Best toy store ever! Super fun atmosphere and the employees are energetic and always willing to help out! They have a great toy, candy, and card game selection and super helpful employees! (They know everything about games!) Not only do they have new product but they also have some nostalgic toys, games, and candy! I 10/10 would definitely recommend!

We always make it a point to stop and wander around Blickenstaff's when we're at the Riverwoods. There's so much to see with all the vintage games and toys- not to mention the new ones. My favorite part of the store is the reading corner and huge selection of children's books, they even have a section with tiered cushions to play or read on. The giant T-Rex model is also really fun.

I wish I could give this a five star review but unfortunately it is just not the same store that it used to be before the remodel. It used to have a magical feeling but now it feels like a step up from the dollar store except for the outrageous prices. At one point the price could be justified but not anymore.

Disappointing is putting it lightly! Came in for some things my kids saw last week, they were out of nearly everything including the things we came in for. The same exact toy was less expensive elsewhere but they wouldn t price match. The toys that were there were priced inconsistently. After many years and a lot of frustration my kids were finally ready to spend their money and guess what they don t take cash! Never going to this store again!

They honestly might have the biggest and best selection of quality board games I have ever seen in a store! My wife and I are excited to go back next month when we have money budgeted for another game :)

This store used to be quite charming. The prices have always been on the higher end -- it is located in the Riverwoods so you know what demographic they are catering too. But since the remodel Blickenstaff's is now just disappointing. The selection of toys is pretty limited, with almost everything being crazily over-priced. About 40% of the merchandise (including all of the candy) has no price tag on it, so you have to constantly ask the staff to price check things for you. If you don't want customers to know the price of items it's probably because they get sticker shock just looking at it. Most of the really cute and whimsical toys that were fun to peruse are now gone. Instead they are replaced by bougie niche items that only a select few would be interested in. I hate to say it, but we most likely won't be back.

Stopped in today and was completely ignored by the two staff workers, both looked straight at me and continued with their tasks without saying a word to me. As I looked around and passed by them multiple times they didn t greet me or ever ask if I needed any help. As I was ready to check out I had to wait at the register for several minutes before one of them decided to help me.
The only upside to this store was their cute book selection.
