Absolute worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. They refuse to cover meds that people have been on for years and instead want them to take things that have already proven to be dangerous to children. PLEASE do not get BCBS MS if there is any other option. They are often cheapest but their service and benefits are also the worst.
I hated to even give them 1 star!!! Their automated service just goes in circles, rerouting you back to the beginning..
I have literally been trying to reach a live person for over 2 hours! I've tried all of their toll free numbers and the 601 phone numbers they have posted online. This is one of the worse customer service companies that I have EVER seen! Especially when this is a company that claims to be concerned about their community!
Whoever is running their customer service center needs to be fired! Post a phone number where a client can SPEAK to someone. We DO NOT want to listen to a rolling message about how much you care about our health!
Waited for hours l, no one would pick up and talk. It's very frustrating. If they cared about their members, getting help and info would be much easier.
It would be worth more to run from both BCBS. As a healthy middle aged women WITH CHILDREN I pretty much pay full price for regular doctors. THEN TO CALL THE call line to get a person who doesn t care about your issue or have suggestions. Just a dry attitude. State of MS find another company please.
Pretty pitiful if you work for a Mississippi company but live out of state. Part of that may be the issue with how providers tend to code for BCBS in my state as opposed to Mississippi, but it s ridiculous how I have the large out of pocket costs that I do. We even pay hundreds in out of pocket costs for each of our annual checkups every year, which is supposed to be fully covered. The response from then is always the same, some discrepancy with billing codes from my in-state provider. Neither budges and I m stuck with the bill.
I have blue cross through my employer an I was in desperate need of a procedure an I was told I would be better off just paying for it straight out because of a deductible thats over 5000 dollars I mean I dont know why I have insurance if it dont pay for anything im dropping blue cross it cost to much a Month anyways
I would give ZERO stars if possible, I guess we can say the one star is for how good they are when it comes to no cost of wellness checkups for the kids (still giving them too much credit). My daughter needed a procedure done and they didn't cover it. I had NO issues them denying my daughters procedure. I had issues with the people who work there NOT knowing what the hell they are talking about. I spoke to 5 maybe 6 different people about the issue and was always told something different. ...fast forward keep in mind my daughter got her procedure denied ($1500) . However I can't get a denial letter from them for 7-10 business days. YET I was told many times that it wouldn't be covered. So you know that it will be denied? yet I can't get even a letter stating why it was denied (I found a company that would help pay for the cost) NOW since they refused to give me the letter I no longer can get the $1500 help. If you are a company and shopping for insurance for your employees or you are an individual looking to buy insurance PLEASE look elsewhere. Their customer service is horrible and you'll get a different story EVERY SINGLE TIME you talk to one of them. A worthless insurance company.

I'm pretty sure all insurance carriers look for ways to not pay excessive rates! Everyone should understand that fact. When a person needs a particular drug it's not our fault that it's expensive.... Expensive prescriptions should not automatically mean that its not covered. unfair!!!! My premium is also expensive, should I not pay it?
