I have finally find the best hair salon in Sydney. I love my new hair colour done by Shinroku. And you get a very nice head message while they washes your hair. It is the best experience I have ever had for a hair salon in Sydney. Highly recommended.

I have been to Blu Creativity for more than 10 years, owner, Hisa Goto, has cut, coloured and styled my hair - from red to brunette to blonde! I have difficult hair - thin and curly with a mind of its own and Hisa has always managed to be creative with style and colour to make it look fabulous. I have also recommended Hisa to many of my friends all of whom have become loyal customers over the years. I have read some of the negative reviews and can't reconcile their experiences with mine - they should be ignored. Blu Creativity is great value for money and always accommodates my needs - especially free wi-fi so I can work while Hisa does his magic!

I had a wonderful first hair cut experience with Blu Creativity last Sunday. Based on many recommendations, I chose to have a hair cut with Nami. I showed her the pictures of the hair style that I want and she could read my mind with specific descriptions. I highly appreciate this salon because they respond very well with my Asian aesthetics.
So if you want a Japanese hair style, I would certainly recommend this salon not only for their excellent result but also for their service quality.

I have been coming here for over a year and every time my hair cut gets better. This time was no exception with the lovely Nami my usual hairdresser! The salon is beautifully designed - all staff are lovely, professional and highly experienced. I'm so glad I found this place!

Wow. Can t believe last experience. Have been going to this place for years. So just that hairdresser having bad day you get bad haircut. On a good day you get good haircut. My hair was in chunks. It was such a mess and embarrasssment I ve had to go to bathroom to cut off these chunks myself. I ve considered going elsewhere for a while since the particular hairdresser sometimes has such attitude. This one is the last straw. Can t believe loyal customers are treated like this.

The best hair salon I've ever encountered for hair straightening. The main stylist Hisa Goto is a perfectionist and genius - he takes hair straightening as seriously as Giro takes sushi! The salon has a very calm atmosphere with lots of plants and open spaces, and their business hours suited me perfectly. Every staff member is highly experienced and has been recruited carefully from Japan. I wouldn't bother going anywhere else for straightening because the results were superb. Very positive experience.

TOMOKA is amazing! Listens, paid attention to every little detail of my hair cut and colour. I actually live in London and desperately needed a cut and balayage while over here before a wedding...so I was nervous to say the least trusting someone I had never met before BUT wow wow wow she surpassed my expectations!! Such a lovely person too. I recommend her 100 times over! I m going to have to book her the next time I fly back to Sydney! She is a real asset in a business where the director is too busy to be humble or converse with customers. I need a TOMOKA in London!!!

Chika is an awesome hair artist, his honesty opinion on my hair conditions and what sort of products I should use and tips on how I look after my hair.

I've been trying to grow my hair for 2 years , wanting a natural wavy with some colours and highlights.

One of the biggest Korean hairdresser refused to perm my hair, she told me to wait for another 2 years. I explained this to Chika, he told me confidently it can be done. Although, a bit pricy, but I got what I want. Thanks again

I had chemical straightening done with kota. Kota did a great job and was very friendly. The price was reasonable as well. I will definitely be back!

Made a booking two weeks in advance online. Recieved an immediate confirmation which I thought meant everything was ok, however the day before my appointment I go to check my booking but it was apparently cancelled literally the day after I booked, the email went to my junk folder which I only just saw. I get one weekday off a month so this ruined my plans and no other salon in Sydney has availability on short notice. Due to this I don't ever plan on coming here. In future, please call people if you cannot honour their booking. My phone number was on the booking so its not like this was impossible. You need to be very careful when booking this place and check your booking constantly to make sure they don't cancel it before you come in.

I love this salon. They have great hair stylists who pay close attention to what you want and also suggests ideas for you to chose from. I really loved the styles!

I was very disappointed by the work & service provided when I came in on 23 December 2017. I paid over $220 (this is after the 10% discount after referring friends), where Nami promised the treatment will last 6 months to 1 year. My hair was already curling within 3 weeks!

Nami spent less than an hour on my hair when I went to get it fixed and did a terrible job - when I went back to tell her (after going to the bathroom at the Blu Creativity premises) she said she couldn t do anything. I still need to use my hair straightener on a daily basis which defeats the purpose of the treatment. Nami was also extremely rude to me and said to take my bags with me and I don t need to come back.

The owner also does not respond to your emails unless you write on social media.

I will not be returning to Blu Creativity and do NOT recommend to go there again. Definitely is not the best hair straightening or service out there.

I straightened my hair 6 months back and a really good and friendly experience for me from the reception to the end. I am going there again to do the same.

Really great for a digital perm. Before coming here I used to have my perms done in Hong Kong at a salon in the Four Seasons. These guys are just as good if not better, for a fraction of the cost! Top notch products.

This Japanese hair salon is excellent. They are friendly, polite and spend alot of effort to make your hair look great. I have been a long time customer with Hisa for many years now and never disappoint me. Highly recommended.

Kota is a lovely guy and has been straightening my hair now for two years. He does such a great job and now I am ready for a Summer of no frizziness or maintenance. Wouldnt go to anyone else!!!

Chika is attentive, intuitive when it comes to what to do with your hair and incredible at what he does. I've been twice now to get balayage done and every other salon I've been to cannot compare with the results I get from this place. Will likely go here for the rest of my life!

Pretty surprised to see the negative reviews so thought I would post.

I had been looking for a decent hairdresser for years and been to so many places I'd lost count - never managed to find someone who consistently gave stylish haircuts that I was happy with. A friend of mine recommended Hisa Goto almost a decade ago and I haven't gone anywhere else ever since (except for when I was living overseas - and even then, I would often time my haircuts for my visits back so I could get my hair cut by Hisa). I've recommended him to others and they continue to go as well.

Apart from great haircuts, the service is professional, his assistants are helpful and super-polite and Hisa is a very interesting guy to chat to.

Wouldn't go anywhere else.

Came for eyelash extension, Naoko is very gentle and professional. A variety of curl, length and weight of lash to choose from. Authentic Japanese style eyelash extension service. Would recommend to others.

I honestly recommend Kota for permanent straightening, he s detail oriented, understanding, very calm/patience and he did my hair from start to finish, ( I had a really bad experience with different hair salons at parramatta in the past, my hair was done by a traineeship and it breaks and falling off but Kota help me, he listen to my problem, thank you )

Super skilled but strongly opinionated hair dresser I had. Communication can be improved in the future to achieve better results. Also be better if hair dresser is less busy and takes more time to listen to my expectations. Great stylists in general!

They are a friendly and nice salon. So it is a shame because my daughter and I need to go get another hair cut even though it has been only 3 weeks since we went to the salon. Probably it's better to pay attention until to the end and ask the customers if they want to cut shorter. The hairdresser just took off the cape from me straight after it's done without asking if I like it or showing a mirror to check the length. Maybe because it was almost closing time, but the price is not cheap so I'd like to have a certain service. And I think shampoo should be included in the kid's hair cut for such a price.

Staff are very obliging and skilled, place is lovely, unusual decor. Very reasonable pricing for a CBD hair salon. Only snag is the slight language barrier with some staff. Wpuld be nice if they offered tea/water on arrival.

Chika is the best! He did cutting and perming for my friend, my sister and myself. All of us receive different tailor hair style that really suit our faces. The three of us are really impressed by his skills. I must say that his perming is one of the best that I have come across by experience. Totally recommend this place!

Additionally, what is different is that Chika never force us to do what we don t feel comfortable with and if any of our suggestion is impossible to be accomplished then he will say it straightaway. I really appreciate this characteristics of him

This is my second time visiting Blu and I've always seen Hisa, the director and owner of the salon. The first time I went in with damaged hair from prior bleaching and wanted an ash blonde balayage done. I was advised against it due to the level of damage and I ended up with a darker brown semi perm colour and a cut done. I was happy with it and promised to look after my hair for a few months until it is healthy again to take on balayage. I've since recommended a few friends to visit the salon.

Fast forward six months to now, my hair is long and healthy with only the ends in damaged condition, again from prior bleaching. I went back to Hisa to try again at an all over balayage to a dark root to ash blonde fade. Hisa, without much consultation, agreed and went straight into bleaching. The technique he used was different to how I had mine done before but I trusted him to know what he was doing. He worked on the left side of my hair and the assistant on the right. I know bleaching is the key to achieving the right result and it's normally the most time consuming. However, mine was done in about 30 minutes, after which he examined the lift and went in again on some parts to bleach again. After the bleach was washed out, Hisa applied a dark purple tint to the bleached parts only, leaving the top 1/3 of my head untouched as it was not bleached. This seemed strange to me as it wasn't the right colour I wanted and normally the colour is applied on the whole head to have that natural gradual effect. The tint was washed off and my hair was blow dried. No treatment whatsoever has been applied to my hair during this entire process. The end result was not how I imagined it from the front as the top 1/3 of my head was a warm brown and the ends are now a light grey green purple. Hisa never showed me the back of my hair and I stupidly did not examine everything carefully before paying $260 and walking out. It has been 4 hours plus and I was exhausted. When I got home, what I saw made my heart stop. The bleach had no gradient start, I had clear LINES of where the bleach starts, some high on the sides and some very very low on the back - it looked like I failed at an at home DIY bleach job, and there are 7 or 8 unbalanced bleach start lines plus the ultra warm to a platinum light grey purple colour change on my head meant that not only was my previous healthy hair completely damaged but also, I tied it up in a bun for a week before I could visit another salon to get it fixed. I thought about visiting Hisa again to get it fixed but the trust is completely gone, I would never set foot nor recommend any of my friends there again unless I want to kill their self confidence. Even if he did offer to fix it or give my money back, I have lost all confidence in him and the salon. Think twice before you think about doing a colour that involves bleach here!

Let's just say that it took me 10 hours and a very expensive fee to colour correct my hair at another salon and be happy with it.

They don't honour your booking time, forexample I've booked at 7pm and waited 30mins and still no sign it's my turn. It defeated the purpose of making a booking really.

Will blacklist that hairdresser.

My first time to come here. I'm so lucky they fit me in for a busy day. All staff are friendly and I love Nami. She's really doing a great job. She is very detail doing the hair cut, also she's very helpful giving me some tips about hair style. Definitely, will come back again. also highly recommend to all my friends and relatives to try this hair salon.

I had in mind what i wanted in terms of hair colour however the colour turned out to be not what I wanted and the staff was very rude. Poor customer service. I do not recommend this salon

Booked in advance through the phone and got the service after 5,10 mins arrived. Not too bad. Staff is friendly, efficient enough and i'm quite satisfying with my hair cut.
The drawback is the hidden location. You cannot see the sign from the street and the only way you can know about it is through google.

I got a straight perm by Mr.Kota a few weeks ago. His skill are very good and speedy. Also he is attentive. I was very satisfied everything at the hair salon.

Update: it s now 2.5 weeks after and I think it looks good now.

Previous review: I got a haircut recently and I waited one week to see the result, and now I can say that it s not worth the hype.

Tomoka is friendly and listens to my need, but the result doesn t really worth the price charged.

My experience is I had a fancy blow dry with some twists by hand that I can t reproduce and then the haircut. The cut looks gorgeous on the spot, but the second day it looks nothing like the fluffy cut I got.

I have been coming to Blu Creativity for the past 4 years. Always delivers! I used to get cheaper hair cuts but for a little more I look a lot better. The shampoo - head massage is good too

Shinroku was my stylist, he was so nice and not at all condescending when I asked questions (I have no clue about hair). Only took 1 look from the pictures I showed him and styled it to my liking. Very nice ambiance as well. Would recommend! <3 . The service was on time (if not early) as well (granted I came there early, they accomodated me as soon as a slot opened). Very nice staff as well.

Blu:Creativity Is a great place for cuts. A tad pricy but worthwhile. Hisa, the main hairstylist is very friendly and cuts very well.

Had my haircut today, and I cannot be happier with the result! Master Stylist Chika is so professional, I only had to show him a photo and he knew exactly what to do (which is very very rare in my experience, even having been to some supposedly good and expensive salons).

The ambiance of the place is nice and the staffs are very polite. Overall I had an excellent experience, and a great haircut at a reasonable price! Definitely recommend

Friendly service, but difficult to find - you need to go up the lift in the courtyard of the building. The lift button is also hard to find!

I have been to blu Creativity since 2004. I am always looked after by owner, Hisa Goto.
My hair has been change from black, blonde, Cyber silver to black so on...
I never had any issue with colour, even my hair is very hard to dyed. (once I went to some other hair saloon and had 3h on chemical to dye my hire and end up with cheap gold colour... Since then I ever go to other hair saloon to do my colour. except ble.)

Hisa always give me an great idea of styling and colour., even I cannot explain properly what I want to do. And I always happy with it.
blu:/creativity is the one of the top hair saloon, not only cut/colour, but all his staff are friendly too.

I have had my digital perm for years and this is my first time having it done with Blu :/Creativity. Mr. Hisa was my stylist for today and I have no negative comments about the service I received today whatsoever. Everything was amazing. I made a reservation in advance and was immediately seated upon my arrival. Hisa was very nice and knew how to give me what I want. I am normally very cautious about who does my hair and how it is done, but Hisa did an amazing job and I left the salon feeling like great. It is slightly tricky to find the salon but the pictures on google and previous comments helped immensely. Thank you very much and I am sure to come back for my next digital perm!

Called to make an appointment and the staff was really rude. Asked about the price of a basic hair cut and got the response "today we are full", I proceeded to ask "sure, what about tomorrow?" then got a reply of "we're full too" with an aggressive voice. If by making a call for an appointment the service and attitude is like this, I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Very friendly, professional and talented. They really take care of you and your hair. Great cuts and styles that are easy to manage. I never need to worry about how it will look after I wash my hair!

What was there not to like?! This is a top notch salon with a beautiful interior and a jazzy ambience. I had my hair straightened with Kota who is extremely talented, professional and friendly. He took good care of my hair and the end result was extremely satisfactory. My hair does not feel damaged and looks soft and shiny. Definitely worth a visit.

My first visit today, Tomoka was my stylist. She made thorough explanation and what to expect from my new colour. Communication was great, she made sure we are on the same page. Other staff were also courteous. Definitely recommend and will come back!

I m normally based in the US (Boston/nyc) to be exact...and I was in Sydney visiting family. I thought it be a great time to check out this Japanese salon as it was so highly rated on some list and gee how stupid I was.

This salon, or at least my experience, was pathetically miserable. It was a 23 min haircut, and for a salon of this caliber I would expect more time taken, as I basically got my head shaved and poorly done if that was the main purpose. Not once did the hairdresser ask me what I wanted and when I expressed it it was dismissed. When he got out a buzzer and buzzed my mid length hair on one side of my head I didn t even know what to do anymore.

Another complete lapse in service...was not showing me how the back of my head was done...which he didn t until I asked and he only showed me one side. It got to a point where I would not trust him to fix it so I just left.

I understand that service in Australia is more laid back but to not have an ounce of professionalism in a salon of this level is shameful. It is pathetic to have this salon on a top hairdresser in Sydney list...and I would hope an improvement occurs or the list is revised and more attention is payed to the actual treatment of customers.

I also understand that people have bad days and sometimes hate their jobs...but when the job concerns other people there is an obligation to your company and the job itself. To not meet this standard at all is a waste of everyone s time.

Impeccable service, beautiful surroundings, and I left the salon with the most incredibly smooth and shiny hair - so fresh and shiny it looked like I d just had a fresh colour done (and I haven t coloured my hair in 3 years!). WOW!!! You are the creators of beautiful hair !! The experience I got from the minute I walked into the salon was positive and relaxing. My hairdresser Kota did a brilliant job with my japanese hair straightening in just 3.5 hours. It is hard to beat the quality of the service and results I received so thank you for exceeding my expectations. Definitely returning and bringing you more customers.

I went today, and Chika was my hairstylist. I found he communicated very well with what could and could not be done, unfortunately my hair was ruined from overbleaching by another hairdresser and was all different tones, as well as being very damaged at the ends. He got rid of almost all the damage and thinned out my quite thick hair very well. I was also hoping for a lighter colour, but he explained that all of the different tones would show through and I ended up going with a far darker colour, and honestly I love it. It makes me look younger and far more professional, which is exactly what I was going for. I would definitely recommend trusting Chika's advice. He was also very gentle and I found the whole process of my haircut enjoyable (I almost fell asleep!)

I had a great experience with master stylist Ms. Tomoka today! She is so professional, skilled, and play intention on design my hair. Other staffs in this salon are so friendly too:) and they all look so professionals! I did hair cut , color, treatment today. I m a person got very thin and dry hair. But after my hair get done by Ms. Tomoka hand. She did a very nice fringe for me. My hair got thicker and style. The treatment was so good, my hair are so smooth and volume now! Love so much. I am a very picky person and I went to many hair salon even some of them are very expensive but still not as good as blu:/ creativity. They charge in a reasonable price. I highly recommend this salon. And if you want to get a nice woman hair cut please go to Ms. Tomoka. She won t disappoint you!

I would honestly not go anywhere else to get my hair done! Kota has been colouring, cutting/styling and Japanese Straightening my hair for the last 2 years and I've never had a bad experience. He always pays great attention to detail and really takes care of you. The staff there are super friendly and professional as well. I highly recommend Blu creativity !!

Had my hair cut by master stylist, Shinroku! And honestly I m so happy with how it turned out. Such a friendly and kind staff. The way they work with your hair is so gentle. It was my first time cutting my hair really short, and Shinroku was considerate (asking me how I wanted things along the way)! He also showed me tips on how to curl/style my hair.. I left the salon with such soft blown curls but still looked natural. Will definitely be coming back when I need a cut and introducing my other sisters this salon!

Called up and booked an appointment for permanent hair straightening, went all the way into the city only to sit down in the chair and be told upfront that it couldn't be performed on chemically lightened hair.
Perhaps someone should have asked me over the phone when booking the appointment?!
Waste of time and money and walked out of the salon in tears of embarrassment.

I've been here a few times now and has fantastic service and a great haircut each time even though I've changed things up each time I've gone. I usually go to Shinroku who doesn't say a lot, but takes the time to listen and interpret the look that I'm asking for.

Excellent service, really happy with the results. Have been coming here again and again. I think I will never go anywhere else. I always changed my hairstyle and Tomoka always did great job! highly recommend for everyone. i got Hisa did my hair and it is really impressive. he is sooo careful and nice, you can discuss with him which style you want and then he will give you the recommendation. it absolutely worth the money !

A Japanese hair dresser will give you fine service and delicate cuts.

It was a Japanese beauty salon, so I went there with confidence and it was a big mistake. With the first shampoo, water got into my back and my clothes got soaked. But the staff made me feel as if nothing had happened.
I went to reapply the spiral perm, but the feeling of the perm was overwhelmingly reduced and I was sad that it looked like a twist. I was disappointed that I paid a lot of money ...
I had my hair removed, but on my way home, my hair fell apart and I immediately returned home and shampooed again.
It was the worst.
It may be allowed in Australia, but I think it will definitely collapse in Japan.
If you are planning to go with a Japanese person, I recommend another Japanese hair dressing shop. I really want you to return the money.

I've got my japanese straightening done here and I am super happy with the result. I got it done by kota who is very professional, friendly and super kind . I always had curly, frizzy hair and wanted to get my hair straightened for a long time. Kota did such a great job with it and even made it look quite natural which i loved the most. I've even convinced my sister to get it done from here and she will soon

Bad service ,long waiting with my hair half cut then rush haircut and impatient hairdresser maybe because of my bad luck this time lol).

I DO NOT recommend this hair salon AT ALL. I had the worst hair salon experience in my life here.

I came back here couples of days later hoping to have him fix my hair, but again he didn't do good job. My hair colour is still messy. So I got my money back and left there.
I showed him some pictures and explained what I wanted (twice!!), and he said "Ok. Ok. It's gonna be all right." Nothing is all right now. The colour is not ombre style, and my hair of course got damaged because of the colouring and now I need to go to another hair salon.
Isn't their job to figure out what the customers want and make our hair beautiful?!? I don't think he knows what Ombre is at all. Terrible.
