have to waste any time with an appraiser.

Wife and 11 year old son were happy with the 335, time to start the paperwork. We were at the dealership for probably 4 hours altogether. They were pretty busy. Ira kept checking in with us and gave us constant updates, while we were waiting for Serge in finance to finish up with others in line. Serge explained the different warranties available but didn t try to overly push any on us. Wrapped up the paperwork in around 15 minutes. My son always gets bored at dealerships, but he dug all the BMW's they had on display inside, especially the i8 which Ira kindly let us sit in.

With all the paperwork done, we met with the genius guy (I think his name was Doug) who went over the Car electronics, and after that it was on our way home to the South Bay with our very first BMW. It really is the "ultimate driving machine", especially when you put it in Sport Mode. Good job BMW, Ira, Serge, and Doug. Two thumbs up for you all. Highly recommend talking to Ira if you plan on visiting BMWSF, he made sure we had a pleasant experience, and geniunely seemed to care about us. He is probably the nicest car salesman I have met in 20+ years.

One of the worst customer service. I went to service my car in 2015. They broke the OBD port then. I stopped going there owing to this reason. 3 years later - I wanted to give another try. I went in 2018. They broke the OBD port again. The worst thing is that I wasted my time arguing with the service manager. One of the reasons I do not go to this BMW is because of this reason.
The service manager was about to give me a call on Friday of that week when I went for servicing my car after he agreed to replace the part which was broken. But the service manager never gave me a call.

Thus , be careful , if you go to this BMW to service your car.

We visited BMW of SF purely for researching the price of leasing a replacement vehicle at the end of our current lease (Dec 2012). The sales agent, Mico Silver, was extremely helpful, knowledgeable and low-key sales pressure. He suggested that we didn't need to wait until the end of the lease, they could buy the car out of the current lease and put us into a new vehicle today. Surprised this was an option and even more surprised that they had a vehicle in stock that would work as a replacement - we ended up purchasing the new vehicle and completing the papework in finance in less than 20 minutes. It was an all around educating, surprising and fun experience.

I went to test drive a preowned BMW. They took more than an hour to arrange the test vehicle post the appointment time. This was a sheer disappointment. However, the appointment was made with an hour's notice so may be I can cut some slack there.
Apart that, I don't have much to complain about the dealership and Chris. The price was reasonable enough. I ended up buying the vehicle. They helped me through the entire process. However, please keep aside a LOT of time if you want to work with them.

Not everyone was friendly, particularly a Mr. Elton was very hesitant on assisting me , perhaps he didn't think that I was going to be a serious buyer.

However, as fate would have it, I accidentally set off the car alarm and a Mr. Dinu Cotoros, came to the assistance and really went the extra mile to assist me in showing me, and allowing me to drive the showroom model of the m235i. He stayed late on a Saturday, made sure I knew everything about the car I was going to buy. I was happy to give him my business.

Worst Dealer EVER- Buyers beware! For 20 days I was told by the Kevin Wu and John Meier they were interested in my business and they would not loose a deal to price. I just needed to wait till the car to come in. Only to inform me after the car arrived (which I had to track them down) that they would not accept my competitive bid (a bid I provided them 9 days ago). Not only did they string me along for 20 days, but I had to initiate almost every conversation with them not returning my calls for days even when they said they would and having over 37 emails asking them status. In fact, I have an email stating a price and to find out once the car arrived, they would not honor that price any longer. Under good faith I kept with them till the car came in thinking they would work with me and honor their commitment, but boy was I wrong. Very disappointing on so many levels!!!! There are so many other good, reliable, trustworthy dealers out there, I would go to them! If I could rate them, it would be minus 10!

He was so helpful showing me different cars and options. He is so honest and knows his cars. It took me sometime to decide since there are so many cars to choose from but he was so patient with me. He even help me with buying performance part after i bought my car. He's assistant Edward was also so helpful during the process. These guys are great !!! customer satisfaction is amazing. I bought a used car 5 days before Christmas from t...

I bought a used car 5 days before Christmas from this dealership. I know the car was sold as is with no warranty, and part of it was my fault to have the car not inspected before buying it, but I thought I was dealing with redouble dealership. So I trusted them. After few days I noticed the car wasn't running normal. Since it was during holidays I didn't have time to take it to the mechanics and, After I took it to two different mechanics they confirmed my worries that the car has a transmission problems. And the problem was there before I bought the car. I called them right away after but they said it wasn't their problem anymore. That was only 3 weeks after I bought the car. Here is the kicker the person I talked to told me that if I would have called them 2 weeks after they might have been able do something. Not sure how one week would make a big difference. I really feel like they knew about the problem but they did not tell me and I really feel like I was defrauded by them.. Thanks for ruining my Christmas. . I wish I would have read the reviews on this dealership before I went there. Seems like I'm not the only one that got burned by these people I know I don't have a lot of options but I do know I have some options. First thing I will report them to the BBB then I'll go from there

Do yourself a favor stay away from this dealership. I know most dealerships are dishonest but this one takes to the whole new level

read the reviews especially on yelp and you will see for yourself

This a response to your apology general manager

Trust me just an apology doesn't make things right and seems like that s only thing you do on here as general manager. Now I have to spend 3000 dollars to fix a transmission that already had problem before I bought it. I gave you guys every chance to fix the issue but only thing you guys do is just apologize. I was told that sales person talked to you about this and you said that wasn t your problem anymore. I do hope people ready teste reviews and understand who they are dealing with. So no I don t accept your apology they do say what goes around comes around. Like I said I already connected BBB and filed a complained with them. Thank you again for defrauding me

Talk about shady! Got six different prices for a replacement key to my BMW and wound up being over-charged for what ultimately was only a valet key. Three weeks in and still don't have a key to my trunk. No sense of continuity.
Update: The minimalist option was the response to a months worth of questions, hassle, run around. They gave me the janky plastic emergency key that hides inside an actual remote keyless fob. Talk about doing the absolute minimum to get the job done. The guys that I dealt with were all polite and helpful, in person, but never did get anything accomplished by calling- never an answered phone. Got to be in the dealership to get results. And why guys, does it take three days to order a key when a mobile locksmith can do it on the side of the road?
I once bought a new BMW from this dealership, and remember good service, now my older issues don't seem to be of much concern. Glad l got some kind of key, but got the least key for the most hassle in the end.

Great Service. I was here for my first service and he offered me a loner car if I don't want to wait. But I waited instead as there was less rush and my car was done in max 2 hrs. They changed oil and did full inspection, did car wash and vacuum too. The lounge is pretty good, you can read magazines, books and if you have Kindle (that would be good). Good coffee.

I came in because I got a flat tire on my recently purchased certified preowned car from this location. When I came in they told me I had services due at 30,000 miles that I needed to pay for despite recently buying the car with 31,000 miles on it. Its pretty upsetting that they didn't service the car properly when they sold it to me and they are now trying to charge me more.

I have bought a car here and had two BMWs maintain...

I have bought a car here and had two BMWs maintained by this dealership. I think my last experience with them a couple of weeks back perfectly sums up this business. I booked one of my cars in for a routine maintenance and asked to have the brakes checked as they were making a lot of noise for what seemed like no reason. What should have been done and what was actually done were two very different things I'll explain how I know further down. The car should have gone through what's know as Inspection 1. Not to bore you but there is a laundry list of things to check. The car is 5 years old and has 27k miles and has an extended maintenance package. Basically it is a mandatory check top make sure nothing is in disrepair or falling apart. So that's what should have been done as per the manufacturers guidelines. So I showed up and dropped my car off. It took them an hour to see me. An hour to drop a car off for a service. The kicker was it took 45 minutes to pick it up.

Now onto what was done. I imagine they drained and changed the oil and if I am lucky they changed the filter. I say this with unsteady confidence. I know they didn't do any of the Inspection 1, my main indication is that after picking up the car I had a warning light telling me my washer fluid was low. They didn't even check my fluids. When picking up the car they said they didn't even tough the breaks and that they would happily clean them but that they would charge me for the service, $200.

I called back to complain about the break issue and talked to Joe. He said "Nothing I can do about it on a Saturday, I only have a skeleton crew. I will escalate this with the service manager and he will contact you on Monday" That was a week ago, and not a peep from them. I'm not holding my breath and neither should you to go to this dealership.

TL:DR Bought a car here, had two cars serviced here. Take my advice and avoid this dealership for sales or service. Peter Pan BMW is much better on the peninsula and East Bay BMW for over there.

You can call me all you want, I gave you the opportunity to resolve the issue you choose to ignore it...

NOT ONCE BUT TWICE!!!!!

NOT ONCE BUT TWICE!!!!!

BMW of San Francisco has scratched my car twice. First time I came in for an oil change and when I picked it up there was a scrape on my front left passenger side bumper. Didn't seem like a big deal because it seem to not have damaged the paint. But after going home to wash it off there is a straight 4 inch black line that is not removable by soap and water. It's not very noticeable so I assume a clay bar would need to be used to clean it off, but even so if the black mark is removed there is a slight indentation. But I took my BMW to get serviced again and this time it came back with 3 scrapes on the driver side bumper this time and a lot of I assume shoe print marks (maybe 10+) which again I rubbed each and every one of them and they didn't seem to have damaged the paint, just dirty. I go home to use a wet cloth to rub it clean. But it was HARD!!!! For some reason the bumper near the grill and headlight was sticky and hard to rub it with water. Then I noticed it, a huge scatch next to my headlights, like the size of my pinky. And the indentation is a lot deeper than the first scratch. This one actually has a dip you can actually see. I'll post a photo later but I just wished I took a photo before I cleaned the shoe marks off. I don't know why they would even need to step on my car?

I won't be going back to them for any service. And the next time I have someone work on my car I'm going to have to tell them about how BMW of San Francisco scratched my car twice and insist that they make every note that there is no scratches or scrapes anywhere when I left my car with them....

I had a terrible experience dealing with Scott Collins. We were working on a deal and he had to attend to a personal issue. Given the emergency, I extended him the courtesy to take care of his personal issue first and we can resume finalizing the deal once he is back in the office. Two days later, when I reached out to him to finalize the deal, he informed me that the car has been sold. They should have had the decency to hold the car till either a deal went through or fell-through. It seems to be a fish-market where multiple agents are selling the same cars just to see who sells it first.

Phew, this place is struggling. Went in to pick up...

Phew, this place is struggling. Went in to pick up our 328i after an oil change this morning. A little backdrop: I'm a therapist in private practice, so being timely for my clients is critical to their wellbeing as well as my business. I figured I'd be in and out of BMW SF within 10 minutes, but I give myself 30 minutes just to be safe and ensure a timely arrival for my first client.

I pull in and a short check in gentleman for BMW tells me to talk to any of the service people on my way inside. So I let a lanky blonde service guy know that I'm here to pick up a car and he tells me they will check the car in and come find me in the lounge. I'm a little worried already that something's going to fall through the cracks, but I decide to trust them and not be that entitled guy about my time. Time anxiety sets in and I have a seat.

Thirty minutes go by. Service people and sales people are milling about or staring blankly at computer screens. I'm realizing at this point that I need to either pick up my car immediately or try to catch a ride share in order to arrive punctually for clients. So, I let a harried Asian guy near the coffee machine know, and he tells me he'll be with me soon. A few minutes later he has me sign a piece of paper then to continue waiting. A full 45 minutes after I walk into the joint to pick up our car after an oil change, I'm handed the keys so I can at long last leave.

And unfortunately I arrive late to see my first client. Oh my. I could have gone through Jiffy Lube in 25 minutes I think to myself. Instead I just spent 10 minutes on 2 different calls to schedule an oil change, 40 minutes of extra driving and 20 minutes of waiting to drop off the car, 40 extra minutes of driving and 45 minutes of waiting to pick up the car. Two hours and 35 minutes. I suddenly realize I'm not entitled for trying to be timely, just an idiot for using the BMW San Francisco service department.

I went to BMW of SF on 12/6/14 to purchase either a new or CPO car. Having driven only BMW's for last 7+ years, I wanted to get another one. We had recently moved to SF from NYC and this was the closest BMW dealership. Upon getting there, I talked to one salesman from CPO department who said he was busy helping another customer and asked me to look around and see if I like something. After 30-45 minutes he came and then helped me out picking out a car I liked, 2013 BMW 535i with the M Sport package. This guy seemed like a nice guy and I told him I am interested in buying this car and would like to trade in my BMW X3 and do all the paperwork. He took me to the new car showroom upstairs and handed me over to this sales guy called "Cass Hyatt" and said he will take care of you. Cass Hyatt didn't even greet me or anything. He looks at me and says "Oh so you must be in IT or something and you know about pricing and strategy etc. better than us. I can tell you there will be no margin to negotiate here. I am busy and I don't want to spend 5 hours going back and forth on pricing. I don't care if you don't buy this car or not as I have been with this dealership for a long time". I was shocked at his rudeness as I hadn't even mentioned a word until now. I just told him politely I am ok with the price of the 535i and would like to trade in my X3. Then he starts downplaying my car and says oh its got 100k miles and no dealership will give u more than 6k on this car. I told him lets get the car appraised and see how much its worth as I am interested in buying the 535i immediately. So he looks at me, says OK and then leaves the desk. After waiting around for 15 minutes, my previous car salesman comes to me and says "Oh can you please come another day, we are really busy right now". I told him that I have been waiting at the dealership for more than 2 hours and now you ask me to come another day??? This is not how you treat a customer. I don't have time to come another day and wait around like this. He said everyone is really busy, thats y. I told him that this guy "Cass Hyatt" was a complete jerk and I do not want to deal with him. I really wanted to bring this poor service up to the manager of the showroom but I was with my 2 year old and he was getting really cranky by this time. I went downstairs but had to come upstairs again to get something and I noticed this "Cass Hyatt" guy was already showing some other customer a new car. WOW !!!! Talk about customer service. I have been to several BMW dealerships in the east coast and a few in the bay area and this is the first time I am experiencing such rudeness from a car sales guy.

I am still interested in getting the 535i but this whole experience is preventing me from ever going to this dealership again for purchasing or even servicing my current BMW. I hope some manager reads this review and tells this guy "Cass Hyatt" that this is not a KIA or Hyundai dealership. Customers who come to buy a BMW are busy themselves and this is not the right way to treat anyone !!!

Get here for service, after things get done, spent 20 minutes waiting for my car, reach out to worker there again, after 5 min, they gave me my key, told me car is outside, I walk around the building and finally found my car is parked outside of the building, almost on the street unwashed........ everything is help yourself except the time they charge you, what a good service I received

I just had the BEST car buying experience of my life. I had done my research on the web for months. Finally found the car I wanted. Emailed the fleet/internet salesman who turned me over to Jason Griffin. This fella is superior in service, professionalism and just a damned nice guy. I broke my ankle and was unable to drive myself in. To get the deal done (after some fair negotiating) he sent Carlos Moralejo all the way to Marin to pick me up, do the deal and drive me back in my new Mini Countryman S All4. Love my new car, love BMW Mini SF. Clearly Jason is running things right.

I recently stopped in to test drive a BMW Z4, it was a pleasant experience from the moment that I walked in. I ended up going back a day later to purchase the vehicle. The process was well paced and not rushed, and I also felt well informed.

The cap wasn't screwed tightly on a bottle in a grocery bag placed in the trunk. It was unfortunately placed in the corner on top of the battery compartment. The bottle tipped over, and the content spilled down into the battery. As a result it killed the battery and some components associated with it. The car was completely dead to the point the steering was locked at an angle (so it couldn't be towed with a flatbed).

I usually don't take it to BMW, since it's pretty well known how much they charge for maintenance and repairs, and this was my biggest concern. Because of the nature of the problem, this seemed the best option.

We had it towed Monday morning. On Tuesday, I got a call with an estimate, but no guarantee that was all that would be needed. It needed a new battery, battery cable, and a couple other parts. I didn't hear anything on Wednesday. On Thursday morning I received a text that the car was ready, and had it back home within an hour.

Overall, I was pretty satisfied with the process. I wasn't in a rush to have the car back since I have a second car. I didn't need to accompany it on the tow, so the experience was convenient. I feel like they were responsive and straightforward.

It wasn't cheap, but cost about what I expected / hoped. For BMW, I feel like it was reasonable. The parts are warranted for 24 months, I believe. Also, everything seems to work fine. I might actually consider bringing my car there for the next regular service.

tl;dr: Beware of BMW of SF. Even if you buy a CPO car, have it inspected by a third party. Make sure you get both plates. If you don't, you may end up with a big bill for repairs and fees/tickets like me.

I bought a Certified Pre-Owned 2015 BMW 328i a short while ago. I found the car through the official BMW site and checked that it was still available. I got a prompt email response and set up a test drive.

After the test drive, we went to do paperwork. I had a financing offer, but the dealership was able to find me an even lower rate nice. By the time I was done with all the paperwork, it was already dark. They had washed and cleaned out the car, and I got a walkthrough of the electronics and was on my way home. So far so good.

The next day, the sun was shining and hit the windshield straight on. Now that the car was clean, I realized that much of what I thought was street dust turned out to be a severely chipped/sandblasted hood and windshield.

The condition of the windshield is very distracting, so I probably need to get it replaced (around $2,000). The only way to get the front of the car looking nice is a repaint (another $2,000).

The car only had a rear license plate attached, and after looking through the car, I realized that it only came with one license plate. I had to go to the DMV to get a second plate to drive my new BMW legally.

The car also had faulty electronics: front 9V socket didn't work, although they did fix that. CPO inspections seem very superficial.

Mixed somewhat. ON the plus side, I got an appointment within 24 hours of my call. In the past, I have been offered an appointment only after a month of waiting. Just not possible when your car is flashing a warning light. I hope that my recent experience will be there in the future. Also, car was done on time and washed. Great. On the negative side, the estimate for changing brake fluid was 210 but the final bill was over over 280. I was told that the estimate did not account for the larger brakes of an M6. Well, ok, but don t the intake people know that?
