Couldn t recommend highly enough.

Couldn t recommend highly enough.
I dreaded the day my daughter went into childcare, but the ladies in the baby room were so wonderful, patient, understanding and comforting. The transition went better than I could have ever imagined.
Blue skies is more of a home setting and much more comfortable than the typical government run centres. The staff are always so happy, helpful and really do treat us like family. I love childcare days because I know my daughter has a ball, gets well fed with delicious home made food and is safe creating memories with some really lovely people and her first friends.
The centre is away from main roads, has animals, plenty of equipment and toys, it s always clean, they go on excursions to the play cafe or park up the road, lots of outdoor play... very happy here.

Would not recommend to anyone that cares about their child. My son is 7 and 1/2 months old and has attended Blue Skies childcare for the last few months - his last day is on Friday. I have had to ask multiple times for poo not to be left on my sons skin, today to which I was told that there were 16 other children, almost like it were a valid reason for them to not clean him properly because they are busy. Sometimes my son goes through 2-3 sets of clothes in a day because he has wet through or soiled himself. I stated that it very rarely happens at home and could they check him more regularly but not much happened. They claim he has "wee explosions" - which I have deduced is a lazy term for "we dont check him unless it's the set time for nappy changes". My son also had an allergic reaction to something he ate on Monday and they weren't even sure exactly what was put in his food - apparently the cook "couldn't remember" whether they had 3 different types of vegetables or 2 - very helpful when trying to identify what set my son off seeing as he was covered in hives. You really think it would be the sort of things you should keep track of and be able to give an answer that you are 100% on. Not to mention the time that a sick child was lying in the middle of the room and my son, who already at this point has a compromised immune system due to bronchiolitis from months ago, was sitting within touching and coughing distance of the ill child, the staff member who was holding him was tending to the sick child without washing her hands and even after I picked my son up from her, I watched her cuddle the ill child, and then come back up to me and touch my sons face. The discussion I had with the director was almost as painful. After explaining this incident she told me I had "identified a gap in the guidelines" and that the staff member had actually done the right thing because there was nothing stating that she shouldn't. Probably because they don't expect people to be so careless and stupid. Common sense is a gift not all are blessed with, so I have found out. Even so, I pointed out that if I were at a hospital I wouldn't touch a sick person and touch a baby so why would she? The director then tried to shift the subject onto the fact that they had EXCELLENT ratings for their bonds with children. That's not for hygiene though now is it? Do yourself a favour and don't even give this place a second thought.

Whilst being very nervous about my son starting childcare, I found Blue Skies online as it is close to my home. I showed up to the centre without calling prior and all the staff were so lovely, and more than happy to show me though. Instantly I felt relieved and like Id found the perfect place to care for my son. In the weeks leading up to him starting I popped in many times and each and every time we were welcomed in with open arms. Now 4 weeks after attending for 4days a week my son is so happy there and settled in fantastically. I feel like were a part of the little Blue Skies family. Definitely recommend to anyone who feels uneasy about putting their baby in care, the staff are just wonderful.

Between two children I have known the staff at Blue Skies for 6 years now from the baby room through to the kindy room and highly recommend them. I know a lot of other families that use Blue Skies and they are very happy with the services too. The staff are friendly, genuine and the kids love spending time with them.
