I live in St Kilda east and I've worked with Ivy for a couple of years now and she's always been very helpful, responsive and professional. It was my first experience living in an owners corporation and she explained how everything works patiently and professionally. I would definitely recommend Binks and Associates to do things right.
Worst ever property management company to deal with. Lights in our building foyer and stairway have been out for weeks now! Lets hope there's no fire or crisis in the middle of the night because we have no exit / emergency lighting at all!! And no response to email or calls. On top of that our rubbish hasn't been collected for three weeks! We have rats. It's DISGUSTING! Pretty sure Ivy doesn't live like this!
This firm's philosophy seems to be the reverse of "no problem too small".
Great accounting department. It was really nice dealing with the accountant, never had any issues and she is always responsive to any queries.

Since we changed our property management to Binks a few years ago I have noticed the vast improvement in responsiveness and advice given regarding our property (managed by Todd). The customer service is friendly and efficient and their fiscal management is second to none. The only negative is their reception staff.
Our small Body Corporate of nine units has relied on Binks and Associates for the last thirty years. For up to date information on changes to regulations, for conducting well prepared Annual General meetings and for their very clear guidelines on what are our obligations in running a successful Body Corporate.

Worst OC managers ever. Don't respond to calls or emails, haven't had an agm for over 18 months even though we have been requesting one and make it very hard to transfer management to another company. Terrible service and I can't wait to be free of them!

I never paid much attention to the body corporate at our Hughesdale apartment complex but always thought the fees were strangely high for a building with minimal communal facilities. I spoke with Julian at Binks and Associates after a friend s recommendation and after discussing the financial statements with him I could understand where we were being overcharged and that a lot of the Manager s charged were not normal . I joined the committee shortly after and fortunately the other three committee members were happy to change manager to Binks. We ve saved several thousand dollars in the last 18 months and I m relieved we have finally replaced our roof which went nowhere previously. I promised Julian around a year ago that I would thank him with a review and so finally here it is!
Just finished our AGM for a building in excess of 150 units in under an hour. So refreshing to know that the property is receiving prompt attention, excellent service and is well looked after. A very positive change after an "interesting experience".
Im not sure if Julian or Gershwin looks after our property but either way my concerns are addressed quickly and without issues or complications.

I am the chairperson for our owner's corporation and Todd (Binks and Associates) has been the manager of our owners's corporation for the past 7 years . During this time he has provided a very professional service. He is responsive to our needs and always deals with issues in a prompt manner. He has by far been the best property manager we have ever had and I have owned my flat for the past 27 years (it has been managed by Binks and Associates for this period of time). Todd is conscientious, reliable and has consistently provided a high quality service to us as his clients. I consider him to be diligent and someone who who takes great pride in his work. I would highly recommend Todd as an owner's corporation manager.

Binks & Assoc have managed our body corp for over 20 years; I can highly recommend them. During this time we have been though a lot, including a full renovation of the block and many difficult situations during which Binks have proved themselves time and again to be professional, courteous and extremely competent. Their guidance and advice has helped us resolve our issues as they arose and avoid more than one sticky situation.
Was referred by my accountant to this company (I do some small developments). The process has been very efficient and we received some sound suggestions that helped offset some potential complications that would have eventuated in some problems for the owners and in turn us. Happy with the referral.
Terrible. They have no idea what they are doing. Each time you ask, they attack back with the issue being my problem. I actually received rude e-mails back from there staff. Yet they are suppose to manage the maitenance of the property. The hot water pipes have been squealing for months internally yet after 12 months nothing done! Windows were suppose to get cleaned, after many phone calls and e-mails, 12 months later still no windows are cleaned. Yet Binks paid the invoice for the window cleaning that was not done, Water leaking through the windows it took 6 whole months to resolve. After 12 months of being patient trying to work with them, I have given up. I will never deal with them again.
As the chairperson of an owners corporation of an 18 apartment building I have been working with Binks and Associates for 5 years now. In that time their guidance and assistance to help the committee and I run, repair and renovate our block has been invaluable. We have made major changes to our owners corporation policies, raised levies and engaged multiple contractors for large jobs all with Binks assistance and without any problems. Our experience has been nothing but positive and I would highly recommend their services.
I have been a Owners Corporation committee member for a block of flats in South Yarra (Hawksburn) managed by Bink (and other before) since 1987. I am also the secretary of our committee for about 20 years and I have found Binks efficient and helpful. Property manager do change often but our current manage Julian at Binks is doing a good job as did the ones before.
I think some of the 1 star reviews here by others are ridiculous.
Our committee is very active and gets thing done as needed or as planned ahead and Binks make sure the committees and owners wishes are carried out.
Managing property is a team effort through the committee, owners, residents, property managers and even the handyman who putting the bins out weekly, tidies the place and reporting any failure that residents may not report. Our residents are mostly renters and when the committee issues new driveway gate remotes earlier this year at the property we found the residents very nice young people from many background.
Over a number of years our body corp has had quite a few managers. It is difficult work to do no doubt but they get paid for it so really they should do the work and not complain. Until we appointed Binks as our manager I had formed the view that all managers were either of an average standard or worse.
I can confidently say that Binks have been the best Manager we've had. I have found their staff to be both responsive, straightforward and forthright with responses when we've needed help.
Binks have managed out apartments for a number of years and during that time they regularly change who is managing our property without advising committee. I almost never get my emails replied to. Ivy has no understand of building works and struggles on how to interpret reports and manage upcoming works. The staff can be rude over the phone and often do not know what is going on, i have been told "i thought that work was completed" (it wasnt) and "what do you want me to do" (when requesting urgent works). The communication is poor (mostly non-existent) and unprofessional and staff seem to have no idea what is going on.
They seem to struggle to find contractors for works and those they do use are expensive. I'd never recommend and hope to make a change.
Recently took over as body corp manager for the property I am a tenant in. The difference is quite apparent - I actually received a return call and a quick response to my emails. Thanks to Ivy!
Rude staff & terrible customer service. Their response during a global pandemic where people are experiencing severe hardships was to threaten and charge penalties while further reducing the quality of their already terrible service.
Binks & Associates have been managing our Owners Corporation since 2006. I am chair of our OC Committee, and have been for many years. Initially I was not happy with the manager we had, and I insisted on changing managers. Since Todd Stokes was appointed we have been much happier. Todd is very accessible. If he can t take my call straight away, he invariably responds to my voice message before close of business on the same day. We recently undertook a major external renovation of our building, and Todd guided us well through this process. Todd has many years of experience in OC Management, and we have every confidence in his ability to continue to serve us well in the years to come.

Terrible. Maybe we just have a bad manager at the moment, apparently the previous one was better, I wasn't around for that.
I have to say that it is much better than the previous property management company (not to mention the previous name). binks dealt with problems in a timely manner and had a very good attitude. It was not the polite and indifferent attitude of many ghosts. I hope that our building can continue to use this property, and don't change it back to the previous one.
Our Committee for 50 units have been fortunate to have Alyssa Ho as our contact. She is experienced, helpful and reliable. Cannot fault her work.

Binks & Associates displayed to me a deficiency in competence. They are unable to adress routine matters or resolve them. When tasked with organising matters such as basic maintenance they really struggle to maintain any control.
I have also noticed that they often seek conflict with the real estate agents, owners and tenants as a preferred mode of interaction.
I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for these services.

We have had the absolutely worst experience with Binks & Associates. Our property manager Graham never responds to calls or emails and barely actions any of our requests. The only thing we get on a regular basis is our quarterly bill and he's had the gall to charge us extra for "additional" work that he has done. We've had to change body corporate managers as we finally got sick and tired of this incompetence. The lack of service we've received has been beyond poor. Would NEVER recommend.
Its been a pleasure dealing with Elsa in the accounting department at Binks. As external accountants we rely on timely and accurate information to enable filing of lodgements with the ATO prior to deadlines and without any issues.
