The savory waffle from Birchwood is always a top priority for me when I visit Minneapolis. I love that the flavors change with the seasons, but its consistently delicious. Even if I go with the intention of trying something, I always get the savory waffle and never regret. The coffee is delicious as well. Love the atmosphere this place.
Delicious, locally sourced food. Almost everything is house made, and if not, at least locally made. The quinoa burger is hella good, and the buns are high quality. They also offer locally made hot sauce for purchase!
We did the Christmas meal and it was so good. The salad and quiche were amazing!
Update: got takeout for Friday fish fry and it was so good even after driving home with it. The curbside pick up was very smooth. Also got some granola and have been eating for breakfast! So good!
Modern American cuisine for health conscious clientele. It's counter service but the staff is very attentive. You can also buy some of their house made products packaged to take home. Seasonal menu items may change frequently.
Amazing ! ! They have the best curbside pick up in Seward! Make sure to try them out! Keep them open! We love the bakery items for a quick get and the test of the menu is wonderful!
The savory waffle at Birchwood is one of my all time faves: each quadrant is loaded up with something special (an egg, some bacon a fruit compote, herbal butter).
Make sure the grab a cup of Peace Coffee's Birchwood blend while on site. It's pretty dark, but has lots of body.

So good, fresh, and amazing! The lines are super long around 10-11am on weekends, but the line calms down around noon. They do bring you coffee while you wait in line though, so that's a treat. The avocado toast and waffles were great! Even the decaf coffee was good, which is hard to find. They have a system that works well, but be prepared to wait in line for yummy food. Once it's ordered, it doesn't take long to come out though.
Called ahead four days in advance and got a pickup time and they were still running over a half hour behind. If you can't fill the order, just don't take it! While waiting, I heard an outdoor table tell their server that they'd been waiting an hour for their food. Additionally, the staff acted completely unconcerned with the level of poor service.
Oh my gosh, THE BEST! I miss this place so much. My favorite spot for clean, vegetarian options in MPLS! Great atmosphere, staff were always so nice! Definitely check them out!
Nothing made me feel more homey than Birchwood, I was away for 4 years and coming back and eating here, the real good food, the staff, atmosphere is exceptional!!!
