Currently they are doing a lot of work to the zoo. Between that and Covid-19 guidelines a lot of the zoo is closed to the public. There are still many animals to see and every visitor helps make the zoo better, faster. Most Zoos are built from nothing, leveling a huge area and manufacturing everything you see. Ross Park Zoo is set into the natural local environment, changing only those things that the animals need to thrive. Go see the 5th oldest Zoo in the country and help make it even better!

Very disappointed with this "zoo", When i was a kid it was beautiful, and over the years it's turned to nothing, the poor animals that are left in the enclosures looked very sick they had little to no water, and no food. I feel so bad for them. They would honestly be better off closing that zoo and putting those animals in a zoo where they would have more attention and water, and there enclosures are well kept. Don't think I would go back, did not like seeing animals like that. Something needs to be done.

Horrible

Horrible
Defintaly not worth the $ or the drive.
Barley any animals, and the ones that were their looked ill. Enclosures were way to small.
Park was dirty. Staff were not all that friendly. Defiantly will never be going back or recommending this zoo to any one. It should be sgut down and re done.

Spent the morning with my friend and her 20 month old granddaughter and my 20 month old great granddaughter. The 3 and under room was perfect. The rest of the place had long halls and carpeted steps to run and practice on. They weren't very interested in grocery shopping but liked the bee hive. Place got quite crowded but happy children everywhere. This center is probably the best I've seen including NYC. Very innovative, well staffed, attention to details remarkable.

Last Saturday my mother, her boyfriend, my fiance, and me went to ross park zoo we went down to the spillway there was a fawn down there that seemed to be hurt and couldn't get out I contacted the zoo and the woman that I spoke to said that it goes in there all the time it can go through the pipe and get to its mother.....they had lied to us we had recently found out that the poor little fawn had died. They say there all about animals well they didn't help the fawn that was stuck and I will not be returning to this zoo.

Fun, local historic zoo and carousel! Animal exhibits, playground, food and beverage purchase area, and gift shop all on site. Be aware that the flow of the zoo is basically uphill, almost switchback style. Wear good walking shoes and be prepared to deal with going uphill!

Our family had a great experience with our Wild Encounter. All the staff were courteous and helpful. Rachael and Courtney were very knowledgeable and friendly. We would recommend the experience to any family.

I know the zoo and its employees do their best with the limited resources they have, but it needs more animals. At least half of the mile long walk has no exhibits, and often times the special events they run are half baked. The zoo is very kind to the animals they do have though, as they focus on rehabilitation into the wild rather than domestication of the creatures under their care. I'd love to see them get a massive grant or donation so they could do more than just survive.

We had a good time with our kids. I got a good deal on Goupon for tickets. It could use some updates but the staff was friendly and helpful.

The most disapointing part was people smoking. There was one person smoking a cigarett just feet away from the "no puffin" sign. There was also two seporate groups of people smoking POT out in the parking lot.

Perfect zoo for young children to walk. Plenty of shade and areas to rest around the 1 1/4 mile looping exhibit trail. Plenty of exhibits in which most of the animals were out. Just dont expect to find elephants, rhinos, or other large zoo exhibits here.
