Blue Water Cafe Review

Love this place! It s dangerous that it s so close to home...I wish I could go every night. Always consistently delicious, and my partner and I s favourite restaurant in Vancouver.

The seafood here is amazing and very fresh. We ordered a seafood tower to share for the table and it was very delicious. The price is a big on the higher side but this is considered a fine dining restaurant. We loved the ambience but the service was a bit hit and miss. They kept saying they'll bring us bread but we never got it in the end. It does get busy even on a week night, so reservations are recommended!

Stellar! Amazing seafood! I had the halibut and it was melt in my mouth delicious. The service is on point and the atmosphere is awesome. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Vancouver!

This place was worth the hype and worth the price. The ambience is pleasant, the staff are knowledgeable and attentive, and the Chef makes these meals with a true love for seafood. The fact that the seafood is sustainable and local really brings it all to the next level. Go here...you won t regret it.

This place is great. The washrooms are great and you even get to see the chefs cook your meal. Plus there are heaters outside. :) I personaly rate it six stars but five is still good.

Easily the top 5 restaurant in Vancouver!! Oysters are fresh and tasty, Shushi and sashimi are nicely done by the Shushi chef, drinks are made by handsome young bar tender while you get to be lead to your table/bar seat by pretty young ladies!!

I was dining at the sushi bar so could watch the cook preparing sashimi and sushi. They do not use sauce but instead, they add leaf or special garlic or some other kind of accessories to the food. Great place. It was an amazement of watching them cutting raw fish. At the end, the waitress gave me two mini dessert for free. and they are just about the right sweetness.

Top-notch seafood in Yaletown. The Miso Sablefish is extraordinary, and the sashimi and sushi is on par with anything you'd find at a bonafide Japanese place. This is a very large restaurant, and a good place to take a large party (with lots of looneys and a reservation).

I've had friends give me mixed reviews, but personally, having visited for drinks and appetizers a few times, I would definitely recommend. Their staff have been friendly, drinks and apps, excellent.

We celebrated birthday last night. The service was great and patient. The tsunami was amazing but very disspoint for other food that we ordered. It was salty and greasy. Overpriced. There are other good restaurants better than this one.

For those days when you have just too much cash in your wallet, Blue Water Cafe is a great place to lighten your load. Food is exquisite. Wine list is deep. Service is just short of white glove. Menu is centred on seafood with fine dining execution. Treat yourself. Even if only once in a while.

Some of the freshest seafood I've ever had. The seafood tower is majestic. I recommend the sablefish--melts in your mouth.

If you want fresh seafood in fine dining style, @bluewatercafe is the place to go. Small selection of fresh local oysters which were refreshing and when paired with white wine on a patio kind of day, it s perfect. They were generous with free starters (freshly baked buns and interesting handmade carrot puree spread and cream cheese). Their wild mushroom soup was amazing as was the wagyu beef meatballs. For dinner, lamb medium well and fresh scallop sushi. Very enjoyable fine dining experience - all nicely plated. Polished service as well. During COVID, dine in and enjoy the ambiance responsibly with others. Support your local businesses.

My colleagues at work recommended this place and I absolutely loved it. Got the special sushi of the day as starter and sablefish for main. Both delicious. Atmosphere is cool and staff very kind.

Service and alcohol menu were excellent. Food and espresso drinks were just okay. 3.5 stars if I could.

Went with a large group of family and friends. We enjoyed ourselves, but there was nothing particularly impressive about the restaurant. The consensus was that the food and service were okay. We had higher expectations based on reviews of the website and they were not met.

It might be the "best seafood restaurant" in Vancouver, but we'll be going somewhere else next time.

The private dinning room was amazing, the staff were extremely professional. Everything from the starter to the entree was delicious. They really took care of everyone!

Went here to celebrate three birthdays (on different days but family from out of country was here). I was a little worried as nothing on their menu was labeled GF for being Gluten Free, but our awesome waitress assured me that *almost* everything could be tailored for me which is GREAT, eating out is hard enough as is for me so I felt very welcomed here. And for once I could have GF cheesecake!

The food here was absolutely amazing. I got the sablefish as my main course and it was the best thing I'd ever eaten. Service is also amazing, and the atmosphere is pleasant as well.

What an amazing fine dining experience. My server Melissa has a one way ticket to heaven. She was the best server I ve ever had. She deserves a raise. She explained every dish so thoroughly and was very nice and always had a smile on her face. Thank you Melissa!

We had an extraordinary dinner last night! Our server Jennifer was very helpful, friendly and made some excellent suggestions. We enjoyed the seafood sampler which was outstanding. Then enjoyed the Artic Char and the Halibut feature. So fresh and such incredible flavours. We highly recommend this restaurant and will go back !

I love the ambience of this place! Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and the dishes were impeccable. I recommend this as a MUST visit for any sea food fan who comes to Vancouver.

Best service of any restaurant in Vancouver. Food is delicious, but it's really only seafood. If you're not a seafood person you'll struggle to find something you like here.

Best long bar in the city. LOTS of fun always. Few rounders present. Great food, drinks, and service.

the appetizer scallops was not to my liking. sablefish and short rib melt in your mouth. And an awesome warm dark chocolate cake to end my meal. The service was absolutely amazing!

This might just be my favorite restaurant I've ever been to. Went with my kids (aged 12 & 14) and we were all blown away by the extremely high quality of very part of our meal. The cocktail I had was sinfully divine, I may never be able to eat another crab salad after savoring every morsel of my appetizer. The entire menu is filled with so many sensational choices. The staff could not have been more attentive even if their lived depended on it.
The decore is urban chic and the food is simply to die for.
Will eat hear EVERY time I'm in Vancouver!

Amazing food and location! The steamed atlantic lobster was as good as in Nova Scotia and incredibly delicious. The sablefish steak was the best fish I've ever eaten. Our server was wonderful, friendly and attentive. The drinks were amazing and beautiful as well.

Fantastic experience, one of the few places I've done that gets "fusion" right--they have sushi and western seafood dishes but keep them separated, the sushi is good sushi and it's mostly traditional as are the western dishes. Wine list is very good, our server was fantastic. Place was jumping as you would expect for offering such a good experience

The second visit was delicious or delicious, especially dessert, with its own characteristics! Sashimi is still better in Taiwan or Japan

Great service, excellent sushi, waitress was extremely cheerful and enthusiastic. Great attitude and very attentive. Had to send back my Sable fish, no questions asked, no hassles, was replaced immediately. Experience is what I expected.

Bluewater is on the pricey side but their food and cocktails are some of the best in Vancouver. Order the Toro Belly. They have one of the biggest wine selections in the city. Bottles range from $60 to $5000+.

Great meals and we always enjoy the seafood towers, sable fish and crab cakes. Service is prompt and attentive.
