I was first recommended to Ampi by Donoho's Jewellers and since then have never looked back. Ampi has a wealth of experience working with high-end jewelry, particularly at Donoho s Jewellers and Harry Winston, and it shows in her work as an appraiser. She takes time and care to evaluate every piece I've brought to her and is very patient with me when I have questions. Ampi is by no doubt an expert in her field and by personal experience, her professional opinion has been incredibly helpful for me in both insurance and resale. With all that said, thank you Ampi! 6/5 stars!!

Sadly I must revise my previous review. Some months ago I brought all of my parents jewelry to be given a basic appraisal for use in their bankruptcy. Now after that is over with we tried to sell some pieces in order to get some buffer to their cash flow.

I took a pair of emerald earrings along with a couple other pieces to one of the top rated precious stones and jewelry dealers. The earrings had Load Stones in them that Ampi appraised at $1,200. Instead I was informed, after using several methods of evaluation that the stones were synthetic, lab created. He said it was obvious from the get-go just because they were set in 10 Karat Gold. A true natural emerald is highly unlikely to be paired with low quality gold. Also the fact that both earring stones were exactly identical. He was shocked when I told him they'd been appraised at $1,200. As he put it for their size if they were natural they'd be worth far more than $1200, but being synthetic they had no resale value, surely not $1200.

The remaining items I'd brought with me went much the same way. A diamond tennis bracelet turned out to be set with small grey colored diamonds he said he sold for $25ea, which Ampi had appraised for over $1000. At one point, speaking about the appraisal I had gotten from Ampi, he said they (Ampi) had no idea what they were doing.

I came away from the appraisal from Ampi thinking my parents had several valuable pieces of jewelry. Though it was concerning that it might hurt their bankruptcy, afterwards we believed we had easily sellable property to help them stay on their feet. Instead I feel the money I paid Ampi for the 2hrs was a complete waste of money. Because the appraisal I was given for their jewlery clearly had no basis in the real world.

Ampi was very professional and friendly. She made an appointment with me flexible to my schedule and did a great job appraising my jewelry. She offered verbal and written appraisal rates and really had my interests at heart! She gave me the details of the entire ring and gems and her service was excellent. I would definitely use her again! This is a way better service than going to a gem store, where the appraisers share profit with the store and have very limited schedules. My experience with Bijoux could not have been better!
