New location, better business model. Since moving from bleecker street to west 4th, it seems they have shifted their business model as well. Products are priced to move and selection has grown to offer more variety! One of the best record stores in New York.
I've been here around 1 year ago. It was one of the best vinyl store that I've ever seen. You can find everything here. Huge amount of Soundtracks.
I love it here. Except for the cat that always sleeps on boxes, their stuff is amazing.
Hard to find cd's &lp's all in this one of a kind nostalgic time capsule! It'll keep you searching
For hours! Thanks so much for staying in business!
Awful awful, the people here need to find another hobby
Interesting selection. Hit and miss. Some good finds on the wall.
Good selection and prices, and a fun place to hang out.
One of the best record stores I've been to since J&R closed for renovation!
A very wide selection of CD, Vinyl, Cassette, DVD, and LaserDisc (?!?) bootleg and genuine, new and used!
Nice place for used CDs and records but selection is very limited and not very appealing.
Store focused on rock and metal. It does not have many new releases or albums recently released, but it does have vinyl and cd. In prices, it is not the big deal, however in the used discs section it has good offers. They also sell t-shirts with bands.
Bleecker Street Records is a staple in the West Village. My sister used to work here back in the day. It used to be more punk. Now it's just a vintage record shop. Come in and see the largest cat you'll ever see. It was nice to walk down memory lane.
I am looking for a disc called SOUL EXPLOSION on CD or vinyl.
Nice selection of hiphop and triphop records. I love the fact that they have a turntable setup so you can sample your records which is really nice. I believe I got my Dr Dre Chronic 2001 album from there (it's been awhile). It was slightly used but for only $7 that's not a bad deal!
Great record store. I could spend hours in here. Could use a bit more organization
Very sad this place is gone, its a real shame record stores can no longer exist, thanks to the landlords who milk them dry. At one-time there were many stores to choose from. With the likes of Kims, Rockit Records, the other side, Discorama, and many more, going out of business, the village doesnt have many record and CD stores to choose from. Everybody is looking on line for free. A collector of over 5,000 albums, and close to 4,000 CDS, its an awful shame you need the internet to get music now. A few stores are left in the village including Academy Records.
Manhattan is undoubtedly a region that offers exceptional alternatives for record lovers. Another point that should be seen is as important as stores such as Academy Record, A1, Generation and Bleecker Street Records.
On the lower floor, it has the most ambitious collection of soundtracks I have come across after the Amsterdam Concerto Record Shop. By the way, I could not decide which one contains more variety.
He is also very successful in jazz. For example, I was able to find Sarah Vaughan's album "After Hours at the London House" that I had been looking for for a long time.

It's like enter to a time machine. Really cool stuff for collection. Old and good prices. Rear and exclusive. Just got people who likes music
If you love vinyl and music from the last century you must come and see this shop!
One of my favorite record stores to go to. A wide variety of vinyl. If you're willing to go fishing through the bins, you'll find some gems. From Cab Calloway to the Easy Rider sondtrack and the latest Black Keys album, the have what you're looking for.
An offshoot of Generation Records, this shop is more vintage these days than it was when it started as more of a punk record shop. I've found some gems in the basement here. Definitely a must check store when record hunting.
Extensive vinyl collection, spent hours in here at a time.
Very large record selection. Downstairs is the interesting stuff. But minus one star because of the bootlegs sold there, so beware!
The big fat cat is cool though. :)
This is an awesome little store that I've literally been coming to since I was born and I'm very glad that it's still standing. The best feature of this store is that you can listen to almost anything before you buy it. While the used CD selection is rather small (especially compared with places like Amoeba), the record selection is immense and it's fantastic if you specialize in vinyl.
This place had the best records for deals you couldn't imagine. I'm very sad that it's gone
loved it so much OMG. If it's cheap and good records you're looking for, this is definitely the place. Employees were ok. Just seemed bored but one was really nice and helped me find everything I was looking for!!! Will definitely come back.
After the closing of Virgin Records stores, Bleecker Street Records is the answer for when you want a CD or a record. They have a wide selection of old CDs and records (in the basement). There are also 2 large gray cats, so I would stay away if you have any intense cat allergies. With that said, they are docile and usually sleep on cardboard boxes. Haruki Murakami has been spotted here.
